I liked the video, short and a good explanation, unfortunately not all channel owners have the ability to give good explanations, thank you and keep up the good work.
Thank you. Being new, I never knew prices could or should be so high. I saw someone else post some recipes for, what I know now was so cheap, so I followed suit. Lol I call it rummage sale thinking. No longer putting up a rummage sale sign. Thanks again!
Huh i've always made a point of posting the actual price of whatever it is the WTB people are trying to rip people off with to try and help out but never considered actually using that information for anything, that's a great tip! thank you :)
God bless your kind soul. Reminds me of a tweet I made a while back hehe ~ twitter.com/ArtteaESO/status/1348100299907588097 I also always try to expose how inaccurate those "WTB" posts are in zone chat so that no one gets tricked by saying something goofy like "at those low prices? same bro" ;p But I don't run any trading addons, so it's really nice to see people post TTC and MM data whenever the scalpers strike. Glad you liked the vid, and ty for protecc the innocent traders (:
Funny... I have had zone chat muted for years. Had to avoid eye cancer. I might have to have a peek at it when running my thieving/ harvesting build to see what kind of things are on demand. Thanks for the tip!
I've started flipping items from the Luxury Vendor. Zanil Therin in Cold Harbour has a lot of cute furnishings for sale, but only for a few days. I wait until they're out of Zanil's inventory and then sell them at the guild trader to those folks who missed out. For a small mark up. Sometimes I have to hold on to them for a few weeks before there's a demand, but I always make my money back.
Oh absolutely, flipping the luxury furnishing items is an amazing way to earn gold! Especially if you have the inventory space - holding onto items for 6 months or longer makes it so that you can sell those furnishings for double or triple their original value. Thanks for sharing such a good tip with everyone :)
@@Arttea I keep all my luxury goods in a corner at one of my houses. I call it the flea market. They hang out there for a few weeks until they're ready to flip.
Lol damn I sold my maps for like 300 gold on guild traders just cause I was clearing up bank space. Just started selling my items. Love your vids for the info needed to help this noob! =)
Oh noooo haha, I just got an ancestral reach motif from one of those maps worth 250k! That’s why it pained me so much to see people jebait players in zone chat when they first came out! I’m happy to hear that my vids can help you out :)
Geez, even as a newer player I’ve had a good time guessing the price of the goods I’ve gotten and I’ve helped other players decide what the sell prices should be but I still end up selling way cheaper anyways, it’s a trip though, I don’t even sell for max price I usually sell at half price because it feels like setting that max price was enough effort for me and I could earn the rest of the money some day. Idk why I do it, it just feels rewarding selling something to someone at a discount.
DuranceForest or whatever your name is since the comment is popping up, I’m sorry But I’m an Xbox player, got it launch but left the game after a month. But came back recently, I may be horrible at pricing in all honesty, I’m judging my success on the amount of sales I’m able to make. I can tell when I charge too much or when an item isn’t desirable. But in all honesty I stopped ever since the bug occurred where you can’t go through the menus in the guild store menu. So I may have lost my touch, and I tend to undersell now that I found out I can make money thieving. Wish I knew that back in the day, I used to hate it he bounties but now I see it as a layer on top of the thieving mechanic.
And I know that it’s always been a mechanic in elder scrolls but I wasn’t used to being so dirt poor that a bounty would make me have to leave the game for a whole day before I could play again. And this was before I made multiple characters too.
Since the High Isle dlc has been announced. I figure now would be a good time to invest atherial dust and gold furniture plans that will show at the Writ vendor?
Sure! I play on PC/NA. Before U29, the price of wax in my trading guilds wavered around 15-17k. Since the patch dropped, the price of wax in those same guilds dropped to around 13-14k. You can still find wax for even lower (around 11-12k) in other less-than-ideal trading locations pretty easily. Hope that helps! (:
I’m on ps4 and prices are way different but same principles apply. Have only been playing for about 9mths so don’t know the events and seasons but slowly getting the hang of this trading thing. Best move I’ve done so far is I visited every trader I could and bought around 120 perfect roe at market value of $6K each as soon as they mentioned the new cp system. Currently selling for $20K each :)
You're probably right, I am still experimenting with the sound, and I agree, I think I could afford to not have the volume so low. Sometimes my voice can still sound a bit "boomy" (problem with mic positioning), so I try to lower it a tad for the sake of your ears lmao
As a new player, I really wish someone made a video warning me what items not to sell. I sold multiple purple companion items to NPC merchants and flat out destroyed a few treasure maps.
