Hi everyone! I noticed a typo in this video. Around minute 16 when I am discussing the grit of the gel I mentioned and tried to list the Haircare brand “LUS” however it was typed out as something entirely different! 🤦♀️ I apologize for this mistake! It is a not word I would use normally use on this channel! 😳
Hi Courtney! I hope you can do more one brand wash days for drugstore brands. Personally my budget for hair stuff is $2 per ounce or less and I would love to see more products in this price range.
I switched to Redken few months ago (that specific line) and my hair has never looked better! So interesting to see you using this brand to be honest! I'm happy it’s not just that typical "wavy friendly" products because I could never find anything that made my hair feel this good. I tried the modified cg method for 2-3 years but unfortunately I wasn’t successful. My hair is finally happy ;)
The redken one unite leave in conditioner is my FAVORITE! Im a hairdresser and I use it to refresh instead of water or whatever I'd usually use... it works amazing!
I just wanted to say that your videos bring me so much comfort and joy. I'm not even really that into cgm but I can put on one of your videos and it instantly calms me down when I'm anxious for some reason! I think maybe it's due to your wonderful personality and aura it feels like you're just chatting with a friend rather than watching a youtuber. Thank you for making difficult days more bearable for me ❤
for refreshing, i find only using water and scrunching makes my hair frizzier. i need to use a product for refreshing to add some more hold to the style. my two favorite products for refreshing are the uncle funky’s daughter curly magic curl stimulator & verb’s manes by mel foaming gel! i use my spray bottle to dampen my hair a considerable amount, then apply either of those products in left and right sections, scrunch, and microplop. sometimes i diffuse for like 8 minutes and sometimes i just let it air dry. just depends on how much time i have to let my hair dry (but since it’s just a refresh without soaking wet hair, it doesn’t take long to dry). i know courtney has struggled with refreshing, i wonder if you’ve tried something like this!
I’ve been using Redken color extend magnetics shampoo and conditioner with Tre Luxe Reflex styling serum and this has been the best, most consistently good as a wavy girl my hair has ever been!
I like to use the lus gel under the aubonacci curlylife gel. I find the aubonacci a very gritty hard hold gel so I add a little bit of water to it and gently glaze it over my hair. It gives me great hold and the lus gel gives me awesome soft curls.
Yay more content. I hope you healed well. Have you ever tried the verb line ? I like their shampoo and conditioner. Smells like an orange Creamsicle. Plus manes by Mell another favorite TH-camr did a collaboration with them. 😊
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Finally tried it! Hair looks so shiny and healthy even though i have some highlights. Would have liked more definition, but i suspect i might have used to little gel, and also i was so eager i almost forgot to Squish to condisch, so my whole routine got thrown off a bit. Loved how healthy my hair looks though.
I love the grit scale. It's definitely super helpful. I hate when my hair feels really gritty after i wash it. It makes me feel like all that work I did was for nothing and i find the grittier my hair is after wash day the sooner i have to wash it. Less grit=longer between washes.
Would love to see a review of the L'Oreal Bond repair treatment line since it is the drugstore comp for the this line. And have you tried the Maui moisture coconut oil defining gel?
Thank you so much for doing these one-brand-wash-days! I know it must be expensive for you! But, you are saving all of us money, time, and wash days! So, thank you!!! Which, in your experience, have been great "max holding gels" and curl-enhancers for your hair? Have you done a current "curly hair routine" video to show us what products are working great for you? I'll go look at your video list to see! Thank you again for these fun and informative videos!! Have a great day!!😁
So what was the previous wash day line up that left your hair so cute? Also, I went to the zazzy band site and they don’t recommend their product for my hair type, which I appreciate, because I have wasted sooo much money on hair products of late! My hair is thin.
I bought the ABC line from Redken and I need to experiment with it more, but I find I really need to get into my scalp when using the shampoo. Trying to detangle with the lather is a nightmare if I don't double cleanse. I like the concentration and consistency of the conditioner though! I'd like to see a Marc Anthony or Eva NYC one brand wash day, or even Pantene! I don't use Pantene like I used to but I'm glad they're getting a lot less hate now.
Redken white one work really good look your hair more dark in the beginning . After wash with Redken much blonder with shampoo no dye . I use once month kind hard on hair . I don’t use Conditioner all the time I’ll make your hair flat . Redkin has curly line I never used it . I stick with curlsmith and ouidad . Not good use same Product all time . Take today my scalp hurt today . Used Medicated .
Maybe the shampoo and conditioner sealed the cuticle so well resulting in the silky feeling you’re talking about, but then left nothing for the gel to grab onto, if that makes sense. I wonder if you added another product to the mix that adds some grip/texture then the gel could adhere to the hair better. It might not be the gel that failed is what I mean, but that the combination of these particular products on their own was the issue. Oh and the silicones! I love some silicone, but I need something to offset the extra slip with some grip or it’s a no go.
Silicones are actually an amazing conditioning ingredient, from my experience at least. Of course I try not to go overboard because I love that silky feeling!
I really loved the redken mega soft shampoo and conditioner. ❤ btw being the opposite of you, and having a dry scalp is no fun either. I can stretch my washdays but I end up with a dry and flaky scalp. Still trying to figure out which products work for me.
Oh yes, a dry scalp is definitly not fun!!! Hang in there on the products! Try sticking with a set for 30 days. Focus more on your hair health. But if you are in transition that can make it tough to figure out what products are working!
@Swavy Curly Courtney finding products for my healthy hair is easy nowadays. But finding a scalp serum that works like bodybutter or facecreams is difficult.
Where on the grit level would the biosilk hard gelle ? Do you still use that? I really like that gel. It’s also holographic so they let you know it’s good
Courtney, why do you think some of us with wavy/curly hair don't respond well to products with silicone? First time use can turn out well but multiple uses it seems to get worse. It can't be that it's building up b/c we know to use cleansers that wash out silicone. My hair never lasts with silicone. Even water soluble silicones aren't best with my hair.
When I saw "LUST" in place of LUS I was confused! 🤣 Man that briogeo wash day was Something! I don't think you are able to replicate the same results with other brands (yet).
I know an easier way to refresh your wavy curls, just get Maui Moisture curl refresher mist. All u have to do is spray it where the hair is the most frizzy or the most undefined curl, scrunch, and BOOM! It gives exactly what it promises
Have you ever tried the Kinky Curly brand? That’s one I’d like to see, Kinky Curly Come Clean, Kinky Curly Knot Today, and Kinky Curly Curling Custard. If you’ve already done it, no worries. Have a blessed day! ❤️🙏
Your hair looks amazing! I noticed when you put the conditioner in your scalp and ear turned super red. Be careful, you may have an allergic reaction on this one.
I don't know why, but I just can't bring myself to use a shampoo with silicone. Other products, sure, but in my pea sized mind shampoo can't clean if it is also putting silicone on my hair. I'm using shampoo to get rid of that 😆. I know, formulations, blah, blah lol
I'm not surprised people picked these non curly girl products or even curly hair products. I think we all wised up to the fact just because a bottle says it's for curly hair doesn't mean it's actually doing anything for our curls. Too many lawsuits and hair loss taught us to listen to what our hair needs and not to listen to the curly girl natzis anymore.

