I love finding out what everyone is canning. Last year I could not think of what to cook for meals. I was really thankful you mentioned what your grandmother, mom, wife was making. I used a lot of those ideas.
I also like the rhythmic repetition of seasons with farm life. There are special places and buildings that do that too and it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the world we live in.
I guess Tracy is still on vacation? She’s so sweet and bubbly. I hope she and Matt have a lots of fun.

Pop Pop finding the joy in the baby calves made my day :) That's how my grandpa was on his dairy farm, we got to help him feed the calves, but otherwise, he just loved being out there with them, even if we weren't around.

Andrew, one of my most favorite Christmases was when my mother-in-law and father-in-law bought me a red wheelbarrow and the shovel to go with it. For a girl I guess that’s a strange Christmas gift but I wanted one so bad so I could work in my garden, that was my best Christmas ever 😄😄

Joel's channel, Its A Stable Life, has a video called "Ask Me Anything #1, covered a family chart. Joel & Gavin did an excellent presentation.
The family charting starts well past the 1/2 way mark. (The whole video is awesome, btw).
I did notice Becky wasn't on the chart though. 🤷♀️

Happy you now have the new wheelbarrow - very nice and sturdy. Should be an asset for the farm for years to come. Andrew it certainly shows that you love your work on your family's farm. That is so nice and good. Glad Grammy is enjoying making her preserves, and jellies. Your skid steer tractor is an amazing and very useful machine for your farm. Prayers for Lauren and your babies still to be born.
Next big upgrade on the farm should be a tracked skid steer! I think it would greatly improve the wear and tear on the yard with how you use it!

Seems to me you need a drainage tile dug into the ground from the sawdust barn down through the cattle feeding area.

Just get a 8in drain pipe and run it down the hill and cover with rocks. A couple of those will fix lot

I am sure this has been thought of before, but I do not know what the answer was.....Have you ever thought about gravel for the area around the sawdust dwelling and surrounding areas? Perhaps not entirely gravel but some to mix into all the mud?

How long does it take for a chick to age enough to start laying eggs?
How long does it take a chick to grow so it weighs enough you could butcher it for meat?
How long does it take for a chicken to age when you don't want their eggs or they stop laying?
When a chicken lays an egg, how many days can it sit in the nest and you feel it is still good to use and eat.
Ask granny if she has ever made currant jelly. In the spring, I buy 12 jars from an Amish family each year. It is that mouth watering to me.
I raise chickens.
The first 3 questions depends on the breed.
Notice the eggs are gathered at least once a day, some times 2x a day, this is to keep the eggs at their prime. (The bloom does protect the eggs as well.)

Easier to handle with feed. Since you don’t need to get into tight spaces maybe this will keep you from falling into the mud😀
