I love the stories. I met my husband the first week of college and we were married during semester break our SR year. Riding back to school after Xmas with his family he just said Why are we waiting? And we married a few weeks later. No ring - needed money for rent deposit. Coming up on 55 years and it was definitely the right decision.
This morning the true blessing of this challenge hit me: permission to stop before I get fatigued. I did 3 kitchen cabinets and stopped rather than wear myself out (as I typically would). Now I’m looking forward to the next day instead of dreading it. Phew! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
This sounds like a funny comparison but it is true: I'm vegan and in the vegan community we say "the world needs more imperfect vegans than it does a few perfect ones" which connects in my ADHD head because you can do more imperfect or unfinished cleaning than you can by cleaning the whole house in one day and then being dead. Lol
I realized as I looked at what we were decluttering each day in September that a lot of categories I could literally skip - clothes, make up, jewelry, medicines, the bathroom cabinets. I’m always tossing stuff. I’ve gotten rid of books and 2 loaf pans from my kitchen and some random stuff from my desk. I still need to do my pantry but it’s not bad. I love decluttering! You and Dawn and Dana have inspired me over the last few years and it feels so good! My husband proposed to me two days after he had his tonsils out and I think he was still in pain meds. He was 17 and I was just barely 18. We married 14 months later, just before his 19th birthday. We will celebrate 48 years in December. We have 3 great kids and 4 adorable grandchildren. And I didn’t get an engagement ring until our 2nd wedding anniversary but that’s a cute story for another day. Thanks, Cass, for all your knowledge and encouragement. You are the best.
This challenge is working. I was waiting on my daughters nuggets to come out of the air fryer and just started looking in the drawers looking for trash or obvious clutter. Never have I ever.😊
Both my husband and I were married once before. After about 5 months of dating, I proposed to him. Lol. He said yes. We eloped to Vegas. We just celebrated 30 fabulous years together 😃
Oh my goodness, Joe!!! After that story I need for him to come on here and explain his thought process. LOL I am genuinely interested in what makes guys do things like that with such sincerity. Bless your happy home and children. He's very blessed you hung in there, haha!
As we're going through this decluttering I'm realizing I owe you a BIG thank-you Cas!! When I found your channel several years ago and got truly organized, it is now so much easier to declutter. Pulling out bins/baskets etc to eliminate clutter, it's so quick & easy--also helps you stay so minimized. You've TRAINED MY BRAIN, lol...which you need a huge award for!! Soooooo....THANK YOU, you truly changed our lives/household and I can't express enough gratitude, you're AWESOME!!!! Love, hugs & God Bless you 💕💕
Yes grateful for your work Cass. This is a great challenge! I cant seem to reply elsewhere. I did subscribe to your channel Sincere good wishes to you :)
We have been together since I was 16, now 57. He proposed the day I graduated high school. Our parents said they would pay all of our college (no student loans) if we waited until we graduated college. We got married 3 weeks after graduation. ❤
We met , dated and were married within 11 months. I just graduated high school and was 18 when we met and we married a month after I turned 19. We have been married for 50 years. Everbodies journey is different. You and Joe seem to be a great match!❤️
I never thought I would get so much decluttered in so little time. The biggest success was when I could put all my showergel, shampoos and hair conditioner for me, my partner and a regular guest in the cabinet so it didn't look messy in the shower anymore. I really don't want this series to end.
I needed a big laugh today. Thanks Cas! Poop or get off the pot Joe! You're hysterical! Thank you for 30 days of amazing decluttering videos. It's so motivating to have one each day. You are the QUEEN of decluttering and organizing. I look forward to watching your videos all the time.
Jewelry was definitely the hardest ! A lot of gifted items, a lot of beautiful pieces... That I never wear ! But finally, I'm getting rid of 20 pieces that I put one by one on a no-buy group, people come to make gifts to loved ones, girlfriends, kids, cousins... It makes me so happy !
