Idc that this was posted 7 years ago, I'm at that time in my life where I'm in desperation, I've been pushed down. And you had some very helpful and inspiring things to say in this video that I definitely needed to hear at a time like this. Thanks Drift :)
@@right..5651 Thanks dude I'm doing much better nowadays, got a new job and a new place. Got my life together and everything is looking brighter! Whether it takes a year, two years, or ten. You've got this 😁
These are the reasons I love to watch and enjoy his video's. He can be very deep and unafraid to talk about the things in life few have the courage to even mention. I respect that A lot! Drif0r Much respect, If we knew each other I think we would good friends. You and I are a lot alike. It takes courage to talk about life's meaning one day and then play video games with your dog and have fun. It takes a man, and respect for oneself and others to do so. I appreciate the time you put into TH-cam.
The biblical one would be like "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."? Hmmm, not sure what passage that's from! You should definitely make more of these old-school philosophical videos, I really enjoy them.
Thanks for the commentary. I am currently a senior in high school going through the college application process and it's very stressful when you have to balance that along with ~6 to 8 hours of homework a night. When I have time to actually work on the college stuff, I find myself somewhere like here. But you help me remember that this is one of those time I have to focus and prove to myself what I am truly capable of. While writing this I realized this may be good to talk about on the essays.
i love ur videos drift0r. your commentaries always make me think slightly differently about the world. ialso like these longer commentaries, more drift0r = more happy people.
Very inspirational. Made me think about my motivations in life. And the lack thereof. And made me realize that I am actually a better person than I thought. Thank you keep up these kids and keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the next philosophical topic
Driftor, I never knew you had such wisdom. You are above the rest. ❤️❤️❤️ The more you speak, the reallor you are. Driftor you think deep, feel deep, you are deep and cool.
I think that's definitely true that we don't realize how incredibly blessed we are. Even if all you have is a place to sleep, clothes on your back, and enough food to get by, thats more than a lot of the world has ('Murica!). Awesome commentary!!
Basically a great video. The commentating on this vid is by far better than anything else on TH-cam. Nice to see someone's values come out. I work in a field of customer service where I'm basically locked up with 160 to 300 passengers. Let me tell you the worst comes out in people. However 6 months ago I had an realization of who I was & that no matter who I was around I wagls going to change the atmosphere around me for good. You what? It has worked. My life has changed for the better
fun4drit0r: two circles, with the same central point, have the radius a, and b, b>a. a line is drawn from a point P to a point Q both on the larger circle, creating a diameter, PQ. a second line is then drawn through the point Q that tangents the smaller circle in the point T, write the length of the line PT as a function of a and b. tip: a fold can do the trick
This is entirely true. I went through some truly terrible times I would wish on no-one, and learned a great deal about myself and my resources from it. I really needed to remind myself of this right now - this video comes at a great time for me. Thanks :-)
Very good commentary driftor as usual! When you ask someone "who are you?" our perception usually goes to finding some way to have you get a general idea of my being that kind of moves someone from a complete stranger to semi acquaintance. So by saying "I'm David, the guy who is very reliable wants to be a film director" really doesn't achieve this. Instead, by saying "I'm David, Sarah's father or a machinima director" is the socially desired response.
Wow Drift0r, this was the type of video I want to see more often. Very, very thought pravocoking. I hope that some day in my life I can become a person like that, to truly know where I'm going or at the very least know that I AM going SOMEWHERE! Cause I've spent the last 5 years of my life all through out my teenage years being alone, not doing my schooling, being an outcast, believing myself to be above the rest of the world, but at the same time knowing I don't have a worth ethic.
this video speaks volumes to me driftor, i was always unsure about what i wanted to do or be and i still dont and im coming up 21 this october. I feel like the only thing i'm genuinely good at and always have been good at is gaming, but i dont have any opportunity to do this as a job, whereas everyone i grew up with are moviong on in life with jobs children uni etc. life is hard, none the less i loved the video and your awesome keep it up :)
I was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia at the age of 19 in 2010 and I've been to ICU 4 times and had to do ~3 years of treatment. It definitely showed me what I was capable of and I was put into remission(no leukemia) about 2 weeks after I was diagnosed. Definitely learned a lot about myself and my values in life and what I'm going to do with my life as it actually believe it or not is a very easy type to treat and I'm basically cured. 8 months with no treatment now getting my life back
how could anyone dislike this video the gameplay and commentary were equally good. the people who dislike this video are not ready to accept what he was talking about as truth.
