Oooooh, I'd been considering getting this - I'm so glad/relieved that you chose to review it because I can't return products once they've been opened.
As well as making your skin look dry, it actually looked matte and very drying on application.
Very happy to "dodge this bullet".
Also, $42 (imo) IS pricy for Two Faced.

I honestly don’t have a ton of products that haven’t worked or were bad.. I’m trying to be so selective when I purchase things, but I have been sent more PR where I don’t get to choose what I want so there are more missed there!

I used to use the original too faced foundation and I guess their formula is changing! It’s so dry as well!! But the color fit me perfectly.

Gosh, I can’t see how it can look good on anybody, however we all have such different skin types and skin issues, that a foundation can work on someone and not on another person❤️
I hated this one too! And believe me, going up in shade wouldn't have helped you at all! (Since we are similar in our shade matches from what I've seen on your channel.) I got the shade above this, vanilla, as they said that was the match if you wore the original BTW foundation in vanilla, and OMG... DARK ORANGE! Not at all the nice light golden shade I was expecting! Plus, as you said, this totally dried my skin out. I was really disappointed to have to package up yet ANOTHER new foundation fail to go back to Sephora, because like you, I really wanted this one to work!

I agree! I tried mine for the time today and washed it off mid day it looked so bad! It was extremely aging and began to breakdown after a few hours. It’s already back in the box to be returned lol.

Same! It broke me too, my skin felt irritated. My favorite is MUFE HD Skin & the newly reformulated Lancôme Tient Idole 24hr is beautiful too…both are long wearing & work for my sensitive skin 😊

I really wanted to like this because I love a good skin tint, and the shade that I got is actually a really good match for me, but it’s extremely drying for my skin. I don’t understand how some thing can be marketed as a glow, but be so drying, I use the bareMinerals complexion rescue And it’s like night and day that is my go to. I just wanted to try something different but I’ll be returning this and just getting the complexion rescue instead.

You're giving us Hollywood starlet vibes with the side part and bouncy hair 🤩Sorry this didn't work for you but yesss, the MAC F&B is so soo good and cheaper! It was one of the few things I could wear when I started Tretinoin. Plus none of the strong scent of Too Faced products. You made it work though, so spring-y and pretty in pink! 🌷
Edit: The MAC is on sale for $33 at Macy's. You could consider linking the products you do recommend.

I just bought & tried this foundation on this morning & only thing I had on my face is my holy grail moisturizing cream ….& this foundation still made my face look dry & yes it did cling on to small dry patches I guess I have 😂 This foundation also just sits on your skin doesn’t absorb. It has to be a true Matte foundation without glow or dewiness. I will return this ASAP & just swap & pay a higher price for something else. I think this True Matte foundation will be good for Oily skin gals. Thanks for the review Tanya! Love 💕 your honesty … Best & until your next review

Hi Tanya, have you found a foundation that remains on even if you go to the dentist? Or is it just best not to wear foundation for that? I always wondered about this. Really enjoy your videos by the way. Love the detail you go into :)
Hm.. there are some super long wearing foundations out there, like the Estee Lauder Double Wear, the YSL, this new Guerlain lasts so well, but I can’t say I tested it out at the dentist:) I just don’t wear makeup when I go there.

Unrelated but do you like and recommend the Dyson air wrap? Trying to decide if it’s worth it for the upcoming Sephora sale. If the curls don’t last and it frizzes, I may not go for it. Not sure if I’d want the air wrap or super sonic. What are your thoughts?
The curls won’t last with the Dyson! You are better off using a curling iron, however, I use my dyson almost everytime I style my hair!!

^ I have been off and on tret for 3 years and OH lord it's been hard to find tints/foundations that work well. I need dewy and hydrating. And for some reason my left cheek loves to be patchy no matter how i skin prep before makeup. can't win lol. For this foundation many people said in reviews saying it was more matte and not dewy.I tried recently Neurtrogena Sensitive Skin Serum and was shocked. For me it worked better and didn't cling to dry patches compared to ilia's which i hate. Would luv if you did a fav tints/foundations while on tret so far, because i need to find a super dewy one that doesn't transfer.
The coconut and ethylhexyl palmitate are not good for sensitive/acne prone skin! I’m staying away from this 😭 🌚

Okay going to dunk on Too faced right now. Its so hard to properly skin match yourself even in the store. I had their born this way concealer and I used that thing up but the one I finished didn't match me it was darker and I used it as a concealer and I already returned it 2x so I vowed to stay away from their face products since then. And when we want a skin tint we are not expecting a foundation. I would return that! Speaking of which can you do a best of skin tints? Also that skincare brand that does your primer has a skin tint as well.
Is it the SPF Skin tint?

I've never tried this foundation, but u said u were using retina & I kno wen I was using retina 4 the last 2 years, no foundation & nothing absolutely nothing looked good on my skin bc the retina was so drying on my skin & it was also making my skin peel,I kept blaming products I was using & finally realized the retina was just severely dehydrating my skin..I have only not been using retina 4 about 3weeks & my skin is still not 💯 back 2 normal but it is getting better.. maybe it's not a good foundation idk,but I do know if ur using retina at least 4 certain people it's extremely dehydrating
Yes I think using that definitely affects the skin, but I’ve tried multiple foundations and none of them did this to my skin. I’ve tried from Matte to glowy to tinted moisturizers and this was the worst out of all of them, but I do think that the RetinA affects the foundation for sure, I was just not expecting it to be this bad😬

Dior face and body is so versatile, use it with a beauty blender and it gives such a skintint effect because its so thin and watery, too faced will be a pass
I was looking into this foundation and it’s a hard no for me, instead I was influenced to purchase the new Guerlain Terracotta foundation.

Thank you for suffering so we don't have to! I didn't like this on your skin. It just didn't play well at all. I think it would behave even worse on dry mature skin like my own. I also think it's seriously overpriced. Neutrogena Hydro Boost tint is about $10 and looks beautiful on dry skin, even when it has texture or peeling. Too Faced needs to do their homework and get it right. 😊

I could totally relate to the hair on the face. I have a cat, and her fur gets everywhere. It's the worst after I do my skincare especially.
I think this was even worse to because you said you were starting to use retinol so your face is peeling from that, so it made it even worse, but you've also tried other foundations and they weren't bad like this one, so that really is unfortunate. I think this one is extremely overpriced for what you got.
I hope you ended up returning it, because I doubt you're going to be using it again after the round up.

I wiped the primer off after the first try at application. Washed my face and applied the foundation again

That was the silicone mixing with water based foundation. The primers and foundation have to match or it will pill.
I wiped off the primer after it started peeling and tried again without it and it did the same thing. So in the testwear I had no primer
Also I checked that the foundation actually has dimethicone in it..