I had a similar thing with my husband. We travelled to Europe and I thought he was going to propose on the Eiffel Tower…nothing, a Gondola….nothing. We then chose a ring we both loved in Amsterdam ❤️ We got home and I waited and waited. Months later I told him he had 6 weeks or the answer was no 😂 4 weeks later he finally asked me.
"Poop or get off the pot, Joe." Lol😂😂😂 My husband and I met at work in 2008. We knew each other just at work and started a Facebook friendship in 2012. I was doing online dating and met and got engaged to another guy in December 2012. All wrong. He broke up with me in August 2013 (via a Facebook message, right after I'd had major surgery. I never saw or heard from him again.) My now husband had gone through a painful breakup a few years before and came alongside as a friend. Held me while I cried over another man... we started dating (officially) 7 months later! We talked about getting married, but he always told me he couldn't afford a ring. I was starting to question... ok, where is this going?! Turns out..... he already had the ring. He proposed just after Thanksgiving 2014, and we were married in May 2015.❤❤
Nothing wrong with asking direct questions about marriage! Especially a few years into the relationship. it's your life, you deserve to know these things.❤
I have one hairbrush and one comb which my husband also uses. Nothing to declutter. BUT jewelry took us a long time. I never wear jewelry except for my wedding ring but after 42 years of marriage and inheriting some from my mother, I had a lot. I dreading going through it all but my husband helped. I decluttered about 70% but here is the amazing part - we divided it into costume jewelry and more expensive stuff. And my husband offered to deal with it all. He will take the cheaper stuff to a consignment shop and see if they will bundle it and sell it off and he’ll contact a jewelry store to see how to sell the more expensive ones. I don’t have to deal with any of it. Yeah!! As someone with social anxiety, that was what I was dreading and now it is a weight off my shoulder. We decided we’ll use the money earned for eating out which we hardly ever do. So look for outside the box solutions for your more expensive stuff - do you have someone who will sell it for you?
My husband and I dated for 6 years! SIX YEARS!! He too was going to college, not staying too focused, playing in a band, and FINALLY proposed after 6 years! We were married at age 27 and we just celebrated our 23rd anniversary! ❤
I am so proud of myself. I forgot until 9 pm after I had helped with a construction project. I got up and found a grocery store bag of stuff to go. Now I can go to bed.
Love your comment about "poop or get off the pot" when referring to Joe. I've had that same thought many times. Of course, I was constipated, but it only shows great minds think alike. 😊 Take care.
I decluttered my jewelry a few days ago when I was on a roll cleaning my drawers out. I let go of 150 items. Some trash but a lot I was able to put it all in a tin and gave it away to someone who truly appreciated having these beautiful pieces of jewelry. Most I forgot I had and my jewelry box was busting at the seams. Now I can find what I want and enjoy more of the things that I truly love. Enjoy the day
The chunkier jewelry that was so popular a short while ago suddenly went out of fashion in favour of single or multiple chains. I never got around to decluttering mine and I'm kinda glad now since they appear to be making a comeback. I'm actually a bit lazy when it comes to wearing any jewelry. Just leave in the same old small hoops or studs. Thank you Cass for all you do. You're my favourite. Real and funny. ❤
My husband took me to the Jewel box in St Louis. Asked if we could get a picture next to a beautiful ivy wall. Then reached into his pocket... And checked his phone. 😂 Two weeks later, he proposed at the Arch!
