    Yup sprocket reverse, always change spacer with seal. Goop the splines with permatex gear rtv behind sprocket, and the spacer with the id o ring is a good idea...change the small seal also

      Sprocket was put on the correct way once it all went back together. This bike is long gone.

    I have the exact tool I made about 35 years ago along with a heap of others, must be a Shovelhead owners thing but they all serve a purpose, and as far as Shovels leaking I haven't had one that can't be fixed, I have seen EVOS leak a lot more mainly because of the owners just starting them up and powering off without warming the motor the same with some Shovel riders and there the dicks that say they always leak.

      Usually how it goes with most things. The ones that complain are usually the ones causing it. If I have the stuff to make a tool rather than waiting for one to arrive I'll usually always make one. I'm slowly figuring out the issues with this bike.

    Nice job. Just one little thing, you put your sprocket on backwards. It's gonna eat the chain up and wear out the front sprocket faster.. As for the leak, they all doit,

    Nice job..
    Hopefully this repair took care of your leak..
    When installing the master link clip..a.k.a...Jesus clip..have the closed end towards the front ..if open end is towards front ..if clip rubs up against something in transit ..it'll pop off..

    Did the seal work out for you?

    • @zippyindustries
      @zippyindustries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Leak is still there. Just not going to put as much oil in. I'm running 85-140 gear oil so it'll be alright.

      @@zippyindustries mine does the same shit next im gonna try that spacer they sell with an o ring groove on it i heard it works

    • @zippyindustries
      @zippyindustries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Worth a shot. Mine is leaking from those splines that run under the spacer as there's nothing there to seal it. Thought about machining an o-ring groove in the back of the sprocket to seal against the spacer. Then theoretically it would have o-rings on both sides of the sprocket and seal that splined area
