Just discovered this today: the increased damaged arrows/bolts talisman can ONLY be discovered when there are enemies throughout the area. If you do a certain side quest which makes them vanish, the chest will not be there!
My favorite thing in this fight is Patches you summon him with everyone else and he charges up the hill a single arrow flies past him and he just goes “Nope” *Patches has returned to his world* He doesn’t die he sees what he is up against and goes “FUCK THAT”
Can somebody please fuc*king tell me what to do after I beat him I'm stuck in his boss area and I can't fast travel. I've tried dying and spawning somewhere else but I still can't fast travel
Im playing about 40 hours, stuck at Radhan for a while. Been frustrating, put away my controller. My wife ask me to let her try it. She’s play before that like 2 hours, and all the time she farming me runes, bones and feathers. And you know what? She did it! She kick his ass! Take 5-7 deaths, when I died about 15-20 times. What a beautiful woman I married. Love her! UPD 2024! OMG, wow, I didn't think that my simple story have so much feedback and likes! To be honest, it's most bigger number of likes that I ever have, lol Well, actually, in these years my wife surprised me many times, because after we beat Elden Ring she want to play another Souls and Souls-like games more and more. Before that fight with Radhan she's normally was sitting and watching as I playing these type of games, and when I asked to try she like "No-no, it's too hard for me, I'm casual player". But after that fight she start asking me let her try another bosses, and after that - trying the whole games by herself. And she played, and she win, and she learn, new souls-player was born just in front of my eyes. As example, just a week ago she complete Bloodborne and she kill Orphan of Kos, German and The Moon Presence on her first try, each of them. I told her, that she probably can't kill Orphan until she tries at least 10-15 times, and she says "Oh, okay". then enter the boss chamber and just disintegrate him. After fight she was scream, and laugh, and I'm scream and laugh with her. And I'm still like O_O, beacause that was... That was something! And now, in 2024, when Shadow of the Erdtree is upcoming, we are returning in Elden Ring, but this time it's she who hold the controller. Well, I hope she will let me farming some runes and feathers for her, lol And of course I have a little unfinished buisiness with Radhan, mwahaha
What I love about this game is how different an experience it is for everyone. I found Radahn really easy and got him in my second try. BUT it took me 40+ attempts to kill the Draconic tree sentinel just to get into Lyendell xD
No shame in that. Draconic is pretty hard especially his second phase lightning attacks are absolute pain in the ass and even one shots you if your health is anything less than 1000. You can take help of a npc summon there, and also cast some good spirit ash for added help

I thought Godrick the Grafted was way harder than Radahn. I mean just summon your companions and they'll basically do the job for you... no need to die even a single time.
To everyone who died to Radahn 30 times like me, there is a 100% success rate way to beat him. It involves the Rotten Breath incantation which can be purchased at the Dragon Communion Altar at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion for 1 Dragon Heart. The strategy is the following. You have to hit Radahn with this ability twice in order for him to start losing health over time. Once he starts losing health, he will never stop losing it until he resets for the second phase. After that, you need to again hit him again with the ability twice for him to start losing health. After you hit him twice and he starts losing hp, you should, and I mean literally, run as far away from him as possible. The ticking damage will be plenty to kill him. Keep summoning allies in the mean time in order to keep him occupied. PS: there is a dungeon you can access from his area after you defeat him. Best of luck!
I just did this and beat him first try. Easy mode. The first phase wasn’t the problem because I have bleed and can chop him down quick, but those meteors on the 2nd were a nightmare. Also, I had no idea how many summons there were on the island.
You can cut this fight in half by running to the edge of the map when he jumps into the air to do his comet move, if you are close enough to the edge he'll crash down in the sea and die.
I died to this boss like 10 or 12 times trying to use rotten breath... saw this video & using a crossbow... I beat him the 1st try! It was actually easy.
This boss makes me want to fight a Soul of Cinder who has Yhorm's health, Pontiff's combo, Abyss Watcher's speed, Aldrich's arrow attack, Nameless King's badassery and Sister Friede's phases
You clearly got the better run. When I fight this guy with the EXACT method, he pulls out every combo he has. Kills all my summons in one combo and rushes me with the gravity rocks and locks on. Your RNG for this fight with his moveset was entirely different than what I’ve experienced fighting him for the last 6 days.
Took me 4 tries. I did it on foot. Just stayed under and behind him. It’s easy to roll under and dodge all his attacks when your right under him. I feel like this game rewards you for staying close to big enemies. If I was far it was instant one shot death tho when he swung.
Yeah. So many bosses have been significantly easier to fight if you’re essentially right up on them. People make this game so much harder than it needs to be. I watched some video of a guy explaining how to beat one of those Magma Wyrms. He made it so difficult. He was saying to keep your distance and do this and that, and then when the wyrm does this run while spewing lava, you’re supposed to stay far away and then try to get in when you can and take some pot shots. It was so dumb. I ran right in and started beating on the wyrm, and then when it tried its lava spewing attacks, instead of backing off, I just kept moving to the side, while pressed against it and rolled under and kept attacking. Beat it on almost a minute straight.
0:29 i was stuck on this guy for months. ended up putting the game away. came back to it a couple of days ago and still couldn’t beat him. came across this video and realized i could summon the fighters lol. this whole time i was fighting him 1v1. cleared him on my first try.
Tyrannicon single-handedly dragged my trash corpse through Sekiro and now he's done it again with the most frustrating boss encounter since Darkeater Midir. Bless you, Tyrannicon. Bless you.
Wait until you find Malenia... Probably the hardest Soulsborne boss of all time, save Orphan. Luckily, there is a cheese for her, and if even I could discover it, the Guru has got to have had his hands all over it already...