Dear Cas, this method of declutter is the only way I can manage. I just moved into a house that already had two households worth of stuff. It is so overwhelming but, following your methods as well the compatible methods of my other favs, I have bitten off small bite after bite. I watch all your videos but I’m saving all of these to watch whenever I am overwhelmed and then to keep the home manageable. Don’t think my hubby and I can ever be minimalists, but we can become intentional with how and what we keep. Thank you from the top of my heart ( I don’t say bottom cause it reminds me too much of butts lol)
LOL I almost died with your story. After 10 years together I just told him: "you know you should talk to my dad and get his blessing so we can get married already" that Christmas he finally proposed.😂😂
😂 My husband was working all summer on break from college and he said that he was saving for something.... I'm thinking a ring !! Then fall came and went and at Christmas time he started buying gifts for his family...I was like what??!! I was feeling disappointed I thought, i guess I'm not getting a ring.😢 Christmas came and he bought me a cactus plant and his family bought me gifts and I didn't think anything of it. Late that night, he finally proposed.. boy he surprised me!! I didn't think it was going to happen.... 25 years married and still going❤😊
Your engagement story ended so well!! I was in suspense 👏 😂 After 1 year of dating a guy I fell in love with, he said he had a huge surprise for me and at Christmastime, I waited and wait for Christmas Day when he got to my house he brought his father over for the first time, I had my family there with my mom’s best friend, she was almost 89 then, they watched as I opened up a large but empty beautiful refrigerator box all the way down to a medium sized shoe box, I unwrapped it slowly thinking the little ring box may fall out, so gently I peeled it away and 💥 there it was…A New Left Driver’s Side Headlight to replace my broken one…needless to say we broke up after 2 more years of me waiting patiently for a ring that never came. Plot Twist: he calls me upset and regretful that he married a gal who cheated on him twice, divorced, remarried the same person and is back with her, now he cheats, I am so glad I dodged a bullet!!!
Can't believe how much jewelry you have - I have a lot but doesn't compare with your collection 😂 I have been keeping up with you day by day and really enjoying the process.
I genuinely went into todays declutter thinking I was going to struggle as I really don’t wear jewellery, but I managed to find 5 things. Thanks for the commentary as it pushes me to think harder about the things I own
I must be doing something right because I am not finding inventory to eliminate anymore. I think I spent the last year doing it and so now I do it automatically everyday. This making me feel so accomplished. I just have to forgive and forget all the years I was an over consumer.
I go thru jewelry often but it is hard. I donate to a veterans group that sells jewelry once a year everything under $5. We dated 10 years, engaged 3months, married 28 years now!! Worth the wait. 😮😊
I met my husband in August, got engaged that Christmas. Married him in April. My daughter has going with her boyfriend for 9 long years. He just this weekend asked for our blessing to marry her .
We almost got married after knowing each other only 4 months. My hubby decided that it was too fast, so we continued to - live next door to each other! I had moved in to the cabin next door and that's how we met. After another year he moved in with me and we were married 6 months later. For us it was more a mutual decision of this is the obvious next step of our relationship. I'm glad we waited and got to know each other better. We've been married 27 years.
We were a blind date, & my husband proposed after we only knew each other for one month. I knew how I felt about him but wasn’t sure how he felt & his timing, being only one month. So I asked him “why.” I obviously liked his answer, a year later, after my college graduation, we got married. This past year, we celebrated our 41st anniversary.
I finally solved my necklace tangle problem. I have a system which I devised where my necklaces hang. They still always tangled. Recently I found the tiniest jewelry zip lock bags, put a small slit in the very top of the zip closure--not in the bag itself. I was able to hang the zip lock bags and see them all. A bonus is that because the slit is not in the bag itself the real silver doesn't tarnish as quickly!
6 years for a proposal, another year till the wedding... then another 6 years till first child and another 5 1/2 till the second.... still together ... 40 years.... I think you need to be serious about one another for a year so you know how you approach holidays but 6 years ... and I'm right there with you, heard "as soon as x" a lot.
I cleaned up my jewelry when I was doing makeup because I don’t have a lot of either and even found a necklace when I was cleaning out the underwear drawer. Loving these sessions and totally felt your engagement story because it sounded just like you. After we got engaged I found out that he had been carrying the ring around for months trying to find some special experience but he ended up just doing it at home before my parents showed up for a visit. I guess that was his deadline.
OMG, I got rid of SO MUCH jewelry. 😳 And it's a total win win for everybody. I have space in my jewelry case for the things that I actually love and wear. And i got to make some of my friends happy by letting them pick stuff from the things I got rid of. And the rest goes to the donation center.