A lot of people are complaining about the commentary but seriously the is a back button or turn your volume off. I do like how you tried your best to relate this to Black Ops which in my opinion is hard to do. I personally take a day once every three months or so and try to take apart my life bit by bit and analyze it to see who I am, and how I got here. Most of the people around me think it is a waste of a perfectly good weekend, but nothing compares to the clarity I get.
The most original CoD video out hands down! If only more of the community was like you Drift0r... btw why in the actual fuck had the kap-40 not been banned in league play yet -.- mlg bans it...lol
Also to latch on to your commentary, people should not be afraid to ask for help when they need it. It's all well and good to rely on yourself and be a strong person, but it also takes strength to realize when you need external help and there is no shame in that. Anyway as always, great commentary and you just gave me an idea for a commentary as well about mental illness :)
Thanks, this made me think about my current situation and that I only have a year and a half of hard work until I may go Uni. I need to keep working hard even though I feel like giving up more often nowadays
Thanks for the video Drift0r. It's nice to hear something like this since I'm kind of trying to find my way through college. I was trying to get a computer science degree, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around coding :/ I guess I just have to find that thing about me to see who I really am and where I should go.
I have a theory which is to be well-rounded in all aspects of life. Mentally, physically, and emotionally. Be fit, be nice to people, humble, and hard-working. I am very young but I have a much more mature view on life different from those of my peers in highschool. This makes me distant from others. However I appreciated your commentary Drift0r.
This is an interesting video, it made me reflect on my tough time I've had recently, and how I now view myself in a more definite way than ever before. Though I'm not sure I like what I see. I can't change that if I don't know what's there though, right? A useful video, thanks drift0r :)
drift0r have you ever thought of being a world leader? or a pyschological guy treatment job sth like that? because you enable people to think and they'll actually try this or that (I certainly stopped and thought of myself: Who am I?. Anyways have a nice day when you are reading this :D
That ingenuity is more what I would do than hard work. A while back when we were graphing linear solutions I hated graphing because it wasted my time. I ended up coming up with my own sort of equation that would solve for the system. It didn't mean much because we learned to do exactly what I did the next day with different formulas of course
I'm always being called the laziest kid in school but the smartest at the same time and I never understood what they meant by that. After watching this video and listening to you talk I understand what they mean I'm always looking for the fastest way to do something and it be right. This video gave me alot of insight into others view.
NO Driftor needs a therapist or keep going because he used to go. He has had a lot of problems that he has discussed in other videos. I like Driftor because he is so open about his life and problems. I have not seen another commentator on youtube well in a gaming channel like Driftor. Definitely one of the smartest people in youtube.
Great video drift0r, this is why I am subscribed to your channel. Though I am curious to know if you are going to have kids (or if you already do) and how you plan on parenting in light of your own hurdles fighting through a bad upbringing. Its of course important to become a better parent than your own.
Drift0r, your wife is a lucky woman. My impression of you is that you are a rationally moral man, who learned from his past experiences to learn and grow from them. And you think, take the time to think, not only your perspective and opinion, but about every perspective you can and address them all in an unbiased manner, and respectfully. even to the people who don't deserve respect of that caliber. I feel like you have a love for all people. But you don't let people walk over you. And...
Good video Drift0r. I would think that under normal social, academic and financial guidelines I am considered very successful but even so I was kind of lacking guidance, and didn't expect to find it here, but I did :). Always looking to my next thing was what I used to do but I guess I lost the mentality lately. Thanks dude.
My philosophy ... Seek the Good avoid the Bad, the Bad can and will become the Good once you learn from it. Everyone thinks something is missing but it's not, you're exactly where you want to be and if it's indeed missing then you simply haven't listened to yourself.
I had to deal with this back in 8th grade. I've realized that to know yourself, you need to first categorize aspects of your life (school, hobbies, etc) as being either being fundamental or sensual. If you do this correctly, you can pretty much see your personality based on the things you enjoy JUST because you enjoy them. In my case, I listen to music, so I conclude that I'm generally more on the "aesthetic" side. Try this out, and it might help if you're going into a self-knowledge dilemna.
I love the video, you are, as lamb said, one of my favourite TH-camrs. Don't listen to Kyle Wong over there, I like the way you post vids about what going through your mind. One thing I always laugh at is when people say they'll brave the zombie apocalypse and become a hero, because 3/4 of them can't stand up to spiders or bees. When crap hits the fan, I agree, you find the extent of yourself.
I read a quote from somewhere, but I don´t remember who it is from: If I could live my life a second time, I would make more mistakes. But on a side note... damn that emblem is sweet.
I know people say this all of the time, but he should seriously focus on these the most. He is extremely intelligent and deserves more credit
