Just so you know, I call you my Covid friends. My hubby and I live in California, and we're both in our mid-70s. We have been extra careful to get vaccinated, stay indoors as much as possible and, basically, hibernate. Because of that, we don't get to socialize except thru "electronic" means. You ALWAYS raise our spirits😄 I love that we can "travel" with you both. Stay safe and keep on "vanning"😘
My hubby and I have been hibernating here in NY too Cheryl. He's in his mid 70's and I'm more susceptible because of obesity. Good thing we both love being at home. Best wishes to you and your hubby. Stay safe!
We’re honored to be your covid friends!❤️ Thanks so much for watching our videos this past year. Hopefully you and your husband will be able to resume your in-person socialization soon, but until then, we’ll be here!
Yes, but maybe they can find a brace so she won't need to do that. It could be dangerous to take her hand off the steering wheel while going around a curve, etc.
I never knew Wisconsin was so beautiful! As someone from California who has never been to the midwest, my main impression of Wisconsin amounted to freezing cold weather plus dairy farms. Thanks for opening my eyes to what it's really like, looks like such a fun place for a trip! I hope this incentivizes other states to step up their accessibility game. Hopefully some will invite you to take similar trips--will make for some great videos :)
Oh my gosh I got chills when Hannah said Door County! That's where we vacationed when I grew up in Chicago. Memories of the cabin on the lake, fishing on the long pier, hiking the woods, cute little shops. Maybe this travel promo is working because I want to go back now!
So glad you’re getting to do stuff that many of us ‘able bodied’ people take for granted, Shane. I love that you’re never one to typecast. Keep breaking down those barriers! Respect to you both. ❤️🇦🇺
Okay I love this, and it's perfect bc it gives disabled peeps ideas of where to go, and gives advertising to the areas that are doing it right. And such positive content out of it all
Ohmygosh!!!! This made my cheeks leak! My mom lived in Baileys Harbor for 25 years and had a house right on Lake Michigan. I can even see her place from the place where Shane took the long ramp overlooking the water. I remember when your hotel was an actual blacksmith shop. I know every inch of where you visited and miss it terribly ever since she passed away. I spent two weeks there every summer when she lived there. Glad you enjoyed your trip! Brought back so many memories! Each town has something special to offer. Did you enjoy a fish boil? Or see the sunset at Fish Creek? So many things to do! Eat at the restaurant with the goats on the roof? Go to the ice cream shop in Ephraim? I wish I knew you were going! I even got married at a tiny little church there. 💕💕💕
That bird walk/ramp is wonderful. I don't use an electric wheelchair, but I do have to use my electric scooter to get around and it is so nice to see a ramp like this for people like us.
I' m so glad you let everyone come along with you on your trips. I'm from Central Texas and my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren moved to Wisconsin about 3 years ago. I can now see why they love it so much. I'm not able to travel or I would drive or fly there to visit them and go see Wisconsin myself. I can hardly wait to see part 2 of your trip. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I love y'all so much!
Thank you for taking me on this beautiful trip with you! I am 78 and stuck at home right now, so this was a real treat for me to see. The photography was excellent, BTW!
My wife of 45 years and I love The Door. As native Wisconsinites, we have vacationed up there many times, including a few months ago. I also have taken travel groups there, as I drive motorcoach tours. It is a great place to both make new memories, as well as to recreate favorite memories. I ❤ your vlog in general, but I especially loved your enthusiasm for our homestate treasure. Eagle Tower was just rebuilt last year...they did a great job. I travel with many accessibility-challenged folks, and they'll be happy to get to the top! Can't wait for next couple episodes....we live near Brew City USA, and I want to see your experiences there!
I have never seen Shane so happy. The pure joy as he was able to fully enjoy all the many things available was amazing. Hannah, the love that is between you and Shane is such a joy and a privilege to share. I love it when you show the food you are going to have and Shane's eyes!! Bless you both. See you soon.
What a beautiful place! And that ramp up to the eagle nest lookout! The work that must have gone into that! Just amazing and such a blessing for the wheelchair folks! What a lovely getaway for you two!
I feel like Shane is the best friend I've always wished for. Love y'alls videos. If you ever come out to Phoenix area, I'd love to show you my favorite spots!
I loved everything about this. So happy to see a town get it right. And my favorite: the eagle call. Grubs, you made me spit out my coffee....so good. Lots of love to you two love birds. :)
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! This information was exactly what I needed for my son who is in a wheelchair. We are limited to things he can do and this is perfect. I never knew Wisconsin had this and I am in Chicago, Illinois. Definitely taking my son on a road trip!
