  • I check out the ASRock B650E Taichi - a fantastic Socket AM5 motherboard for Ryzen 7000 processors.
It has nearly everything you could want from a high-end motherboard - PCIe 5 support, USB4, excellent VRMs, cooling and audio performance, more USB ports than you have fingers and it looks fantastic too. So why shouldn't you buy it then? Well, you'll have to check out the video!
Thanks to @ASRockInfo for supporting the channel.

Suggestion, start with the features of the product, then at the end of the review talk about your use case specific gripes/nitpicks. Most people will install the M.2 drives and never need to access them again until they fail. So not an issue. The big issue with the board that I can see is the total lack of pcie x1 slots that add in cards would need to use. Remember your use case (i.e. ease of test benching use) is not a normal one and should not factor in a review. I know reviewers forget that how they use these products is niche and has no place in a review viewed by people just looking to either confirm or steer away from buy a certain product.

You know you can use a 16x slot for 1x cards right? Unless you have a massive GPU it should work okay. I did think about the features - I kinda did the important ones at 2:17 , then repeated in more detail at the end because that's where the revelation is about the Taichi Lite - I didn't want to do that at the start because the rest of the video would have been pointless :) As for the M.2 - it's not an issue with this board because you have the PCIe 5 slot - can appreciate it's not much of an issue on other boards either for reasons you mentioned but on this board it's most definitely a non issue because you have that easily accessible third slot.

@@CrazyTechLab Yes I do, but what if you need more than one expansion card? Also, on most other boards the M.2 slots are blocked by the graphics card. My main point was to do the reviews, knowing that most people do not assemble and disassemble their computers often if ever. I am an IT tech and have firsthand experience with this. Just constructive criticism.

I have a question, could I plug in two 3090s in the two PCIe slots ? The condition being that both of the cards would be 3 slots thick. Is there a better suited motherboard where I could do this ?

The b650e Taichi Lite and the new Montech Sky Two GX, they will make a good pair for all black build.

Actually the taichi have back plates that matters. Also the thermal is better on the back and the chipset on taichi.

I would consider the lite version for a future build. Maybe another PCI-e 4x port couldn't hurt.

go with the x670e pro rs instead for same money. 5nvme/6sata no lane sharing. U dont need a vrm on am5. Altho if u need PCI-e slots this is not the right board either :D

Fantastic board. If you don't need the PCI slots. You can't use the second slot after installing a aircooled GPU.
The two nvme slots are more then enough if you buy big enough SSD's.
For the rest its rock solid in my system!
Can't say anything bad about it, after 3 weeks of use.

@@Daisudori the lane sharing on the taichi is negligible bc with a 40 series gpu, you not gonna be able to access that 2nd pcie slot anyway so who cares if it gets disabled when using the 3rd m.2 slot.

I just bought the B650E taichi. Why, it was in a 7800x3d bundle and only cost £15 more than the lite, i'm happy to pay that for the extra cooling (and the looks).

I'm rocking the Taichi Light, it's amazing.
    Rocking a 7800x3d, 64Gigs, 5TB storage.
The board is built so well, just looking a bit less pretty then the normal one. A few less options.
For me to pay 200euro's more... Was and is not worth it.

What storage do you have? Is a PCIe 5 M.2 SSD a consideration or do you view them as too expensive?

    • @FutureOfGamesNL
      @FutureOfGamesNL หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CrazyTechLab I bought a 1TB 990 Pro, plus a Lexar 4TB NM790.
Before this I had a old SSD. So the speed doubled/trippled, maybe even 4-5 quicker right now. This difference I noticed for sure.
But the difference between 7,500MB/s or 10-12.000MB/s a second.. How often am I copying documents or files from one place to another. Never!
My internet is "only" 1Gbit/s. Downloading + copying to the disk is like 5% usage right now.
The 990Pro was the more expensive drive, 120 euros. A Gen5 one is costing 170.
The 4TB one costed me 230euro, a gen5 is going for around 550euros.
So that's a big no for me. Save up, but a better CPU/GPU up the ram even.
