I'm flying into Salt Lake in a coupla weeks and I'm going to spend a couple days looking for fish fossils and then it's off to Denver. I figured I'd slink away to do some panning just for shits and grins but hot Damm for such a big state you sure don't have many places open to the public! I could go out there in October elk hunting and pay an outfitter 10k to put me on 10k acres of public land to hunt. The land is precious but it can be used appropriately. It just don't seem right.

Somebody upstream dammed it up for there sluice. 24 hours let's their pond build up then your water comes back to almost normal.

Cache creek, hidden creek. Hidden so that nobody finds the gold! Does the gold stick to that metal thing and that is how you find it? Looks like a lot of work!

i understand that there's a property owner up the mountain who is known to block off the water flow to fill his ponds

It's called "the Warzone" because it looks exactly like an impact zone for artillery.

another good video on cache creek. I know whatever gold you find there that you earn it. Its hard work. I liked the rope line to slide buckets down to the stream. That was one thing that woreme out big time. I would carry 2 half buckets at a time to try and balance it out. I went about this same time in 2020. The water supply would get to low after like 2 in the evening. So i wouild just stock pile a bunch of buckets for the next day. Dont think i will make it this year, but definitely going back. Yes you right. pack it in and pack it out.

ha ha thank you! The rope idea was actually Derek's. We're thinking of using block and tackle pullies and a zip line next year. We want to know the exact definition of "mechanical mining" lol.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing another Cache Creek video. The water flow is certainly a mystery!

Thank you! What's your guess about the water?

@@UnknownColorado I lean towards the idea that someone is probably diverting the water upstream, because it seems unnatural for the water flow to suddenly stop, restart, and do that three times. As far as why they are diverting the water, hard to say. I hope it is just temporary!