This is a lot easier with rotbone arrows - you can craft them after buying the nomadic cookbook 15 from the south caelid highway merchant. You can pretty much sit out the fight while he rots.
1.summon everyone. 2. Keep moving towards the boss 3. Get in his nutsack 4. Proc bleed 5. When phase 2 starts get on your horse and use that too summon everyone 6. Apply more bleed to the nutsack.
Alexander made it to the end! From his dialogue after the battle, I thought he was scripted to only be summoned once and die with one hit. I wonder if his dialogue changes. Also, Ive seen people fight him without summons, but it doesnt feel much like a festival without them. They are missing out on this "Avengers, assemble!" moment.
I found using dragon Rotten Breath Incantation while the NPCs are attacking is super quick. Use it on horseback once, then go and hide. It takes him down very fast. Once phase 2 starts, raise the NPC‘s and do it again. Hide and wait until he dies. Only two spells for the entire fight.
Fantastic guide, would also like to add: for the 1st part of the battle (before he comes crashing down as a meteor) you’re able to get close enough to use Kukri knives on him, they build up some serious blood loss and make it faster to kill him. I used 15 in my fight, they can be bought on weeping peninsula at the Castle Morne Rampart where the Nomadic merchant is
I love how crazy the battles in this game can be! I never thought of arrows but will try. Almost got him with dual swords hitting his rump a bunch. This looks way safer!
@@geert574 or have different types of arrows like rot arrows giving him rot....then you could go to magic arrows...switching back to rot when needing to apply it....back to magic until they run out switch to normal arrows....with those 3 types alone you can easily carry 297 total arrows...add arrows with feathers on them and that's another 99 arrows....so idk how you'd run out unless your bow is not upgraded at all not even once
Appreciate the guide! This is one of my least favorite boss fights in the entire Souls series by far so it's nice to see that you can just whittle him down with arrows like the chump he is.

