Also, Erika was a dude. Guys especially have a tendency of hiding their true feelings for the sake of appearing strong, in control, and sometimes to make a point passive aggressively or in a self defeating way, as if having strong feelings are unworthy and must be dealt with personally, even to the point of shoving those feelings away entirely. This can be done subtly in a comment or to the extreme such as shutting out your friends. Etika wouldn't have felt so strongly about everyone to the point of taking his life if he didn't care. He also wouldn't have spent all that effort and time with us if he didn't. A person doesn't spend time with something they hate. He also said on several occasions that he did love us despite any moments where he may have claimed he didn't. He may not have known many of us directly, but he tried to help us and be a friend to us all universally. He had a big heart. Psychology is complex but when someone cares about something, it is pretty obvious.
His own community helped pushed him to do what he did last year. At one point he pleaded for help on stream but was responded with clown emojis. Always hated how his chat acted

On top of being straight up one of the greatest entertainers on the internet, the relationship Etika shared with his audience was truly special. By having the balls to do whatever he wanted despite convention, he created something one-of-a-kind. I’m so honored I could be a tiny part of that experience. Gone too soon, man. Rest in peace