I am amazed at how many things I have been able to get rid of. I thought I was just a terrible housekeeper. There is just so much that I can get rid of.. when do when start on the attic? 😂
Done and dusted. I’m going to offer the “extra” to my young cousin and what she doesn’t like I will donate. Least favourite is a good way to reframe but often there are things that I have never work. They can’t even be classified as any kind of favourite. They just have to go!
These short videos of 5 minute decluttering are very helpful. I have decluttered most of the house, and these videos are a great way to re-visit areas to declutter some more. Thanks Cass! Also love your stories!
This was my favorite and I was able to declutter quite a bit in that short time! I will start doing this each day going forward to keep my home clutter free !
Well, this one was hard. I spent about 45 minutes on it and I got rid of quite a bit. I’m only on day 11 and it’s the last day of the month but I’ve been doing almost one a day since I started. I can say I’m loving this and also think the idea to show people’s before and after or whatever photos people have been sharing would be cool. I haven’t shared any as I’m not on Facebook or Instagram but happy to see a video on TH-cam. Thanks! Your videos are so engaging and not yappy boring! Love the stories for those who stay until the end…not sure who wouldn’t stay for those crack up stories! You’re a hoot!
I have a suggestion for you, it looks like your horizontal display bars are removable and therefore rearrange. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Maybe move the necklaces up to where the bracelets are and put the bracelets at the bottom that way your chains have more room to dangle without getting tangled to each other. You could also move the bracelets to the other side where there appears to be more room.
Ok, so what I did was got rid of 5 items but then couldn’t decide on a couple pair of earrings. So, I decided to wear each one for a day and then decide. The first pair I put on had a bur on the post, so it went in the trash, I’m on the second pair and I’m liking them. So, I think I’ll wear a different pair every day to twiddle down my ginormous stash of earrings. Thanks, Cas!
That happened to me too. 4 years of dating. We went out of town to a cabin and I could have sworn he was gonna propose there. He didn't and I was sad. But then he proposed in the sweetest way on Valentine's Day several months after that trip. All is well.
This story is hilarious. My husband also waited forever. It was a contentious time in our relationship as everyone was asking when are you getting married. When he finally popped the question he came over to my apartment in the morning, made me a bowl of Rice Krispies. When I sat down and started eating he asked. I was so concentrated on getting ready for work I didn't realize it. Now married for 40 years we still laugh about his creative proposal.
My husband got a Buster Bar from Dairy Queen and met me after my last final. He knew how much I loved them. He proposed in the kitchen while I was getting the wrapper off! We had an interesting, never dull, life together for 45 years before he passed. Wish we had been able to share more retirement years together. Glioblastoma brain tumors steal your person from you a little more each day. I am thankful I was able to care for him at home until the end. Day one of this challenge was incredibly difficult because of his jackets and coats and radiation mask hiding on the top shelf. I didn't accomplish it until today! I feel better now that I only have items from happier days in the closet. Thanks to Cas and all of you.
My husband and I have been together 27 yrs. Married nearly 20 of those. He never proposed. Instead of an engagement ring, my wedding ring is a full band of diamonds. We had a 'hey let's get married' conversation, ordered the ring & eloped a few months later.
I am so thankful and blessed to have found your channel. I really relate to your style of decluttering and organizing. This 30 day video series is very helpful. Jewelry is SO difficult for me to let go of! I have enough to fill at least 3 cases like the one you were decluttering in this video! I have a large collection of pearls and also turquoise, which were all very expensive. The problem is, I have so much, I have to dig through boxes to find what I want to wear! The idea of finding 5 things is so much less threatening than telling myself I have to get rid of a bunch of my treasured jewelry!
So, the majority of jewlery I have is for my at home business. I don’t have a lot of hair tools either…so I focused on the under the bed bins I have. Why in the world did I have an empty shoe box in one taking up sooo much room! Holy cow do I have more room to fit the other set of bed sheets I’ve had sitting folded in a laundry basket because I didn’t have room to put them anywhere else before! Found some candles I loved but they looked beat and are falling apart. Found some books I bought I just don’t honestly see myself reading. So a little more than 5 items. Farewell stuff I don’t need! Yay!
