How did he get a DDS, Plastics, and Maxillofacial training and look like he’s not even hit 40? Plastics alone is almost a 10-year sentence.

Sleep apnea is a degenerative condition and usually the health plans pays for the Jaw advancement surgery to prevent other heath problems.

Honestly, jaw surgery is so risky. Facial changes can lead to severe depression..bone loss of face snd gun is common and so, factor in possible implants.
The minimum advancement is 10 mm and some studies say 20, so, yeah, you might look like an ape but sure, you breathe better.
Tmj often occurs as the jaw joint needs to over work. Lots of people need total jaw replacement aftrr DJS
The hardware can begin to protrude over time and cause severe nerve pain and infection.
I could go on but I have a ' perfect convex' - as per my surgeons assessment and yet he still recommended for a tiny over bite on one side and mild to moderate apnea.
Oh and you can also look forward to your nose expanding regardless of an alar clinch which doesn't always work.
This is probably the most MAJOR surgery anyone can have. You will most likely never feel your Lowe or mid face again. These are all NORMAL reaction but also, think of things which can also go wrong.
I wish surgeons were more Conservative and didn't shy away from how horrific and barbaric this surgery is.

I've been grappling with sleep apnea treatment for 5 years, not just sleep apnea but the treatments have not worked or made things worse. I'm looking for some new options, and was considering this surgery. I would like to hear more about what you are saying, your comment seams like it just the tip of the iceburg on your knowledge, how could we connect?

"So yeah, you might look like an ape but sure, you breathe better".
You can not fathom, grasp or comprehend the extent of hindrance being unable to breathe at night causes me. I will take looking like an ape over being unable to function any time.

@@perryhiley6749the OP doesn't know what he's talking about. The min advancement is not 10mm. You are not destined for an ape face with MMA. I hope you get to better health soon.

That is not true. This is one of the most nobel corrective surgeries you can get. When properly done (which isn't hard nowadays) it'll literally change your life. No amount of numbness on my face (wich is common in this surgery) will ever outweigh the pros of having a literally better life in all aspects. The "ape" look thing is complete nonsense, a more developed facial structure will always, ALWAYS, be more attractive. The thing you said is the equivalent of saying droopy faces and recessed chins with weak facial structure and poor development are genetically appealing 🤣.