@@co2_os well considering this boss takes little skill and completely relies on chance because it's designed for the NPCs to fight it for you yes it definitely is lol.
Here was my strategy for defeating him easily. It worked on my first attempt using this strategy. What you want is the Pulley Crossbow and a full equipped load of 99 bloodbone bolts. I also had a short bow and 99 bloodbone arrows as back up, and the arrows reach and sting talismans equipped as well. I summoned the first three npcs and stayed back so he didnt fire the raining arrows and once the npcs grabbed his aggro I summoned the rest and proceeded to sit just outside of his melee range and fired bursts of bolts from the pulley crossbow. Just time your bursts so that your full volley of bolts hits him. Make sure you keep resummoning and stacking bleed with your bolts and you will shred him.
Poison and a +15 katana did the job as well, bleed efect +DOT easy. Died 20 or 30 times before i used this strat tho, i was to scared to go in mele range
When i first fought this boss i started laughing so hard at how absolutely ridiculous he looks riding on a tiny horse... i was too busy laughing i got killed instantly... I know the lore is he uses some gravity spell to ride the horse but omg he looks absolutely hilarious... good job to whoever came up with this boss
PSA: He doesn’t always die like this. I tried for ages. He does manage to get himself stuck in the rocks so he doesn’t do any movements. Stay high - get a good bow or great bow. Great bow arrows will take him down in about 30+ depending on damage. Normal bows took 80ish arrows constantly shooting him. You can constantly dodge his magic by getting on your horse and moving. You kill him by manually aiming. Hope this helps!
Took me 30 minutes to gather everything in the video, went back to fight Radahn after struggling and beat him on the first try with the bow strategy! Thanks!
Radahn's second phase is waaaay overtuned and rng-dependent. I'm pretty sure he'll get nerfed in the first update. It's a shame that he's such a tedious crapshoot, because his lore, look, and theme are all great.
I thought this way at first too, but then realized I was approaching the boss fight totally wrong. There is absolutely no penalty to just riding away while he wails on a summon. When you think the meteors are going to pop soon just run halfway across the battlefield and find some gold runes. Most of the time they won't even get close to you much less hit you if you're halfway across the map. And there's more than enough time to nail him with arrows inbetween meteors
Exactly. It's just based on luck. I felt like a lot of bosses were just crap and lazily done in the same manner just to waste your time and not give an "easy" win. Margit and some others were great though, I'd rank them the best in any game from this developer.
Because of a guide I started this boss and the moment I hit him the reality hit me back a +2 sword is not good enough if you play a mage I recommend the magic shield enhancement
From wiping at this boss for a couple of hours I learned that his homing meteors in phase 2 only get launched after he sprints away from his target, this is a good indicator to get off your mount and be ready to dodge twice in a row (since the meteors get launched two and two).
I also dodged the smaller "gravity balls" by staying on the horse, trying to keep my distance from Radahn and then sprint diagonally sideways and slightly toward Radahn. I never got hit by the smaller balls when doing that correctly.
Holy shit Tyrannicon... I knew I recognized that voice. I clicked on this video at random but DUDE, having Throthgar the barbarian tell me how to defeat Radahn; my day is immeasurably improved.
110% successful strategy: Let the summons do the whole fight for you. I done this without getting hit or hitting the boss. If they die, re spawn them, all while keeping your distance from him.
More realistic odds are about 2%. I took him out on 2 characters. Other times, I've tried him 50+ times and NOTHING. You get hit once and (effectively) "YOU DIED". There's not enough time to move or heal. The AI knows to take the player out and ignore the NPCs. These are with lvl 100+ w/ 40+ Vigor.
We had the same idea! When I went into battle the first few times I was getting stomped, then I realized the Devs designed this to be a horseback fight. The talismans are BIS for this fight when on ranged horseback.
Instead of dismounting to roll, you can time your slow dismount (when you dismount without moving) to avoid attacks in the same way you'd use a roll. You can use this to avoid his purple arrows at the start if you need to and you can use it to dodge all of his homing gravity orbs. I genuinely love the horseback fighting in Elden Ring and take the opportunity to fight on horseback every chance I get. I'd also recommend the pulley crossbow with bleeding + poison or scarlet rot bolts- the burst of 3 bolts allows you to stack status on him very quickly, and the Night Maiden's Mist spell- although that's tricky to use since his movement can be erratic and you have to get much closer to pull it off. But it can result in a lot of bonus damage while you're filling him full of arrows! Good luck, tarnished
Thank you bro! This dismounting tip literally turned my sorrows into victory. The meteors were the only thing keeping me from beating him and it always came when he was at like 75%.
Instead of dismounting, you can actually double jump just before he fires, so when he fires he's aiming at torrent in the air. I run at radahn full speed, then when he's about to fire, turn nearly 90 degrees and double jump, you're able to completely dodge the arrow without leaving torrent's back
I've tried literally everything I hit him once, with all summons attacking him I hit him ONCE full agro on me until I'm dead The last 20 times He immediately kills my mount, from full health to into the ground,
I tried countless times on horseback, its a bad idea. Get knocked down once and you're fucked I beat him yesterday with the claw fist weapon that has bleed. I used the horse to run far away and quickly get in when I had a chance to get a chain of attacks in
I am an Collosal sword main and I have fought every boss using them. This man was a rough fight. I ended up riding around and used two castings of rot breath to get him down to phase two then played the medic to revive my minions before Redahn could eviscerate me. I had one chance with my last Rune Arc to power up the Godrick rune so I had the faith and arcane to cast the spell. And boy it was a thrill right of a fight. I felt like a commander rallying the troops to put down a fell beast.
@@epicboyfive if it comes to collosal weapons imo you should have something for a finishing blow at the ready. Personally i like kukris or poison knives to get that last bit of damage in.
1503 HP and just two of those meteors took me out in one hit. This boss is fast, deals high damage, has hard hitting magic and massive AOE's. There's a reason you're not supposed to combine all those into one boss and its because that's stupid and annoying.
@@samlogan-warshaw300 I fucking hate horse combat in this game, at least as a magic user. No spells seem to have good range and it feels like half the time I cast them in front of me even though iLMS locked on to the guy behind me and spells are supposed to shoot backwards where you aim :/