I personally like Marc Anthony and hope to see that as a one brand wash day. I haven't tried everything from them but I like the Strictly Curls line.

Ohhh thank you!
@@lilkrissyy yes! Sometimes i'll mist if i need to but i like using it alone as well!
You should now try the new Acidic Bonding Curls system! Your reviews have helped me so much and tips!

Me too, thank you Courtney 😊
Thanks so much for the tips on how to help a irritated scalp!💖 Mine is extremely mad at me and I've been struggling to calm it down. So thank you!💖🤗
Oh no! I am sorry! Hang in there! I pray it calms down soon.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Thank you, Courtney!❤️
Could you try pureology? I am tempted by the hydrate sheer line for my fine hair
You should try loreal strength line.
Thank you!
Hi Courtney ❤ there is a leave in conditioner from the acidic bonding line available 😊 I use this on every wash day and love it!
Oh good to know! Thank you for recommending it and the feedback!
That acidic bonding line has a really good leave in treatment, great for highlighted hair!
Oh good to know thank you!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney np, love your videos!! 💞💞💞

You should try Pattern!

OMGoodness, it looked so great after SOTC… Too bad it went frizzy. 😏 Day two was still very pretty. Especially the back.
Thank you!
Did u like this brand better than the LUS brands?
this makes me kinda wanna see that one purple brand. aussie something?? there's a kangaroo?
Courtney has an Aussie one brand wash day here!
@Grace De Jong it came up as a suggested literally 10 mins after I commented 😂
Glad you found it! lol

Doesn't Redken have a curly line? I think it is called Mega Curls

I think they put it in shampoo for damaged hair so it protects it when its wet and vulnerable and being rubbed