First the boat tour with a stunning sunset, and then the amazing view from that Eagle Lookout Tower ? 😲 Because i have worked as a carpenter for several years in the 90`s, i really loved the construction, i could see myself being part of building something like that. The view up there: breathtaking. Beautiful mother nature. Wisconsin : You have some very beautiful and impressive scenery to offer !
I love the way Shane just takes off up the ramps!!! He is so funny!!!! What a great vacation. You two are priceless!!! You make me smile!!!! Thank you!!!
I’m often reminded when watching your videos how much I take for granted. Like getting on a boat or climbing up to get a really good view of something. The drone shots were amazing. Looks like a great place to visit. Thanks for sharing.
That was so delightful…to watch you being treated to so many things you often find difficult to access with a wheelchair. The water views were magnificent.
I have never been to the USA but when the border opens up I might just give this state a visit, I am 75 and am itching for a plane ride after hibernating for 18 months. The local tourism department needs to use this video as a promo for potential wheelchair access holiday makers. Love from NEW ZEALAND 🙃🥑❤🥝
I live in Wisconsin (not too far from these places) and this video makes me so happy. Door County is such a wonderful place. So happy you enjoyed your time!
I'm from Wisconsin and this made me homesick!! I live in South Carolina now, but I think a vacation to door county will be in the works. This could be the best advertisement for Door county ever!!!!
Door County is a great place to go. Each town around the Peninsula has something to offer, and Lake Michigan so beautiful. Each summer there is a cherry festival, we don’t go at that time as it’s too busy for us! Shane was in seventh heaven with all the accessibility!
I love my state and now I'm extra proud that Wisconsin has such excellent accessibility. Door County is one of our jewels, it's like a little mini Bar Harbor, Maine. So happy you had such awesome weather.
I used to travel often, and am no longer able to, due to some physical conditions that have overwhelmed me and the lack of partner/support, so watching your travels is quite lovely -Thank you for sharing❣❣
This looks like it was *such* an awesome trip!! It's so very beautiful there. I'm from southern Wisconsin and haven't been to Door Cty in probably 12 years. You make me long to drive up north; thank you for sharing your trip with us!
So I'm binge watching for Thanksgiving (for like my fourth binge watching session of them) and I had to pause *this* video because the song playing as they get on the boat, then later when they reached the end of the ramp are making me cry. So beautiful! So perfect. God, I love you guys. 💜
I'm so happy to see you here! I'm a Wisconsinite, who, thanks to you two, is much more aware of accessibility. I travel to Door County a few times a year, and, in September, I did the Door County Century, which goes through Peninsula State Park. As I rode beneath the tower ramp, I said to my partner, "This makes me think of Squirmy & Grubs. I hope they visit here sometime." And... You did! Yay!
I was just smiling from beginning to end watching this video- what a wonderful vacation spot! So glad you were able to enjoy it ALL!! You two are amazing!💖💖💖
this looks like a fabulous place - Shane was able to get around and see and do things - he looked so happy and you looked like you really enjoyed everything too...
Sweet couple I'm so glad u do things like this my husband was not as bad as Shane but I had to every thing for him .our little trips only a 100.miles away ment everything to him..lunch out a roll on the docks the sand for toes. The food... enjoy all u can u wake up older. Love u both Jan 2022
You guys do visit some beautiful places. I'm so happy to see you guys traveling around to different places and just simply enjoying life together. I am a big fan of your channel. Much love too you both. ❤
Everything can be made accessible if people set their mind to it! That boardwalk to the eagle lookout would be so nice for young couples pushing a baby stroller or anyone not wanting to climb stairs.
I love this, I'm actually from near here! A spot I'd like to recommend for any visiting writers is the Write On Door County Writing Center. If you're an author who would love to write in a beautiful wooded area, this is your place! And they even provide accommodations for visiting writers, but you do have to book it far in advance.
I live in a resort area in North Idaho. I plan to share this video with as many people as possible here, to promote accessibility in tourism. Great job, guys! Thank you for putting this together and sharing. I still am in awe of that hotel room and numerous outdoor viewing vantage points. How fabulous!
you showed up in my feed for the first time..don't know why but had no regrets watching you both...as a carer myself (for my brother - intellectual disability) it's nice to see a travel vid from the perspective of someone with a disability...well done..alas we're in Australia so I don't know if there are any disabled TH-camrs down under..
That website helped me so much when I travelled from the U.K. to Wisconsin to visit my niece in 2019! Especially about the info saying I could use my disability parking pass from the U.K. by just printing off a paper ticket!!
