- Fr. Joachim gives the third talk of five at the 2019 MIM Annual Retreat called "Spiritual Weapons" and the need to avoid anger to win the spiritual fight. He explains how much damage anger does to the soul in this life and the next and how we can avoid it by contemplating how many insults and injuries were inflicted on Christ for our sins and how much reparation we need to do for our continued personal sins and those of others.
This series of talks is from the 2019 annual MIM Retreat held each fall in Bloomington, Indiana on September 27-29 2019 at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center.

I became so angry with someone due to their evil that they did to me which caused me to have evil thoughts towards them hoping for revenge. I have since been free from such evil thoughts but it creeps back up in my mind. Please pray for me. Please pray that I get delivered from bad thoughts and instead have loving merciful thoughts towards them. 🕇

The devil will strike when you’re most vulnerable at the times you least expect it. Then, when you remain silent in your attempt to control your anger instead of lashing out, you’ll be falsely accused through your silence. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Mother Theresa would say: be silent anyway.

Thank you a million for this teaching. I want to follow the Torah and the Gospels but I sin. Moses was he angry when the struck the rock as a result he did not enter the promised land yet. I am an angry person teach me. Injustice is rampant but we learn to be a Jesus when he was on the cross. teach us please.
Moses killed a man, not a rock. Clarifying your message
My anger is a quick reaction to something or someone, not premeditated. And mostly short-lived.