You will have to join a trading guild in order to be able to list items on the guild traders (those little market stalls located in major cities with “Guild Trader” over their heads). You can apply to a guild by hitting “G” and clicking on “Guild Finder”, then browsing the guilds. Good luck!
@@Arttea thank you so much joined one today so now let's see how rich I can get and then use your videos to get even richer. But first, boring work then eso to finish the night.
I am curious...I been playing since beta pc eso...I have barely traded anything and when I did I probably got ripped off...point is I have never lacked funds. So here is the question...what is the purpose of amassing wealth in eso? Have I missed something?
You can definitely get by without ever having to get into trading - that's for sure! I had a good friend that used to play ESO and never once joined a trading guild and he managed to be pretty self-sufficient! He got all of his upgrade mats from doing writs on 10 toons each day, he made his potions with flowers that he picked himself from surveys and whatnot, and any time that he needed gear he would farm for it. However, having gold can save you a lot of time by making it so that you do not need to farm for necessary items, such as upgrade materials, or new gear if you want to try out a new build. Gold can buy you nice motifs, housing items, and even crown store items by way of trading crowns for gold through a reliable service like the Tamriel Crown Exchange, or from a trusted guild member. Personally, this is where I spend a majority of my gold - buying crown items for gold so that I do not need to spend any of my real money on new crafting motifs, outfits, crates, homes, DLC, etc! It is really handy to be able to have the means to get anything that you'd like in the game with gold, but you can also absolutely go about earning it or acquiring it yourself via farming :)
Good call! I did the same thing - stocked up on all of those super fancy Alinor furnishings and sold them for double their price sometime later! They were recently in the luxury vendor's inventory so you bed I did the same thing this year :D
It wouldn't be so bad if the buyers in chat who ask for items at such low prices passed the savings onto the people buying their potions, drinks or food. I mean the people making the potions, drinks or food need to make some kind of profit but the prices now a days... I don't see any kind of savings being passed on at all..
I hear ya. I think something that does happen a lot is that these zone chat buyers actually *do* end up undercutting their guildies - I've seen it happen in my endgame trading guilds pretty often. For example, someone will post a "WTB" message asking to buy, say, Artaeum Takeaway Broths for 2.5k each (1/4 of their price on PC/NA). And then these same people will list those broths for 7k each to guarantee a quick sale. The problem with this, however, is now they are undercutting their fellow guildmates who are trying to sell some home-made broths for 10k each (the actual going value). I've seen this exact example happen (I was the crafter of the home-made broths haha!) Now those poor guildies that hand-crafted their broths are in an unfortunate situation because, as you mentioned, the prices of actual RAW materials these days are super expensive, so they will struggle to make any profit at all even at 10k/unit as it is, and then even moreso when their own guildmates undercut them, driving the price of the crafted item down and robbing them of sales. But let's say the actual crafters of the broth were looking to buy raw mats in zone chat instead? Ok, yeah, I see where they are coming from, as they are just trying to make some kind of profit, but it is because of people like the example I mentioned above that make it difficult to do so. Hard to earn gold from crafting when you have people buying up crafted items for ridiculous prices in zone chat and undercutting you to oblivion! It's interesting to see the effects that these trading practices can have!
Great video! Gotta question for you. Have you seen perfect roe continue to rise in price since update 29 hit? What other products have you noticed go up in price since update 29? Very nice website you got by the way!
Wow, thank you for that kind comment :) I have indeed seen the price of perfect roe continue to rise on PC/NA, as well as a few other items; I will post the most notable price changes below The following items now sell for around this much (on 03/13/2021): Perfect Roe ~40k Diminished Aetherial Dust ~70 - 150k Aetherial Dust ~600k - 800k Aetherial Ambrosia ~70 - 150k Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia ~180 - 250k Alchemy Writs ~25k - 40k Anything related to xp-gain (like the items above) has experienced a significant increase in price, much like I predicted. It looks like the aforementioned items doubled or tripled in price after U29 hit the live server.
I'm always that guy that reads all these WTB messages scanning for the scam and immediately posting TTC price in chat when I find one. I get some salt from it occasionally which I find hilarious. And I always call out scammers when they're trying to get one over on new people or people that just don't know.
