It's charming to see such inelegant yet effective solutions to problems that anyone might run into. That issue with the PSU not fitting felt really familiar to problems that I've experienced before. It's cool to see someone doing the best with what they have, rather than scrapping everything and starting over with new hardware over just a small hindrance. That case looks real neat for that price. I might have to look into getting one of those for my HTPC. The motherboard in that machine is currently screwed into a board of wood.
I was waiting for a video like this one. Thank you! I hope that this one gets many views and subs so that you explore the capabilities of this amazing setup further.
Thanks buddy! Yeah the 3000g has some serious potential. It might be the best value fames-per-dollar PC setup you could build. I want to do some more tests of some modern games and emulation. More vids to come!
we have cases here in algeria for 30 bucks and they come with 3 rgb fan you can come here for 5 and go back for 5. total is 40 bucks! this case killed me when power supply didn't fit
Love that case, but can't get it here unfortunately. Your pc is quite similar to my living room pc actually. Case is CM Q500L (bigger, but similar philosophy), board is Gaming K4 (it was pretty much the same price as the M Pro4 at the time), with Athlon 200GE and 16GB ram. It's definitely slower than 3000G, but not that much and I'm actually using it for games and emulation. It struggles if I decide to open a heavy pdf, but it does game. I've even endured through the entire SW fallen order, frames were often awful, had some issues with occasional freezing, but I've actually managed to play the entire game. Had to lower difficulty though. Older games though work perfectly - and you sometimes just want to get lost in Skyrim for the 100th time.
Yeah this case was a short lived thing. I bought 5 of them over the past year or so, but they're not available now. If I had known it was going to sell out I would have bought 10 of them lol. And you're totally right. Gaming is gaming. When I fire up a game at low settings or resolutions or framerates, I'm a snob about it for about 2 minutes, and then I totally forget about the graphics and just play the game and have a great time.
That's not bad for the price. Unfortunately anything with Vega graphics is extremely overpriced here. Since the GPUs are extremely expensive people went to Vega graphics now that is also a ripoff Edit: this one is not overpriced here. I'm surprised.
This one seems to be flying under the radar. The 5600g is a great APU but at the price it's not at all a good value. $75 for 720p gaming is just fine by me!
Absolutely! 2 cores 4 threads at 4+ ghz is plenty for most games (with a few exceptions). That's the best part of these APUs. You can use them to get started gaming at low settings, and then later upgrade with a dedicated GPU and stay with the CPU.
I completely agree. All amd's low end offerings seem to be in desktop pre-builts. I don't know if they just don't have a market for DIY low end CPUs or what but I think it's an unfortunate oversight
any chances this cheap setup or other cheapest setup could run emulator (ps1, psp and gamecube) smoothly sir? which emulator is the best? duckstation, emuelec or retroarch? i'm planning on playing gran turismo 2 and auto modellista.
My goal is to release 2 a week for the near future. Someday I might be able to go full-time, I would love that, but for now I need to juggle YT & work & playing with my cat.
Yeah the price has gone up since I bought this. I got this from newegg. It was a boxing day thing. The prices go up and down all the time though, if you really want one keep an eye out and check often because deals pop up all the time if you pay attention. And make sure you check your local PC stores, you can often find deals and hard to find stock.
can i upgrade from athlon 3000g to r5 5600 on a gigabyte b450m-k motherboard? im gonna be using the same motherboard, starting first with athlon 3000g and will be upgrading to r5 5600 later on.
There’s better cases in the $40 range and that psu set up is going to get no airflow/burn out because it’s right up against the glass panel. What a dweb
What's your favourite case in the $40 range? I've been generally disappointed with most cheapo cases. The PSU is about 1/2 inch back from the glass. This setup doesn't pull big watts so I don't think the PSU is in danger of burnout. If it were a more power hungry setup I wouldn't use this mounting method. Or this case. (or any case where the PSU is tucked away in a corner of the case with no access to fresh air).
@@TechDweeb I always wait for Newegg sales during holidays to buy a case. I currently am using a phanteks full tower case with tinted glass I scooped up for $45 last year for the cyber Monday sale. Cyber Monday and 4th of July are your best bets to score a good case on a budget. I wasn’t sure how much room you had between the panel and the psu, but some is better then none, especially with no intake. All in all enjoyed the video. You’ve earned my sub

Thanks for saying so!
Ah yes the good old motherboard board. A classic do-with-what-you-got staple 😛

Genuinely shocked you don't have many subs yet! Keep the content coming lad!
I'll get there. Slowly but surely.

@@TechDweebdo you know what case is compatible with this setup?
Using athlon 3000g almost 1 year playing fifa 22 in 1080p feels great, want to play emulation game but idk which one is the best
It can emulate up to wii u with some configuration and a dual channel 8 or 16gb ram
That's not bad for the price. Unfortunately anything with Vega graphics is extremely overpriced here. Since the GPUs are extremely expensive people went to Vega graphics now that is also a ripoff

I'd suggest u play more intensive titles using lossless scaling since vega apu won't support RSR in the future
I'll give it a go!
Do you recommend it for low budget builds
Or should I just go to Intel as other AMD apu's are overpriced right now
If you could find a decently priced GPU, like the T600, you could play at slightly higher settings as well.
Absolutely! 2 cores 4 threads at 4+ ghz is plenty for most games (with a few exceptions). That's the best part of these APUs. You can use them to get started gaming at low settings, and then later upgrade with a dedicated GPU and stay with the CPU.
do you think amd abandoned low end cpus, since they did not launch new ryzen 3 for consumers, on the other hand intel has i3 12100
I completely agree. All amd's low end offerings seem to be in desktop pre-builts. I don't know if they just don't have a market for DIY low end CPUs or what but I think it's an unfortunate oversight
Great job as usual friend 👍
Thanks bud 👊

Should have no problems running those systems on this setup. I plan on doing an emulation video, stay tuned!
@@TechDweeb thank you for the reply sir. i'll wait for that video. have a great day. cheers.
Fun! That's what it's all about.
☝️ this guy knows what's up
How is it at emulation?
Yey another video

Im building a 4L sff for my wife
She only plays sims4 regularly
Do u think this apu will suffice?
Yeah I can't see that title being a problem. I think this would work well 👍
@@TechDweeb 🙏 thx
U deserve more though
Uhhh where did you find the prices for these parts?? The Athlon alone cost around $100… I only ask cause I wanted one 😞

My favourite bit was when you screwed up and had to go have a cry.
If I make it through a PC build without having a cry then I'm doing pretty well all things considered

Yes ofcourse, decent jump in performance, best would be the 5800x3d
If you like small pc cases. Check out the silverstone sugo16.
I absolutely love that case! Hard to find where I live in Canada though :/
@@TechDweeb It looks like amazon ca has it in stock.
@@TechDweeb I did a build. The only thing that was rgb was the ram. It created a subtle effect.
CPU temp is not healthy for a long run.