You're not meant to like every single fucking boss fight. Its supposed to be difficult. Thats why we play these games
I was very intimated going up against this guy, however I beat him after 3 tries once I figured it out, was kind of surprised actually. I used a +12 Uchigatana and the bleed did a ton.
@@fearlessreview I've found a whole lot specifically in Mines which are a great places to get them, they look like little black and red caves on the map. I've found a lot just exploring as much as I can too, I have roughly 48 hours of game time and I've explored a bunch.
I’ll be completely honest I summoned two co-op random people, shot some rotten breath on Radahn and ran away like a little girl until the others had killed him. Not even sorry and still taking it as a win
Waited a bit too long before going to fight him, came in with 65 int, Carian Regal Sceptre +9, and the Rock Sling spell. Let’s just say it wasn’t a very fair fight for our boy Radahn…
I tested the lance talisman with and without horse with different bows and crossbows. No difference in damage. I just checked the Elden Ring wiki about it and it states that sorceries as well as bows are not increased. Only melee damage is increased by about 15%
You helped me through Sekiro and now you've done it again! Thanks man. Subscribed. Edit: I used poison arrows until he was poisoned (green mist around him) and then switched to bleed arrows. It seemed to work best for me. (It still took me 20 tries)
@@ohbjuankenobi go to the war masters shack at night and rest to make a boss invade that will give you the bell bearing to buy thin bones and then just make whatever arrows you can.

That loop where he keeps trying to hit you but can't? I doubt you 'created' that, as I used it too. I think somebody's even posted a video of it if my information is correct. It's rather well-known.
@@colorfury6936 If you manipulate the camera correctly, he won't slash at all. He'll raise his swords and put them down again, trying to change direction. What you've got to do is keep him in front of you at all times and deny him the turn.
The Scarlet Rot dragon head thing can also work, only needs to be applied once in each phase (however it can be a bit tricky to properly apply the DoT) But man, thematically and in concept this guy is REALLY cool though the fight itself...is something lmao

I think I was over leveled when I first fought this boss, I was level 81 and just used Uchigatana and Nagakiba and stayed under him. Killed him pretty easily with no summons on my first try

I have an easier yet method for taking this dude out. If you’ve unlocked the dragon communion cathedral in caleid, you can purchase the scarlet rot dragon attack. Two casts will take him to half health and then it will fall off after his meteor transition. Reapply two more casts after wards and he’ll drop dead. Just use the summons to keep him distracted for application It’s so easy it’s kind of…radahn-culous
If you are having trouble doing ranged on this boss as I was, I ended up beating him dual wielding katanas. One for frost/bleed and the other for just bleed. Stick to his feet and go ham with the R1's. Heal when you can, when he goes phase 2, re summon everyone, dodge sephiroth meteor, and go in for the kill. I had +17 uchi and +6 meteoric ore blade
You literally find enough stuff easily by this point to be at least +15...what are you talking about? Gear has nothing to do with it anyway. It's a stupid gimmick boss on level with Izalith
Finally got my knight twin blades, upgraded them and made my way to his castle. Got there and ALL of the soldiers hadn’t spawned for some reason lol. Walked right across the bridge and through the castle. Ready to use my new favorite weapon and just got annihilated. Need to respawn the jar and get patches still tho
Really mixed on this boss. For tips I had been using bleed daggers my entire play through (lucky me) so that helped a lot. With bleed you can skip almost the first half of the fight. Pace around until you see him yell at you. That’s when he does his long combo of continuous forward strikes with the last one being a sweep. Dodge inside of his body on the first swing, and start swinging. The rest of the attacks won’t hit you (the last strike may, if you want to play safer dodge the final swing) you’ll get one bleed proc. Then when he empowers his sword continue attacking. He always does the yell with the gravity pull after buffing swords. When you know it’s coming make sure to get in front of him. Baiting his slam attack which can be dodged by simply being right behind the horse. By that time you should get the second bleed proc. Getting to the second (third phase) of the fight. For the rest of the fight I don’t got shit. The amount of times I chocked on this boss with a quarter hp is laughable. Definitely the first wall that I encountered so far in this game. So good luck to all of y’all.
In first phase - don't waste time running. Summong quickly everything and try to dps him quickly. Before second phase starts - use the wondrous physik potion with bubble and strength (bubble will protect you from one shot and it lasts for 3 minutes). In second phase you don't even have to fight him you can keep circling around and summoning allies.
One thing i have noticed so far is how incredibly unfair this game is for melee builds, especially strength. Both caster builds have much easier time. Like how in the actual fuck are you supposed to get near him with ur tiny sword when he's spinning like a mfkn top all over the place with blades of 20 ft along with 20 missiles and shock waves blasting ur ass?????? Tf were the devs thinking?
My strat for him was quite similar, I got the kill lvl60 with a mage build. The main difference was I used Magic Glintblade and tried to hold aggro while the NPCs had melee DPS. I would kite him and prep Glintblades before he rushes me. The Glintblades have a delay, so I can move out into safety while baiting Radahn into the range of the floating Glintblades.
So far the easiest way I've done is use bloody blade with a quick attacking weapon. The bleed damage absolutely annihilated him. It took about 15-20 seconds to get him from full hp down to a sliver of health. It worked so well I almost killed him before he could get into his 2nd phase, and none of the tanky summons died. P.s. this works for many tanky bosses.
@yvouwell you just press ash attack whatever it is on your controller and then keep pressing it until your fp or stamina runs out. If you wait for a chance to use it behind him it'll tear him apart.
Fantastic guide, the first one I’ve seen for this boss. I beat him completely because of this video and the methods within, although I am playing as a caster rather than a a bow person, and changed my talismans accordingly :) thank you so much, that’s a subscriber
ATTENTION ASTROLOGER/MAGE BUILDS!!! Here are my steps: PHASE 1 1. Run to the summons and hide behind the wooden scrap 2. Git gud at dodging his 1st purple trajectory spells 3. Run to the next summons on the right 4. DON’T get on the mount. Keep dodging spells until he whips out his swords 5. Use Meteor Staff + Rock Sling on your mount at distance 6. Once he stars killing off all your summons, use every summon sign you see PHASE 2 1. Once he cannon balls from the sky, be sure to run along in a straight line across the map. Like, not where you came from originally but diagonally from that 2. Summon any more signs you can find 3. Rinse repeat Rock Sling from a distance (or any spell you prefer) 4. If he uses his purple orb projector spell, dismount from the mount and immediately hop back on. Alternatively you can run in a straight line diagonally from him or even use a hill to your advantage. Spell will hit mounds. Got lucky a couple times like that. 5. Keep at it and summon more if possible 6. Rinse repeat until he is done 1, 2, 3… Cheeeeese
I just did a much easier strategy! 1. run up and cast Terra Magicus 2. Drink physique flask 3. cast Comet Azur It completely skipped his second phase and one shotted him.

