    nice hunting skills and nice video.
    i'd just like to say big crays are really important to the ecosystem; the females produce eggs relative to the volume of their body, so big ones literally produce exponentially more baby crays than smaller ones. The big males are the only thing that kills the invasive long spined sea urchin, which especially in the north east is decimating the kelp forests and habitat which support crays, abs and heaps of other tasty beautiful fish. please consider letting the big ones go to keep doing their good work.

      Hi Daniel, I completely agree.
      In this video, no female crayfish were taken, as they do produce huge amounts of eggs. As for the sea urchins, the area these crays were caught in was completely devoid of sea urchins. This suggests that the biomass of large crayfish is high enough to control urchin populations, so it seemed okay to take some larger crayfish. I would not do the same in areas with urchins present.
