- The Tamiya Grasshopper 2 Kit requires you to build the rc buggy. In part 1 of this beginner build series I build the gearbox and install the motor which is steps 2-5 on the instruction.

I am glad you are enjoying the build! Don't worry about missing a piece, it happens all the time!
Thank you Addam! It has been a great experience so far! The important thing is I caught the missing piece before running it!
Nice I got the same 540 motor in my 2017 grasshopper ii
Nice, I’m happy with that motor I think it’s plenty quick
Wow...we are the same...I also just bought a Tamiya RC for the first time. My choice is also the same as yours, namely the Grasshopper 2. I have also just started learning to assemble it myself.
Awesome! How are you enjoying the build so far?
@@BargainBashersRc I just received it yesterday, so I haven't started assembling it yet. I just read the guidebook and watched tutorials on TH-cam.
@@taufikmasri definitely a great place to start! There’s a few tricky steps for people who are new to this but overall the build went well. Make sure you have the right tools, it will make things a lot easier!
I'd love to build a car like this and the Grasshopper is an absolute classic.
It’s been a great experience so far, I highly recommend picking one up!
@BargainBashersRc My favourite was always the Bigwig. If I get the free cash and time I'd love to build o e of those.
@@RCFunclub that would be a fun kit
This is a great first car, i have the torque tuned in my grasshopper and the sport tuned in the hornet, they both go like a champ, this car will be plenty fun and laughs, nice build series😃👍
Thank you Bloka! I’ve definitely been enjoying the build and can’t wait to have it running!
Good stuff! That gearbox is pretty indestructible. Should give you years of worry free driving especially with you adding the bearings.
Thanks and good to know! The hardest part about the build so far is finding the time to work on it lol
@@BargainBashersRc that’s true!
@@FastFreddyRC I take that back, steps 10/11 with the tiny spring to attach the gearbox to the chassis which I just did was brutal haha
lol - yeah that's a weird one for sure. Just got to make sure you get the spring on the right side of the screw.@@BargainBashersRc
@@FastFreddyRC I’m fairly certain I did, I was making sure to follow the pictures closely
Did your kit come with NOS??? I think you have to get the “Tuna, No Crust!” Version to get NOS though.
Definitely coming along though. Way over my head.
Haha thanks! Hoping when I get a different kit it’s a lot closer to a fast & furious car