For a person who has spent time with tangled jewelry sometimes it is best to take to a jewelry store to untangle for you . If you really want to keep it. It does take patience to untangle jewelry. If you’re needing to declutter and don’t wear that completely understandable.
Listening to your stories are always so great! My husband proposed three times before I finally said yes. The second time was with a ring pop so it’s funny you had that happen too! Not that I didn’t want to accept, just the other times he proposed were so rediculous…. Hahaha
Same for me on the proposal issue! My husband (of 42 yrs now) gave me a tiny jewelry box. I KNEW this was the moment! My heart was pounding, I opened it up, and it was earrings! I was crushed but tried to not show it. He proposed about a year later.
@@jwuertz7101 I’m glad you’re happy. That means a lot. 😊 I’m afraid I wasn’t, lol. But in my defense this was a man I fell in love with in high school but we didn’t date until 4 yrs later. I was ready to marry him before we ever dated, lol.
Oh my I woke up this morning with a heaviness to sort my hair brushes and other stuff I have collected over the years being ex hairdresser and had started then you popped up so jewellery next I have been decluttering for over a year with you and others and it's getting easier everytime but not there yet the permission to bin things has helped alot expensive could help others the many trips to charity shops which is another big effort but to be allowed to bin it and it's gone is so freeing xxxx
My husband also proposed after I was super ready to get married to him. We met in college and I waited for him for 3 years in law school. He said after he took the bar, he would propose. It took him 4 paychecks to finally be ready.
Admittedly ours is a later in life relationship but knowing he was and would continue to be the love of my life, after 5 years together I plucked up courage and proposed. He was nervous of being hurt again after his previous 38 year marriage had ended so he asked if he could think about it. I understood and let it be with the very occasional joke about “have you made up mind yet?” 3 years ago he started talking about marriage one morning and I asked him if he was asking me to marry him …. His answer …”No I’m accepting” ❤
Thanks so much for doing this 30-day challenge, Cass! You're the best! 🙌🏻😀💃🎊Love how you're always giving us great ideas about what to declutter during each video! 🌻🍃🧡✨️ Love your end story, too!☺️💝🌟
Love “stayin’ til the end”, Cass! My husband took 13 years to propose! It took that long for us to live in the same state as we were both in college and then grad school after we met so we had a long distance relationship for over a decade. We’re celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary this year. We’ve finally been married longer than we dated!
This morning while I was waiting for coffee to brew, I organized the kitchen wall cabinet where we have cans, etc. it is now organized and it needed it.
A few months ago, I brought my granddaughters into our bedroom and let them each choose several pieces of the my costume jewelry that I don't use anymore, so I guess I'm ahead of the game in this area! But there are some "OLD" sweatshirts that I haven't used in years that I better go through today! They are taking up valuable space in my closet. Cas, I'm starting to see just a little dent of progress in our house!!! This is the motivation that I needed and that is working for me in the older years of my life. Thanks for this great 30 day challenge that I hope I can continue!
14 days going strong. Thank you Cas. You have taught me a lot I confirmed what I had suspected my whole life. ADHD in me since childhood. More like ADD /OCD. Confirmed by my Dr of 25 adult years.
After I got ready for the day and my husband was taking his shower, I started looking through bathroom cabinet and found a lot of lotions etc. that were expired or we do not use. I ended up throwing away a complete trash bag of stuff. Wow I was surprised and I made room for all the poison ivy stuff that was on the counter. It made me so happy.
My husband waited 5 years, and I gave him an ultimatum. He then proposed. 😂 He said he was ready since year 4 of dating. It wasn't funny to me! Lol, Happily married still. 12 years strong. 😊
Every time you do an area I feel like “isn’t too bad” I think I won’t find anything to get rid of. But I always do! I like the more “rapid fire” approach these take bc I overthink n keeping things and if I quickly decide I don’t need/like/want something I’m able to get rid of it easier.
