Jhum cultivation practice at hillside of Chandel, Manipur

Jhum cultivation is an old traditional way of rice cultivation practice in the North East of India by the tribes living in the hills. It has a minimal impact on the climate which had been practiced since time immemorial. There are only few who still practice this cultivation as it's their main source of income. Nevertheless, this practice has gone down drastically with the advancement and modernisation of people.