I told her, that she probably can't kill Orphan until she tries at least 10-15 times, and she says "Oh, okay". then enter the boss chamber and just disintegrate him. After fight she was scream, and laugh, and I'm scream and laugh with her. And I'm still like O_O, beacause that was... That was something!
And now, in 2024, when Shadow of the Erdtree is upcoming, we are returning in Elden Ring, but this time it's she who hold the controller. Well, I hope she will let me farming some runes and feathers for her, lol

What I love about this game is how different an experience it is for everyone. I found Radahn really easy and got him in my second try. BUT it took me 40+ attempts to kill the Draconic tree sentinel just to get into Lyendell xD
No shame in that. Draconic is pretty hard especially his second phase lightning attacks are absolute pain in the ass and even one shots you if your health is anything less than 1000. You can take help of a npc summon there, and also cast some good spirit ash for added help

To everyone who died to Radahn 30 times like me, there is a 100% success rate way to beat him.
It involves the Rotten Breath incantation which can be purchased at the Dragon Communion Altar at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion for 1 Dragon Heart.
The strategy is the following. You have to hit Radahn with this ability twice in order for him to start losing health over time. Once he starts losing health, he will never stop losing it until he resets for the second phase. After that, you need to again hit him again with the ability twice for him to start losing health.
After you hit him twice and he starts losing hp, you should, and I mean literally, run as far away from him as possible. The ticking damage will be plenty to kill him. Keep summoning allies in the mean time in order to keep him occupied.
PS: there is a dungeon you can access from his area after you defeat him.

I just did this and beat him first try. Easy mode. The first phase wasn’t the problem because I have bleed and can chop him down quick, but those meteors on the 2nd were a nightmare. Also, I had no idea how many summons there were on the island.

You clearly got the better run. When I fight this guy with the EXACT method, he pulls out every combo he has. Kills all my summons in one combo and rushes me with the gravity rocks and locks on. Your RNG for this fight with his moveset was entirely different than what I’ve experienced fighting him for the last 6 days.

With Radahn, you can use the s of getting on your horse when he slams like a comet to avoid taking damage entirely.
This is a hard fight, but fun. I laughed when I realized that Patches doesn't die if you summon him, he sees Radhan and nopes on out of there lol.

Took me 4 tries. I did it on foot. Just stayed under and behind him. It’s easy to roll under and dodge all his attacks when your right under him. I feel like this game rewards you for staying close to big enemies. If I was far it was instant one shot death tho when he swung.

