He impressed JYP but JYP didn't feel he had what he was looking for so he called his friend Bang Si-Hyuk(Yep they are still on friendly terms, Bang Si-Hyuk also use to work for JYP which someone else already mentioned) and he told him about our ball of sunshine. 2- J-hope had a background in singing and obviously dancing, he was brought on as a trainee of BigHit with the intent to use those talents, but the only group 'Hitman' Bang was putting together was an all rap/hip-hop group so J-hope learned to rap, I know a lot of ARMYs came into some misinformation about him being a singer first then switching with V but that never actually happened.J-hope was the third one in the BTS lineup we have now but he was like the 4th or 5th person to join the rap/hip hop group which consisted of RM,Suga, Iron, Supreme Boi, one other guy who's name I always forget, and then J-hope. Jimin and Jhope are actually the only two of the BTS members that are still roommates. Cause they're definitely wealthy enough for their own space (long past the days of one bedroom apartment, God bless) but they said they want to stay roommates. Jihope eternal roommates! JYP is one of the biggest entertainment company in S.Korea. Funfact: Bang Pd(Founder of BigHit) used to work at JYP as producer, composer and arranger(I think) but left to start his own company. That's why JYP and BigHit artists used to work together before.
Also! In one of the Bon Voyages episode Namjoon said that Hobi is like another leader of the group because Namjoon takes care of things in front of the camera, but off camera Hobi takes care of the little details

JYP is another entertainment company. Knowing the entertainment of your idols is actually very important in the Kpop community. Eg. JYP, YG and SM are the biggest ones commeonly known as “the big three” as they are the most known for having the most talented trainees who make it big. That’s why it was such a big deal that BTS was so sucsessful being in BigHit, a small, unknown company before they became so big.
I just wanna clarify something that has been going around that not a lot of ARMY understand. Vocalist in a "Hip hop" group is not the same as a vocalist in a "Idol" group. People hear the word vocalist and automatically assume it's a singing role like how they sing nowadays. The whole group originally was supposed to be a hip hop/rap group, thus also why Jungkook rapped at first as well as the others. There really isn't main singing in most hip hop songs, but what they do have is a "hook" which is a part that can be sung but it usually isn't like a pop song chorus. (A good comparison is "No More Dream" and "Fake Love", one is simple and catchy the other is longer and has more vocal technique involved) All of the boys had classes in vocal training during their trainee years, whether it was for rap or singing, you still use similar techniques for both. This whole thing of V switching with J-Hope as vocalist is plausible at the very least, considering that at debut V's audition tape was of him rapping, and that either of them could easily sing a simple "Hook" in a song that is mostly rap. Of course BTS have grown into their own style of music nowadays and technically all of them can sing, rap, dance, and are visuals, so this whole thing of "roles" really doesn't matter so much anymore. Now as an ARMY from the debut days, I wanna say that there is an interview somewhere that they mention all this, or in a Bangtan Bomb, I can't remember exactly where but that's just my own feeling anyway. People are so quick to say they know something without fully understanding music terms, context, or cultural differences, (especially when it's not even in their own first language), so the best thing to do is take all the fans info (Video guides AND comments) with a huge grain of salt. The only info you can trust %100 is directly from the boys.

Funfact: Hobi is locally famous already even before becoming an idol. BTS was known as "the group w/ Jung Hoseok" among other idol trainees in their pre debut days.
JiHope is my favorite pair too!! They’ve been roommates for years and they’re the only pair that still shares a room. Jimin recently said he can’t live without Hope cause Hope takes care of him. And they’re the two members who most bury their own feelings to take care of the group but they’ve said they get to drop their guards and share with each other when they get back to their room at night. 💜💜 i need friends like that.

Apparently during their trainee days, jhope actually wanted to quit, I think he may have or was very close to leaving and jungkook cried so much that he decided to stay. Not sure if him crying is the reason hobi stayed but they've talked about it before and I'm sure seeing how much he meant to them would have helped 😊

I think his friendships with suga and jimin are so cute because they evolved. With suga he wanted to be friends but suga was a bit aloof in the beginning then jhope won him over and their friendship is so cute. Like the other extroverts in the group, jhope adopted an introvert member (like v adopted jungkook) and I love that. In the old clips with Jimin you can see jimin getting annoyed with Jhope and he says he hates when Jhope pinches his cheeks etc but Jhope can't help it because Jimin's so cute. So to see their lovely friendship build throughout their bangtan bombs etc is so cool. He went from being an annoying hyung to him to being a good friend who takes care of him. I wish they had the clips of jungkook cuddling jhope and sleeping at the end because it was so cute.

There are very important to Koreans and there are other two like SM and YG, but now Bighit is on the three big companies being the one with the biggest sales and it was just when there was BTS and now they have TXT. can I suggest you to reacting to BTS videos like daeng behind the scenes AMAs, Grammy BBMAs, MAMA, MMA GMA, festa behind, Run bts, Bon voyage, Burn the stage.... when you finished the introductions videos? the reason is the fanmade videos are mostly made based on the fan perspective and can be too biased sometimes or there is a misinformation inside, if you react to BTS videos from their platform you can know better from BTS perspectives themselves, seems like sometimes you trust so much the informations that the fan made in their compilations and think that yoongi is like that or RM is like that based only on what the fan said in their compilation, sometimes it's true but sometimes it's only to show you what the fans wants you to know about them not the real them, so please please can you do that after the introductions video And ARMY what do you think? is it a good suggestion?

