    Warning - Before you purchase this light consider the fact that it only has a 90 day warranty. I bought one and it died almost 90 days later to the day. The equivalent Defiant solar light at Home Depot costs twice as much but has a 3 year warranty making it a much better value.

    Bought 2 of these November 20th for a total for $70 plus tax on sale. One I had to immediately exchange. The next one went out three months later, couldn’t return. My last one just kicked the bucket in April. I definitely wouldn’t recommend these as a long term solution. They got plenty of sunlight to power the battery but I think the batteries are typical of harbor freight batteries. I’d spend a little more money just to not trouble shoot these again. I will say when they worked well the light is amazing, the charging system not so much. Very good review!

      Mine still works but I did have to replace the battery (see video description for details). I like how sensitive the light is to motion and distance - so replacing with a new 18650 battery was no issue for me given the cold winters and hot summers we have here.

    I bought this item and it would turn on for two mins then die completely, I returned it and exchanged it.
    I got the new one, I put it on top of my bbq grill out in the sun and on the third day it urbes on bright and every time I’d walk by it it would turn on but when I hung it up it turned on a few times each time more and more dimly... now it won’t turn on.
    Am I doing something wrong?

    Update 1/17/2021 - I had to replace the 18650 Battery on this unit as it stopped working 1 year and 7 months since putting it in operation. The voltmeter showed the battery at 0V. I suspect it died after few cold nights at 14F / -10C that we had last week. I was able to remove the blue "shrink-wrap" from the battery, the two stickers that cover the terminal, and remove the connecting leads (they were soldered). I applied them to the new battery and re-used the connector sucessfully. So far, all looks good and the light shines bright again.

    Lights my backyard really bright but having issues with getting the settings just right. It was turning on during the day time when motion was detected eventually going completely dead. The batteries never could fully recharge since it was turning on and off 24/7. Looks to be a issue on my part but wish the settings were a little more defined on the unit. (Update) 10/14/19 Adjusted the settings and everything working fine with no issues.

    does your light actually turn off and on like it should? can you show how you adjusted it? can you show it actually turning on and off? do you work for harbor freight, or bunker hill? I replaced this light once because it does not shut off until the battery goes dead. The new one I received does not shut off until the battery goes dead.

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I do not work for either companies and paid for the light myself. I do not have the problem you mentioned. Make sure it is set to auto and not the on setting. My 3 adjustment are set as follows: I set have it to detect / turn on as dark as possible (do not need it on when it is only starting to go dark), I set it to maximum sensitivity of the sensor, and I set the timing to be on as long as possible (~2 minutes) when motion is detected. Mine is set on auto. I did have it in off setting per manual, to let it charge fully, then turned it to Auto and so far no issues.

Because I can still return it if it's faulty

    • @ColoradoRMN

      Make sure there is no dirt / sticker blocking light to the sensor. Maybe adjust sensor sensitivity on how dark it should get before light comes on. Mine is set only to come on at maximum darkness before turning on.

      Mine lasted about 2 to 3 weeks before the battery went bad. Harbor Freight can't get batteries for them, so this product is no better than the defective battery that came with it. They gave me a "resource" that I could try, but it is a Proprietary battery. They told me to keep trying. Not much of a customer service department, is it? $45 for two weeks of use is pretty expensive.

    • @jimcoogan1529
      @jimcoogan1529 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lennyhart8031 The batteries are actually very common. Have them in my flashlight and an RC unit I have. Go to Amazon and search for ICR 18650. What matters is that it is 3.7 volts. 3000 mAh is a pretty common one and you can find it with the plug already on it. The difference between this and yours is that the battery will last beyond the 9.2 watt hours the stock one is rated at. Probably close to 11 hours.

    Does it operate in Dusk to Dawn mode, rather than detecting motion

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, there are too many LEDs and it would drain the battery too quickly. To do that, they would need to re-design this light, have only some of the LEDs on and have it only power at maybe ~20% of the light to make it last dusk to dawn. I do have dusk to dawn lights from LITOM (search online) and they are pretty good I use 2 to light up my porch overnight. Works great in the summer - winter time the run-time is 3-4 hours, depending on conditions.