Yeah. So many bosses have been significantly easier to fight if you’re essentially right up on them. People make this game so much harder than it needs to be.
I watched some video of a guy explaining how to beat one of those Magma Wyrms. He made it so difficult. He was saying to keep your distance and do this and that, and then when the wyrm does this run while spewing lava, you’re supposed to stay far away and then try to get in when you can and take some pot shots. It was so dumb.
I ran right in and started beating on the wyrm, and then when it tried its lava spewing attacks, instead of backing off, I just kept moving to the side, while pressed against it and rolled under and kept attacking. Beat it on almost a minute straight.

This is a lot easier with rotbone arrows - you can craft them after buying the nomadic cookbook 15 from the south caelid highway merchant. You can pretty much sit out the fight while he rots.

Alexander made it to the end! From his dialogue after the battle, I thought he was scripted to only be summoned once and die with one hit. I wonder if his dialogue changes. Also, Ive seen people fight him without summons, but it doesnt feel much like a festival without them. They are missing out on this "Avengers, assemble!" moment.
This is quickly becoming my favorite channel for game advice.
I found using dragon Rotten Breath Incantation while the NPCs are attacking is super quick. Use it on horseback once, then go and hide. It takes him down very fast. Once phase 2 starts, raise the NPC‘s and do it again. Hide and wait until he dies. Only two spells for the entire fight.
Really good. Nearly got it till he jumps and disappears for 10 seconds
Fantastic guide, would also like to add: for the 1st part of the battle (before he comes crashing down as a meteor) you’re able to get close enough to use Kukri knives on him, they build up some serious blood loss and make it faster to kill him. I used 15 in my fight, they can be bought on weeping peninsula at the Castle Morne Rampart where the Nomadic merchant is

@@geert574 or have different types of arrows like rot arrows giving him rot....then you could go to magic arrows...switching back to rot when needing to apply it....back to magic until they run out switch to normal arrows....with those 3 types alone you can easily carry 297 total arrows...add arrows with feathers on them and that's another 99 arrows....so idk how you'd run out unless your bow is not upgraded at all not even once

@@co2_os well considering this boss takes little skill and completely relies on chance because it's designed for the NPCs to fight it for you yes it definitely is lol.
Here was my strategy for defeating him easily. It worked on my first attempt using this strategy.
What you want is the Pulley Crossbow and a full equipped load of 99 bloodbone bolts. I also had a short bow and 99 bloodbone arrows as back up, and the arrows reach and sting talismans equipped as well.
I summoned the first three npcs and stayed back so he didnt fire the raining arrows and once the npcs grabbed his aggro I summoned the rest and proceeded to sit just outside of his melee range and fired bursts of bolts from the pulley crossbow. Just time your bursts so that your full volley of bolts hits him. Make sure you keep resummoning and stacking bleed with your bolts and you will shred him.
Where can you buy them? Did you run out of bolts?
I used same method, the crossbow rips when you spam and hit all arrows
Poison and a +15 katana did the job as well, bleed efect +DOT easy. Died 20 or 30 times before i used this strat tho, i was to scared to go in mele range

When i first fought this boss i started laughing so hard at how absolutely ridiculous he looks riding on a tiny horse... i was too busy laughing i got killed instantly... I know the lore is he uses some gravity spell to ride the horse but omg he looks absolutely hilarious... good job to whoever came up with this boss
PSA: He doesn’t always die like this. I tried for ages. He does manage to get himself stuck in the rocks so he doesn’t do any movements. Stay high - get a good bow or great bow. Great bow arrows will take him down in about 30+ depending on damage. Normal bows took 80ish arrows constantly shooting him. You can constantly dodge his magic by getting on your horse and moving. You kill him by manually aiming. Hope this helps!
I took a break from this boss fight to cool off once I started raging by playing a new play through of Sekiro because it’s easier and more relaxing.
Took me 30 minutes to gather everything in the video, went back to fight Radahn after struggling and beat him on the first try with the bow strategy! Thanks!
Radahn's second phase is waaaay overtuned and rng-dependent. I'm pretty sure he'll get nerfed in the first update. It's a shame that he's such a tedious crapshoot, because his lore, look, and theme are all great.
I thought this way at first too, but then realized I was approaching the boss fight totally wrong. There is absolutely no penalty to just riding away while he wails on a summon. When you think the meteors are going to pop soon just run halfway across the battlefield and find some gold runes. Most of the time they won't even get close to you much less hit you if you're halfway across the map. And there's more than enough time to nail him with arrows inbetween meteors
According to all the souls' lore. You're supposed to die and retry over and over again... so your troubles are lore accurate
Exactly. It's just based on luck. I felt like a lot of bosses were just crap and lazily done in the same manner just to waste your time and not give an "easy" win. Margit and some others were great though, I'd rank them the best in any game from this developer.