The first vocalist was added in June 2011, it was Jungkook. Basically BigHit changed their vision and wanted to create an idol group. This was probably a main reason why some rappers left the dorm and Supreme Boi chose to become a producer.

3.J-hope isn't a lead dancer as it is mentioned in this video. J-hope has two positions when it comes to dance. First, he is a DANCE LEADER in BTS, that means he teaches other members choreo, sometimes adds his own choreography and also he's responsible for BTS live performances- he's the person who checks if they are in perfect synchro , if members remember their parts and so on. He's like the right hand of BTS dance director/main choreographer Mr Son Sung Deuk.
Second, he's a MAIN DANCER (just like Jimin). And the hierarchy goes: main>lead>sub .
4. He's a sub-vocalist in BTS, with over 20 songs in which he sings or do a "melodic rap" (start with singing and then moves to rapping - like in "Tommorow" and many more), he also does many hidden/background vocals in BTS songs harmonizing with the vocal line like in "Spring Day", "I Need You", "Let Go".

J-hope just as the rest of the rap line has been very involved in writing and composing BTS music. Up till now he has 86 writing and composing credits at KOMCA (The Korea Music Copyright Association). I really don't like how many fans (also who made these intro guides) very often omit him when it comes to writing in BTS, it's not nice since he has been doing it since their debut.
Him releasing his solo mixtape a year ago wasn't something he plucked out of the air, of course years of writing lyrics, making melodies, being Recording Engineering (mostly on "Wings" album) and also occasionally co-producing gave him the confidence and abilities to do a solo stuff.
Ok, so lastly I'm very glad you like and appreciate Hobi (the Golden Hyung) and find him a very powerful performer. And that's how most of people really start to appreciate him more by seeing him live :)

JYP is another entertainment company. Knowing the entertainment of your idols is actually very important in the Kpop community. Eg. JYP, YG and SM are the biggest ones commeonly known as “the big three” as they are the most known for having the most talented trainees who make it big. That’s why it was such a big deal that BTS was so sucsessful being in BigHit, a small, unknown company before they became so big.
I just wanna clarify something that has been going around that not a lot of ARMY understand. Vocalist in a "Hip hop" group is not the same as a vocalist in a "Idol" group. People hear the word vocalist and automatically assume it's a singing role like how they sing nowadays. The whole group originally was supposed to be a hip hop/rap group, thus also why Jungkook rapped at first as well as the others. There really isn't main singing in most hip hop songs, but what they do have is a "hook" which is a part that can be sung but it usually isn't like a pop song chorus. (A good comparison is "No More Dream" and "Fake Love", one is simple and catchy the other is longer and has more vocal technique involved) All of the boys had classes in vocal training during their trainee years, whether it was for rap or singing, you still use similar techniques for both. This whole thing of V switching with J-Hope as vocalist is plausible at the very least, considering that at debut V's audition tape was of him rapping, and that either of them could easily sing a simple "Hook" in a song that is mostly rap. Of course BTS have grown into their own style of music nowadays and technically all of them can sing, rap, dance, and are visuals, so this whole thing of "roles" really doesn't matter so much anymore. Now as an ARMY from the debut days, I wanna say that there is an interview somewhere that they mention all this, or in a Bangtan Bomb, I can't remember exactly where but that's just my own feeling anyway. People are so quick to say they know something without fully understanding music terms, context, or cultural differences, (especially when it's not even in their own first language), so the best thing to do is take all the fans info (Video guides AND comments) with a huge grain of salt. The only info you can trust %100 is directly from the boys.

JiHope is my favorite pair too!! They’ve been roommates for years and they’re the only pair that still shares a room. Jimin recently said he can’t live without Hope cause Hope takes care of him. And they’re the two members who most bury their own feelings to take care of the group but they’ve said they get to drop their guards and share with each other when they get back to their room at night. 💜💜 i need friends like that.

Apparently during their trainee days, jhope actually wanted to quit, I think he may have or was very close to leaving and jungkook cried so much that he decided to stay. I think his friendships with suga and jimin are so cute because they evolved. With suga he wanted to be friends but suga was a bit aloof in the beginning then jhope won him over and their friendship is so cute. Like the other extroverts in the group, jhope adopted an introvert member (like v adopted jungkook) and I love that.
In the old clips with Jimin you can see jimin getting annoyed with Jhope and he says he hates when Jhope pinches his cheeks etc but Jhope can't help it because Jimin's so cute. So to see their lovely friendship build throughout their bangtan bombs etc is so cool. He went from being an annoying hyung to him to being a good friend who takes care of him.

can I suggest you to reacting to BTS videos like daeng behind the scenes AMAs, Grammy BBMAs, MAMA, MMA GMA, festa behind, Run bts, Bon voyage, Burn the stage.... when you finished the introductions videos? the reason is the fanmade videos are mostly made based on the fan perspective and can be too biased sometimes or there is a misinformation inside, if you react to BTS videos from their platform you can know better from BTS perspectives themselves, seems like sometimes you trust so much the informations that the fan made in their compilations and think that yoongi is like that or RM is like that based only on what the fan said in their compilation, sometimes it's true but sometimes it's only to show you what the fans wants you to know about them not the real them, so please please can you do that after the introductions video