I agree and disagree with some of what you made. A lot of what you talk about, the negative aspects of SCAMS, is capitalism, free market. I personally, don't consider most of what you said a scam, since both parties are getting something. If anything, the one with more knowledge is getting a better deal. It is up to the second person to be able to think, and make the best deal for themselves. If they understand later that they got the low end of the deal, they can use that information to not make that same mistake again. Would not consider it a scam. Yes, it can be morally incorrect. Why? Well, you are making a fool out of the other person on the low end. But it is not a scam, maybe you were looking for a different word. Anyways, that is a free market for you. You either play the game with other traders, or you take the short end of the stick all the time. A person who can learn and grow, is the winner. But if you don't have the knowledge or ability to do that, then you are the loser.
Fair enough. Unfortunately, this mindset and strategy preys on new players and those that are uninformed. The whole free market argument I can see working when talking about the market - about traders, and people that list their values for a little lower than perhaps they are worth. They have every right to list their wares for whatever they'd like, and if they listed them for too low, well, then that is on *them*. But with this zone chat spamming, a third party comes into play. The people posting the "WTBs" are *tricking* uninformed players by suggesting crazy low prices (that's another thing, the prices are just offensively low). The way I see it, there is a difference between a person making an uninformed decision and listing an item on the guild store for 25% lower than the going price (whether done on purpose or not), and a person tricking a player into thinking that their item is worth 75% less than it actually is via zone chat. I think the former falls into this argument that you make, whereas the latter sounds more like it has the potential to be "exploitation". I'd like to be able to help those newer or unaware players understand the market, as opposed to taking advantage of their lack of market knowledge :) Not everyone knows to "think and make the best deal for themselves" when they are a new player, and there are not a lot of resources to help newer players understand the ESO market and how trading works. That's why I'm trying to help by making these kinds of videos :)
And flipping is why it cost soo much to craft a simple item like a chair by flipping mundane runes.. Quick profit by sacrificing the market to the inflation gods..
Haha you aren't wrong! Another way to view it is that flipping (and likewise, increasing the price of something) adds value to things that sometimes require it! If the demand is so high, why not? Now players that go out of their way to organically acquire whatever it is that is experiencing a price increase thanks to those flippers are also going to benefit! But yes, if a player does not want to organically acquire whatever is getting flipped (like mundane rune in your example) and isn't making big trading plays of their own, then they are going to find that buying what they need for the price that they deem reasonable is going to be a nuisance. It'll mean that they will have to browse the guild traders for a good deal - just like the flippers ;p
@@xX.D3DP00L_Xx market cornering does happen, for sure, but sometimes you really are flipping because of an increase in demand. To go back to op’s original comment about how furnishing materials can get expensive, this is a result of a whole bunch of them being required for new life festival writs (high demand), and not a lot of people farming the mats/a lot of farming bots being reported (low supply). It takes the furnishing mat market a while to recover when this happens. But during the new life festival is a great time to get your hands on furnishing mats to sell for these new higher prices thanks to the crazy demand for them. There does not always need to be ill intent behind flipping, although you are right in the sense that it definitely does happen.
"Don't undercut your guildies", excuse me, but how is no undercutting is possible, if they place an item for 10 000 when TTC recommends 200 to 350 market price? Lmao
Really eh? I have never heard someone feel so strongly against the guild trader system, but I think it would be really awesome if there was an auction house in ESO! Things such as how bidding works can be a little funky, and maybe not everyone likes having to pay dues or deal with listing fees, but it's the system that we've got, whether we like it or not, and I personally am really appreciative of the guild leaders and officers that manage these guilds and keep things running smoothly so that goons like me can list lots of items and make lots of profit haha (:

Yes!! The gold that merchants give you isn’t comparable to the kind of gold that you can get from selling things on a guild trader!
I bought 28 Aetherial Dust at 110k ea (286 days ago) and i sold them all at 750k in zone chat. 🤑
Major stonks
"Don't undercut your guildies", excuse me, but how is no undercutting is possible, if they place an item for 10 000 when TTC recommends 200 to 350 market price? Lmao
i personally fucking hate the guild trader system and it takes forever to sell items, normal auction house would be better
They need to increase the amount you can sell to atleast 50. 30 items is not a lot.