What a beautiful place! Imagine living in such a quaint town, do you think you would ever get sick of it?! I imagine that it would be a lovely place to live. I love that they have taken accessibility seriously and made all of those beautiful lookouts accessible for all. I’m sure you both had a wonderful holiday there.
I think that tree with the berries might be a Viburnum known as European cranberry bush. The berries are edible but only in small quantities. It becomes toxic if you consume a large quantity. So in a way you were both right 😂
I always thought they were poisonous to humans (my parents told us this when we were kids). But birds really like them. I'm pretty sure we tried one once (like just tasted it and spit it back out) and they are gross

I watch your channel all the time. I just want to say thank you for spreading joy and happiness to so many. Your postive engery is remarkable. Hannah is a hero. She has helped her husband Shane overcome so many obstacles. If there were only more of her and people like her people that are disabled could live a fun filled life and be happy. This is what the world needs more of. I'm sorry people comment rude and hateful things. People try and ruin happy things. U guys are proving everyone that this is possible. People love without judgement. Thank you two for spreading such grateful engery. I'll always come back to watch more. Its a inspiration.
I just wanted to share that Hannah is not a hero. She is a loving wife, end of. People are not heroes because they are in relationships with disabled people no matter how much caretaking they happen to choose to do. My SO is not a hero because they help me with my disabilities and chronic illness. I know you probably said what you said with love in your heart but please know that making heroes of people like Hannah or calling disabled people inspirational for just living isn't kind - even if you think it is. Thank you for considering this point of view that many, if not most, disabled and or chronically ill people feel. I wish you a good rest of your week, Nicki.🥰
That was a fabulous video .I love watching all the different places you go to .I love ice cream as well .It was a fantastic place for people with disabilities.Glad Shane got to see everything as well .Looking forward to the next video 💚💚☘️☘️
Wow can't believe this. My brother and I were scheduled to go with my parents, (who are in their 80's), to Door County on September 25 thru Oct. 2nd. Unfortunately, my Mama became ill. We were 1/2 way there and spent the night in LeCross. The next morning, we had to head back home so I never got to see Door County. After coming home, my Mama had to be admitted to the hospital due to a very bad UA and her kidneys were about to shut down. Thank God we came home, but still sad we never made it. It looks like you had a wonderful time!
OMG! So beautiful! I had to share this video with my mom. we have been going on trips together since my dad passed away in March. I think this is going to be one of our next trips! Thank you both so much for sharing!!
You guys are always who I watch when I need to relax or calm down. Seeing things through Shane’s eyes is really cool. And this was an amazing video, so cool to see all these accessible activities
I’ve been camping at Peninsula State Park! It’s truly beautiful. And everything you said about Door County being quaint is 100% true! And I love cherry everything!! Hope you guys got some dried cherries. They’re amazing 🤩
Door county is my favorite vacation destination….I have gone every year for the last 45 years. We also being back home a case of cherry salsa every year. Wood orchard is one of my favorite places to shop
I found the views and experiences of lake Michigan far outstand the ocean views in Florida. The ocean views in the Bahamas are so heavenly ,like I keep thinking am I alive or did I go to heaven. The lighthouse in Ludington Michigan was awesome, but unfortunately you walk like a mile and a half to get to it. unless by boat or a few times a year they do a backraod tour to get to it. Unforgettable experience I had there. Felt so spiritual!I love going on adventures with people on u tube and thank you for sharing the experience with me. Much love and light to you both!

The way you place your hand behind Shane's head is a form of non spoken love 💕
Yes, but maybe they can find a brace so she won't need to do that. It could be dangerous to take her hand off the steering wheel while going around a curve, etc.
It's nice to see Shane smile in appreciation of all of the accessability. His smile is so relaxed. Love from Delaware.
More love from DE!
"im gonna do my eagle call" "eagle" killed me
Same! I stopped the video to tell my husband 😂
Shane you looked happier and more relaxed than I have ever seen you. Hannah, you are radiantly beautiful. That was one beautiful place! Nice video!
We had the best time! Thanks, Beth!
Totally agree with you!! They did look so happy and chill and comfy and so thankful to be there and together do fun things etc👍🏻🙂

GBY ALWAYS 🙏❤💙🐕🤗✝️
You need to revisit this place in your new chair.. gorgeous.
A memory that will last a life time. The music was outstanding for that video.
We’re so glad you enjoyed it!
Shane looks like a million dollars in those shades!
Right! I love them on him, they suit him so much!
I just got a pair of glasses just like them and I get alot of compliments on them.
I am so happy you could enjoy the whole experience. But can I say….I just love the drone and the view with the drone. It was breathtaking!!!
I just love you guys, you always put a smile on my face.