I paused the video when I saw you grab a few tangled necklaces, and got up to clean out my "jewelry" drawer. All the junk necklaces from awhile ago, had to do it while the momentum was there. Thanks
Day 14…& the day almost ended with me NOT doing the daily declutter…yikes! But, WOOHOO…it’s 8:15pm and I’ve done it! Most of the 5 items (?)…cheapy earrings that turn my earlobes green…the other items were keychains that I haven’t used in years…
I always love your stories at the end, but this one was especially relatable. Next month will make 7 YEARS that my boyfriend and I have been together, and we have a 2 year old. He's lucky I'm so patient.
I have a bunch of smell goods so when my niece and her mom came over to see my grandson, I let them go through my collection and take what they wanted. When they got home, my other niece went through their collection and took some for herself. I said no problem I got plenty more so y'all can come back and get some more. So that helps me get my collection down and they can use it.
So far, I’m ahead of you! I’ve done all of these things. I gave away about 20 pieces of jewelry that I never wore. I threw away a bunch of stuff from the bathroom probably the day before you did yours!
This is a tough day I no doubt have more jewellery than I need. Well we dont neeeeed any of it, but I like them all. Managed to find two bits to go and a pair of gold hoops my daughter wanted. Im going to count the hoops as two. So only 4 items for me today. Still feels good to know I love what I do have.
I have a crepe Myrtle out front of my home & I decorate it with old costume jewelry, wind chimes etc it’s fun to see them, & when they are done (rusty) I just throw them away.
I have the same jewelry mirror thing. I got it last year and when I did I edited my jewelry. I haven’t bought anything since so I don’t need to do this. I also edited my hair tools around the same time and I haven’t bought any since either. When I was done I put it on buy nothing and 1 adult and 1 kid got all the jewelry. I was happy that someone took it because they’d use it. We made an ikea trip today, bought a storage cabinet/shelf for the laundry room, so when it’s that day I will be so happy because I definitely need to declutter it 😂.
My hubby waited too long to propose. I knew he wanted to ask but I also knew he would let the romantic moment pass. I knew he would ask during the holidays but valentine day was coming up and he said, oh I won’t ask, that’s a holiday, I said, omg it’s the holiday for love, it’s the perfect time…I just knew he wouldn’t so I made him heart shaped cupcakes (he loves pie and cupcakes 😂) wrote will you marry me on them and arranged them on a heart shaped platter and sat him down and put it in front of him. He said, we need to go ring shopping, I said great but you still need to answer 😂😂😂. He said yes❤. We’ve been together 10 years, married 7 and have an adorable 3yo. I’m glad I didn’t wait 😂
This was hard! Velcro rollers and an old hardtop hair dryer from the 70s‼️ as well as a hair straightener which was a duplicate and a pearl necklace and bracelet and earrings that I know I'm never going to wear again. But I remember how happy I was when I found that old hair dryer at a garage sale so I haven't been able to get rid of it in all the years I haven't used it.. I am absolutely loving these videos!
I'm on husband 3 and definitely didn't plan to be married again. Wonderful man and I had dated/lived together for 10 years (he'd even nursed me through cancer!) asked me to marry him before our first drinks one Friday night in front of a crowd. I said yes. He did point out though that he'd asked at least five times before and I'd said no. So I pointed out that each of those were like 2 in the morning, just the two of us, and flat out drunk!
Decluttering my jewelry collection was probably the hardest thing for me. I had a lot of things that were nostalgic or belonged to someone I loved and had passed, but it wasn't anything I would ever wear, and I just felt guilty to let it go. It took multiple passes over many years to finally get to the point of being ruthless with it. I let those pieces go so someone else could love them, and now my jewelry collection is extremely pared down and so manageable! I wish it hadn't taken me so many years, but it was worth the wait and the effort too.
These videos are now part of my morning routine. I'm going to be sad when the end of the month comes. Anyone else?!
I look forward to it too. It’s like having friends helping me.
I truly look forward to starting my mornings with these videos!
I'm planning on replaying the videos. I will just move to different places.