Because of a guide I started this boss and the moment I hit him the reality hit me back a +2 sword is not good enough if you play a mage I recommend the magic shield enhancement
From wiping at this boss for a couple of hours I learned that his homing meteors in phase 2 only get launched after he sprints away from his target, this is a good indicator to get off your mount and be ready to dodge twice in a row (since the meteors get launched two and two).
I also dodged the smaller "gravity balls" by staying on the horse, trying to keep my distance from Radahn and then sprint diagonally sideways and slightly toward Radahn. I never got hit by the smaller balls when doing that correctly.
I also noticed this, I don’t know why a lot of people are complaining about “meteors being rng”

Holy shit Tyrannicon... I knew I recognized that voice. I clicked on this video at random but DUDE, having Throthgar the barbarian tell me how to defeat Radahn; my day is immeasurably improved.
110% successful strategy: Let the summons do the whole fight for you. I done this without getting hit or hitting the boss. If they die, re spawn them, all while keeping your distance from him.
I know this is a while after you commented this, but this strategy is proving more positive for me so thank you so much!
More realistic odds are about 2%. I took him out on 2 characters. Other times, I've tried him 50+ times and NOTHING. You get hit once and (effectively) "YOU DIED". There's not enough time to move or heal. The AI knows to take the player out and ignore the NPCs.
These are with lvl 100+ w/ 40+ Vigor.

Level 57, 50ish hours in, this was the first boss fight I felt genuine excitement for. Rallying the other fighters was a brilliant change of pace.
The npc summons + horseback + giant battlefield arena makes this fight feel epic

I cheeses this so bad, I only kept respawning the summons and ran in opposite direction, only to get last 3-4 hits when they won't summon anymore

We had the same idea! When I went into battle the first few times I was getting stomped, then I realized the Devs designed this to be a horseback fight. The talismans are BIS for this fight when on ranged horseback.
ikr? I just used the horse all the time and attack him on the back. I was using samurai and uchigatana
Instead of dismounting to roll, you can time your slow dismount (when you dismount without moving) to avoid attacks in the same way you'd use a roll. You can use this to avoid his purple arrows at the start if you need to and you can use it to dodge all of his homing gravity orbs. I genuinely love the horseback fighting in Elden Ring and take the opportunity to fight on horseback every chance I get. I'd also recommend the pulley crossbow with bleeding + poison or scarlet rot bolts- the burst of 3 bolts allows you to stack status on him very quickly, and the Night Maiden's Mist spell- although that's tricky to use since his movement can be erratic and you have to get much closer to pull it off. But it can result in a lot of bonus damage while you're filling him full of arrows! Good luck, tarnished
Thank you bro! This dismounting tip literally turned my sorrows into victory. The meteors were the only thing keeping me from beating him and it always came when he was at like 75%.
Instead of dismounting, you can actually double jump just before he fires, so when he fires he's aiming at torrent in the air. I run at radahn full speed, then when he's about to fire, turn nearly 90 degrees and double jump, you're able to completely dodge the arrow without leaving torrent's back
not the easiest method, but it explains the boss fight, and mechanics well. while also being fun to listen to! loved the vid

I beat him yesterday with the claw fist weapon that has bleed. I used the horse to run far away and quickly get in when I had a chance to get a chain of attacks in
I am an Collosal sword main and I have fought every boss using them. This man was a rough fight. I ended up riding around and used two castings of rot breath to get him down to phase two then played the medic to revive my minions before Redahn could eviscerate me. I had one chance with my last Rune Arc to power up the Godrick rune so I had the faith and arcane to cast the spell. And boy it was a thrill right of a fight. I felt like a commander rallying the troops to put down a fell beast.
Using collosal weapon Vs this guy is too much for me. Every time he gets to a sliver of health and kills me.
@@epicboyfive if it comes to collosal weapons imo you should have something for a finishing blow at the ready. Personally i like kukris or poison knives to get that last bit of damage in.

1503 HP and just two of those meteors took me out in one hit. This boss is fast, deals high damage, has hard hitting magic and massive AOE's. There's a reason you're not supposed to combine all those into one boss and its because that's stupid and annoying.
If you fight him on horseback he's not even that bad I died like 5 times but never from his magic it's so easy to dodge.

I was very intimated going up against this guy, however I beat him after 3 tries once I figured it out, was kind of surprised actually. I used a +12 Uchigatana and the bleed did a ton.

I tested the lance talisman with and without horse with different bows and crossbows. No difference in damage.
I just checked the Elden Ring wiki about it and it states that sorceries as well as bows are not increased. Only melee damage is increased by about 15%

Edit: I used poison arrows until he was poisoned (green mist around him) and then switched to bleed arrows. It seemed to work best for me. (It still took me 20 tries)

@@colorfury6936 If you manipulate the camera correctly, he won't slash at all. He'll raise his swords and put them down again, trying to change direction. What you've got to do is keep him in front of you at all times and deny him the turn.

