Canadian here. There is truly not much buzz around the 600 lineup on gun Canadian gun forums. The general consensus is this is a change to cheaper manufacturing, and cheaper parts, while jam packing the rifle full of features that aren't needed and add cost to the rifle while taking away from other more liked features. Like proper all steel firearms, good bluing and classic affordable Mauser styled actions.
Lets take the alpha for example. Plastic bolt shroud and bolt removal button as well as a super cheap plastic bolt knob. The magazines are now cheap plastic, though I do like the overall design of the locking and top loading, but they are flimsy plastic. A two position safety instead of a proper three position. Now to three features that are a giant waste of resources and could of been used on other things. A threaded barrel which is of no use to me as a Canadian hunter and only ads more things to go wrong. Barrel and bolt head swap that is now useless, and is fixed by way of three locking screws epoxied in place.
This new 600 line has left most CZ fans in Canada scratching their heads wondering who the hell thought this was a good idea. While the 557 is a good rifle, even the swap to push feed had Canadian CZ fans scratching their heads, and it sold worse because of it. Now the 600 line drops literally everything that made them popular in Canada, for a cheaper manufactured but feature rich monstrosity. When all people wanted was simple Mauser based actions with all steel parts and good bluing.
It looks like to get one of these old styled firearms you'd have to just go for a modern Winchester model 70, or spend the big bucks and just buy an actual Mauser. CZ can't keep up with the model 70's quality at close to the same price point. So it seems they've decided to opt for cheaper manufacturing, and cheaper rifles to compete instead in the close to $1000 market.
Can't say I'm interested at this price point with what they have on offer, just like I wasn't interested in all the other brands doing very similar rifles, that offer to many useless features while cheapening what I care about which is build quality and having it based in a classic reliable and tested design.

Ruger m77 est bien plus sympathiques. Ou les sabatti scout et classiques. Les chasseur français sont perdus et bloqué à cause de nos lois et traditions pas toujours intelligente
I have and appreciate metal and wood. But aside from all the hate that is probably warranted from loyal customers, when a reputable manufacturer makes changes for whatever reason this drastic there will always be fallout. I own a 600 alpha in 7.62x39. I decided to get it due to being blown away by the 457 I recently bought and my father’s 527. The accuracy out of this factory rifle with the new trigger is astounding. I also appreciate the fact that I can take this out in the woods in harsh weather and not worry about buggering the stock and metal on it like my “traditional” rifles. The barrel change feature on this is a moot point for me anyway as I have plenty of work into my rem 700’s and savages. This rifle to me is a honest down and dirty brush gun.

The last model to be top-notch was the Cz550 ... After turning to the US market, they discontinued the 550, combined rifles, express rifles and single-shot rifles and began producing funny rifles in just a few American calibers ... for the average European hunter, one such factory with such a rich tradition and quality, left only nostalgic memories

The worst thing about the 550 was that there was no mid length 550. It was also a very heavy pig of an action, being built to take magnums. Yes it was a good action. I'd say the last top notch CZ was the 527. Far more popular and handy than any 550.
@@cs-rj8ru It may have been more popular for medium to small game, which it was designed for. But the Cz 550 was truly a magnum action designed for big game/safari hunting. It was one of the last affordable rifles in this category, and because of that it had a far larger pool of customers world wide compared to the 527 which found itself in competition with a lot of good rifles in it's price category.

CZ Issued a safety warning a few days ago "CZ has recently learned of a potential safety issue with the CZ 600 bolt-action rifles that could potentially result in injury. You should immediately stop using your CZ 600 rifle while CZ further investigates this issue."

I am using the 600 for 6 month now (8x57is). The short barrel didnt like the sax 8.2g(fast) ammo. Now using the "slow" SB Spce 12.7g which is grouping very nicely.
CZ formally BRNO has always made the best and innovative rifles. Mine is a nail driver at 300yds. Target and witnessed proof.
Sadly I slightly disagree. CZ/BRNO had excellent designs when they employed old Commie designers. Now they employ boys out of school that are CAM whizzes and know little about firearms ergonomics and design. Only good thing CZ did in current years was purchase of excellent machining centers.
I called cz-usa and inquired if the 600 barrel replacements will include the 6.5x55 which is why I was looking at the 30-06 since the same bolt could be used. They said they have no plans to make the replacement barrels in that caliber. I can't believe they wont make it in one of the most popular European calibers. The US market has such a terrible affect on the manufacturers.
Try 7x64... Only European caliber they offer is 8x57
Well Robert I'm American and the 6.5x55 is by far my favorite cartridge. I've been known to buy shit guns if they came in 6.5x55 FWIW. Now, you have to understand 80% of CZ goods sell in the US and Canada, only right they chase that market, isn't it?
@@cs-rj8ru well I do love the 6.5x55 but the point is mute. I just saw where CZ has a recall on the 600 and they no longer will make it so that the barrels can be changed by the owner. My guess is some ass who couldn’t change a light bulb tried to do it and screwed the pooch.

I don't know what CZ was thinking, but they failed miserably with this POS. I looked at a post recall Lux in .223 at a local gun shop the other day. What a disappointment.
So no left handed trail!
Another crap from CZ...
When they changed the bolt in the 527 model to the 550, it began to jam.
When they replaced it with a Remington bolt in the 557 model, it began to fall apart after two packs of cartridges (the ejector pin was cut off).
When they screwed the picatinny rail over the original optics mount in the 557-RENGER, it began to fall off along with the optics right during the hunt. In addition, there is a very weak aluminum mount for the adjustable cheek piece, which got lost when I was riding through the bushes on horseback and simply got caught in the branches.
When they changed the fuse on the 600, everyone stopped using it and spontaneous shots began...
The further into the forest, the more firewood...
CZ - Aw!!! - maybe enough experiments??? Let's go back to the good old Mauser?
That "layout" reminds me of that awful bolt action rifle Molot tried to make. You know, with the oil dipped pine stock and walnut knob on the bolt????? Probably shoots very well, but just says cheap all over it.
Notice he didn't mention the trail moa? 2moa at 100 is not a selling feature, that's why. Terrible.

Got my 600, the next day they were recalled. I own a lot of cz rifles. This 600 is a bastardized controlled round feed,,,its not true controlled feed, and impossible to pushfeed because of the bolt face design……and aluminum in the receiver?????

There are continuous videos but no 100 yard group shots have been posted. At 100 yards, cz 557s are more successful. 600 series failed and wrongly made

@@Ahmet-O I wonder... it's likely the same barrel. Only difference could be the bedding under the new receiver. I'd say we need more time to shake that down.