I love the stories. I met my husband the first week of college and we were married during semester break our SR year. Riding back to school after Xmas with his family he just said Why are we waiting? And we married a few weeks later. No ring - needed money for rent deposit. Coming up on 55 years and it was definitely the right decision.
I plan on doing them again! :)
NOW WE NEED THE PROPOSAL STORY!!!!
YES!!! 😊❤️💍
Day 14.....✓
I'm in favor of you repeating this series every year or possibly every 6 months.
Is there anyone that DOESN’T stay til the end?? I live for these stories!! Lol It's like a reward for doing the challenge each day 😄
I turn the video off when the story starts☺️
Love them! ❤
@@LisaNix2 That's just crazy pants!! The stories are the best!!!! 😁
This morning the true blessing of this challenge hit me: permission to stop before I get fatigued. I did 3 kitchen cabinets and stopped rather than wear myself out (as I typically would). Now I’m looking forward to the next day instead of dreading it. Phew! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
It's the dread of the dread that drains us of our energy.
Congrats! That's a great story.
I think it would be cool at the end of this to see a giant compilation of people's before/after declutter pictures 😊
Most definitely!
Yes!
I did subscribe to your channel
Sincere good wishes to you :)
We have been together since I was 16, now 57. He proposed the day I graduated high school. Our parents said they would pay all of our college (no student loans) if we waited until we graduated college. We got married 3 weeks after graduation. ❤
That is so beautiful! Congratulations and what a wonderful gift from your parents.
That blouse is a perfect style for you - classy and fun at the same time. Don’t decide to declutter that one! 🤩
We met , dated and were married within 11 months. I just graduated high school and was 18 when we met and we married a month after I turned 19. We have been married for 50 years. Everbodies journey is different. You and Joe seem to be a great match!❤️
Same with my husband and I❤
I never thought I would get so much decluttered in so little time. The biggest success was when I could put all my showergel, shampoos and hair conditioner for me, my partner and a regular guest in the cabinet so it didn't look messy in the shower anymore. I really don't want this series to end.
I only have one brush, wedding ring and engagement rings, and two necklaces from across the continent, and that's it 😄
I needed a big laugh today. Thanks Cas! Poop or get off the pot Joe! You're hysterical! Thank you for 30 days of amazing decluttering videos. It's so motivating to have one each day. You are the QUEEN of decluttering and organizing. I look forward to watching your videos all the time.
I love the stories as much as the progress!
Months later I told him he had 6 weeks or the answer was no 😂 4 weeks later he finally asked me.
too funny .. 🤭💖
"Poop or get off the pot, Joe." Lol😂😂😂
My husband and I met at work in 2008. He proposed just after Thanksgiving 2014, and we were married in May 2015.❤❤
Joe is blessed that you waited.
Nothing wrong with asking direct questions about marriage! Especially a few years into the relationship. it's your life, you deserve to know these things.❤
I like to reframe my loved belongings and excesses by saying “ would I miss it if it was not here ?”
Out of sight out of mind is powerful for me.
Yay for me because I just decluttered all my jewellery!
🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you
You're welcome!
Two weeks later, he proposed at the Arch!
I was in suspense 👏 😂
After 1 year of dating a guy I fell in love with, he said he had a huge surprise for me and at Christmastime, I waited and wait for Christmas Day when he got to my house he brought his father over for the first time, I had my family there with my mom’s best friend, she was almost 89 then, they watched as I opened up a large but empty beautiful refrigerator box all the way down to a medium sized shoe box, I unwrapped it slowly thinking the little ring box may fall out, so gently I peeled it away and 💥 there it was…A New Left Driver’s Side Headlight to replace my broken one…needless to say we broke up after 2 more years of me waiting patiently for a ring that never came. Plot Twist: he calls me upset and regretful that he married a gal who cheated on him twice, divorced, remarried the same person and is back with her, now he cheats, I am so glad I dodged a bullet!!!
@@stephaniepapaleo9001 Glad you did too 😆
@@HeatherS459 I can laugh at it now, too much 😝 🤔 ?🎁?😂 😂
Can't believe how much jewelry you have - I have a lot but doesn't compare with your collection 😂 I have been keeping up with you day by day and really enjoying the process.
