    I was born in 2006 but idk why I love these old hardware machines
    For example, 3 month ago, I bought a Windows XP machine with an Intel Pentium 4, 1 GB of ram, (I replaced the graphic card because the old one get broken and I replaced it with a Radeon X1300) and 14 HDD disk, all for 50$ and I'm using a lot of old games on it!
    I very love 90's old times
    *GREETINGS FROM ITALY😉*

      my configuration in the year 2002: Athlon Xp 2000+ 512Mb RAM GeForce 4. Really other times. Around the 2006 I was 18 in age and my brother bought a radeon x1800xt 512Mb to be inserted together an Athlon 64 3400+. I still remember when I installed it for him, he fell asleep and I launched Oblivion at midnight. All the settings changed automatically in Ultra, it was impressed. They were the years of the great battles between ATI and Nvidia ;)

      @@ferdinandocostanzo7578 My brother also got an Athlon 64 system at that time. I used to joke about WHY have a 64 bit CPU, everything is 32 bit! Trivia for the young'uns: this was first generation of consumer 64 bit CPUs, AMD beat Intel to the punch. Now a days Intel licenses AMD's 64 bit microcode because it is that good!

      I’m also born in 2006. One of my first laptops feature a Pentium processor and ran Windows XP. Decided to play a lot of old games like COD 1 AND CS:Source.

      I was born in 2007. My first computer was an olidata with windows 98 and my favourite games of the time were Pc genius, Lego racers, One Hundred and Two Dalmatians: Puppies at rescue, Santa Claus in trouble ecc.
      I really love old tech, recently i have builded a old machine with windows 98 SE that has a:
      Pentium II with MMX technology at 300 mhz
      256 mb of ram pc400
      a Voodo fx 3 2000 card
      10 gb of segate hard disk

      what makes Modern Hardware sucks is because of RGB

    • @s8wc3
      @s8wc3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The problem is that now everything is black... maybe except for ram or special limited release hardware. There used to be tonnes of different looking hardware to choose from, until about 2015 when every manufacturer started doing black and RGB lighting for everything. Also noone is bothering to do case mods anymore, because everything is "good enough"... noone is bothering to improve on others and make their own designs. There is no "custom" in custom computer anymore, everyone's is the pretty much the same.

    • @estidi
      @estidi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@s8wc3 Except it's really not. You should look at those gamer products. There are so much variation than your usual consumer products. Back then everything was beige anyway.

    Man, I almost cried when I saw that gorgeous hardware you have got on the table. Lots of it is just sooooooo bloody hard to get these days! I am building similar socket 478 Pentium 4 Prescott machine with MSI i875P Neo, OCZ Platinum, overkill - Sapphire Radeon HD3850, Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS.... You have got some awesome coolers there. I struggled to get one so I went for Scythe Shuriken 1100 rev-B. Good video, keep up good work!

      2x 300gb maxtor hdds
      And a abit siluro fx 5600 gpu

    This is an awesome build. I'm currently putting together a similar build with the same motherboard, a slightly lesser standard Pentium 4 Northwood at 3.2 GHz, same Zalmon cooler, same GPU but stock NVIDIA, 2x1GB Kingston HyperX DDR 400, and same audio card, in an Antec Performance One P193. I look forward to playing UT 2004 on it.
    My case may be awesome, but that Lian Li you're using is truly a thing of classic steel beauty, and definitely more period correct for an '03-05 build. Sweet video!

    I still have quite a big collection of old hardware. The best being an Abit AI7! that is one solid motherboard. I did have a bunch of motherboards that failed due to capacitors, should have kept them. There is one motherboard I did keep and really want to get it repaired and that is an MSI 845P-Neo V. It is only a single-channel ddr board but it used to scream along running windows xp! sometimes I was fooled into thinking it was better than my other more powerful boards.

    I have that exact case
    Same motherboard (ic7 max 3)
    I have the P4 ee 3.4ghz 2mb Gallatin, but it's put on display.
    ...because I chose to run a p4 3ghz 1mb Prescott. Better multiplier for overclocking and better scores.
    Got 4ghz out of it (267 x 15 = 1066Mhz FSB)
    Same Corsair LED pc3500 ram. Running at 428mhz with the divider.
    2-3-2-6 timings.
    BFG 6800 Ultra OC @ 450mhz.
    Got an Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 on it.
    Same sound card too! Audigy 2 ZS with front panel.

    I just stumbled across this video. A very nice build indeed. I do have a question though. When it comes to retro gaming from the '90s would Windows 98 be best or would Windows XP be better? Both were good for their time. I'm guessing XP would be easier to work with but with those older '90s games does it matter?

    • @RETROHardware
      @RETROHardware  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      XP is right OS for setup like this. W98 is typical for P2 or P3 systems.

    Ultimate 2004 gaming PC.
    BTW, 2 GB is overkill in 2004, most people are using 256 MB to 768 MB of RAM, even gamers back then rarely use 1 GB ram.
