At the end of the video the fun starts. If you are going to replace a broken shaft that holds the mirror to the side of the van, it's not very straight forward. You have to break down the motor box to get to the SPRING, WASHER and RETAINING CLIP. There are two large screws which open this up, as you do this the parts bottom will lift up under spring pressure and then you can remove the broken bit after removing the retaining clip. The new one you have purchased is now able to be fitted, but be warned , you have to do this in the reverse way, big problem is getting the spring , the washes and the retaining clip together. My TIP, crush the spring with mole grips or a plumbers grips , then tie with a Tie Wrap on that side , do the same the other side of the spring, make sure they are tight and the grip lock is on the outside of the spring. Then reassemble, The bottom of the motor first with the right orientation, spring, washer, then slip the retaining clip into the slots provided , make sure it's well in , then cut the Tie wraps, pulling them out with pliers. Next is getting it re assembled. Oh one thing, make sure, it's orientation is right before you cut the ties, or you have to start again. Push the bits together, there will be spring pressure to overcome to get the back of the motor box back on. The two large screws, do the spring end first, and another TIP get a drill and a Hex drive set as you will not be able to hold against for too long!!!. put the wires through and connect up. I couldn't get the wire block through the hole so i cut my wires, but i'm an ex Flt Engineer and Electrician ant this is my bread and butter. The rest is from my exploits on good old fashion thinking outside the box an British Motorbikes. Good Luck , hope this helps
Thank your for the tutorial i removed the 3 mirror screws. But now realise the door trim needs to be removed. To access the 3 connections. Before replacing tbe whole unit.
depends on your manual skills. even for me it's not exactly easy to replace the cover and I've been doing it for 25 years. So, no, it's not easy, but doable. everything you need to know is shown in the video. I wish you success
Great vid. My RHS mirror no longer folds whilst left one does. Any idea how to access the motor which folds it or if there are checks I can do before delving deeper and stripping mirror? Many thanks and a Happy New Year.
Thanks. First I would check to see if you are getting power to the folding mechanism. If that's the case, you can only give the mirror a new one anyway. Happy New year!
How to actually do you remove the heating cables from the mirror itself? I need that part and nothing can be seen as it covered by your hands during the video. Thanks
I had to replace both my T5 mirror internal brackets at different times. I think my passenger side has been replaced with a t6 mirror as the bracket is different from the one on the driver's side. But i cannot find a single video showing how to properly re-assemble it, the only videos are for the earlier style bracket. I have tested but it fell off again. So you have any videos on that? Thanks
Great video! Simple and clear. Thanks!

Thank you. I just need to remove and replace the upper cover. Is this easy to do myself, and if so how would I do that?

@@i-car-us Thanks for that, think I'll get a professional to do it in that case!
@@i-car-us crazy that the whole mirror has to be disassambled just to replace the covers
No, it's not necessary to remove it to change the covers

Pull them off. But becarefull to not rip them out of the soldering point
So hold the point and then pull it off

I need to replace the lower part of the cover on my new T5, can this be done without taking the front trim off? Thanks
Do not think so. All the parts are somehow all stuck together.
yes. pull the glass out.two screws hold the covers on
Можно
Great vid, thanks
The mirror heat does not work on my t6. Where do you believe the problem is?
Possibly a defective cable or the mirror glass itself. I would start by removing the mirror glass and measuring the cables to see if there is power
@@i-car-us thanks for a quick reply😊