My daughter is the queen of de-tangling chains!
Not using old stuff so out it went. Cleared out jewelry box- Done ✔️
When I’m decluttering clothes, jewelry, sometimes it helps me to reframe by picking the things I “wear the least” to get rid of.❤
6 years for a proposal, another year till the wedding... then another 6 years till first child and another 5 1/2 till the second.... still together ... 40 years.... I think you need to be serious about one another for a year so you know how you approach holidays but 6 years ... and I'm right there with you, heard "as soon as x" a lot.
Hey Cass. I am too gonna be sad when this ends. Have looked forward to every day. You feel like a great friend to me.😊❤❤❤❤
I cleaned up my jewelry when I was doing makeup because I don’t have a lot of either and even found a necklace when I was cleaning out the underwear drawer.
I know you guys are happily married, however, Joe was a schmuck for waiting to scoop you up, Cass!!! ♥️
Hahaha
Hi Cass! Love that blouse on you!
Got my 5, thank you!!! 💕
Same for me on the proposal issue! My husband (of 42 yrs now) gave me a tiny jewelry box. I KNEW this was the moment! My heart was pounding, I opened it up, and it was earrings! I was crushed but tried to not show it. He proposed about a year later.
He gave me earrings at Christmas. Never a ring. Very happy currently.
But, all is good now. I was exactly in your mindframe. But it was worth the wait!
I LOVE your personality! Thank you so much for making decluttering fun!
Thanks so much for doing this 30-day challenge, Cass! You're the best! 🙌🏻😀💃🎊Love how you're always giving us great ideas about what to declutter during each video! 🌻🍃🧡✨️
Love your end story, too!☺️💝🌟
Actually did find necklaces and bracelets and earrings broken and least favorite ! Thanks Cas!!
8 pieces of jewellery gone, thank you Cas
Cas, This is a great idea!!! I am loving this challenge!!
That's a lot of jewelry!! I think that is more than I have ever owned. lol
Every time you do an area I feel like “isn’t too bad” I think I won’t find anything to get rid of. But I always do! I like the more “rapid fire” approach these take bc I overthink n keeping things and if I quickly decide I don’t need/like/want something I’m able to get rid of it easier.
Yes! I found my missing earbuds in a purse on purse day. Yay!
I paused the video when I saw you grab a few tangled necklaces, and got up to clean out my "jewelry" drawer. All the junk necklaces from awhile ago, had to do it while the momentum was there. Thanks
First time I’ve watched your videos and I gotta say “loving it!” 😊thank you and keep it up! I’m going to have to watch more now! ❤
Day 14- I’m in!
Day 14…& the day almost ended with me NOT doing the daily declutter…yikes!
But, WOOHOO…it’s 8:15pm and I’ve done it! Most of the 5 items (?)…cheapy earrings that turn my earlobes green…the other items were keychains that I haven’t used in years…
Thank you Cas. I have several sets of matching necklaces and earrings that I no longer wear. Someone else may enjoy them. 8 sets leaving. 💍
Love that jewelry box! Where to get that?
I always love your stories at the end, but this one was especially relatable. Next month will make 7 YEARS that my boyfriend and I have been together, and we have a 2 year old. He's lucky I'm so patient.
Yes, he's so lucky you're patient😃
I have a bunch of smell goods so when my niece and her mom came over to see my grandson, I let them go through my collection and take what they wanted. When they got home, my other niece went through their collection and took some for herself. I said no problem I got plenty more so y'all can come back and get some more. So that helps me get my collection down and they can use it.
So far, I’m ahead of you! I’ve done all of these things. I gave away about 20 pieces of jewelry that I never wore. I threw away a bunch of stuff from the bathroom probably the day before you did yours!
yeah, my current hubby never asked, never proposed, just wondered what kind of wedding that I wanted.....pretty confident was he....
Just had our 4th actual anniversary this summer. 14 years total.
My daughter waited 7years he took her to New York to propose she was blown away sending much love from Australia