The Scarlet Rot dragon head thing can also work, only needs to be applied once in each phase (however it can be a bit tricky to properly apply the DoT)

I have an easier yet method for taking this dude out. If you’ve unlocked the dragon communion cathedral in caleid, you can purchase the scarlet rot dragon attack. Two casts will take him to half health and then it will fall off after his meteor transition. Reapply two more casts after wards and he’ll drop dead. Just use the summons to keep him distracted for application

He's legit extra weak to Scarlet Rot so it's really effective against him.
If you are having trouble doing ranged on this boss as I was, I ended up beating him dual wielding katanas. One for frost/bleed and the other for just bleed. Stick to his feet and go ham with the R1's. Heal when you can, when he goes phase 2, re summon everyone, dodge sephiroth meteor, and go in for the kill. I had +17 uchi and +6 meteoric ore blade

Finally got my knight twin blades, upgraded them and made my way to his castle. Got there and ALL of the soldiers hadn’t spawned for some reason lol. Walked right across the bridge and through the castle.
Ready to use my new favorite weapon and just got annihilated. Need to respawn the jar and get patches still tho

Really mixed on this boss. For tips I had been using bleed daggers my entire play through (lucky me) so that helped a lot. With bleed you can skip almost the first half of the fight. Pace around until you see him yell at you. That’s when he does his long combo of continuous forward strikes with the last one being a sweep. Dodge inside of his body on the first swing, and start swinging. The rest of the attacks won’t hit you (the last strike may, if you want to play safer dodge the final swing) you’ll get one bleed proc. Then when he empowers his sword continue attacking. He always does the yell with the gravity pull after buffing swords. When you know it’s coming make sure to get in front of him. Baiting his slam attack which can be dodged by simply being right behind the horse. By that time you should get the second bleed proc. Getting to the second (third phase) of the fight. For the rest of the fight I don’t got shit. The amount of times I chocked on this boss with a quarter hp is laughable. Definitely the first wall that I encountered so far in this game. So good luck to all of y’all.
In first phase - don't waste time running. Summong quickly everything and try to dps him quickly. Before second phase starts - use the wondrous physik potion with bubble and strength (bubble will protect you from one shot and it lasts for 3 minutes). In second phase you don't even have to fight him you can keep circling around and summoning allies.
One thing i have noticed so far is how incredibly unfair this game is for melee builds, especially strength. Both caster builds have much easier time.
Like how in the actual fuck are you supposed to get near him with ur tiny sword when he's spinning like a mfkn top all over the place with blades of 20 ft along with 20 missiles and shock waves blasting ur ass??????

My strat for him was quite similar, I got the kill lvl60 with a mage build. The main difference was I used Magic Glintblade and tried to hold aggro while the NPCs had melee DPS. I would kite him and prep Glintblades before he rushes me. The Glintblades have a delay, so I can move out into safety while baiting Radahn into the range of the floating Glintblades.
So far the easiest way I've done is use bloody blade with a quick attacking weapon. The bleed damage absolutely annihilated him. It took about 15-20 seconds to get him from full hp down to a sliver of health.
It worked so well I almost killed him before he could get into his 2nd phase, and none of the tanky summons died.
P.s. this works for many tanky bosses.

@@GB2G He has a phase transition period where he buffs up his blades with purple electricity. You need to stay behind him when this happens.
@yvouwell you just press ash attack whatever it is on your controller and then keep pressing it until your fp or stamina runs out. If you wait for a chance to use it behind him it'll tear him apart.

ATTENTION ASTROLOGER/MAGE BUILDS!!!
Here are my steps:
PHASE 1
1. Run to the summons and hide behind the wooden scrap
2. Git gud at dodging his 1st purple trajectory spells
3. Run to the next summons on the right
4. DON’T get on the mount. Keep dodging spells until he whips out his swords
5. Use Meteor Staff + Rock Sling on your mount at distance
6. Once he stars killing off all your summons, use every summon sign you see
PHASE 2
1. Once he cannon balls from the sky, be sure to run along in a straight line across the map. Like, not where you came from originally but diagonally from that
2. Summon any more signs you can find
3. Rinse repeat Rock Sling from a distance (or any spell you prefer)
4. If he uses his purple orb projector spell, dismount from the mount and immediately hop back on. Alternatively you can run in a straight line diagonally from him or even use a hill to your advantage. Spell will hit mounds. Got lucky a couple times like that.
5. Keep at it and summon more if possible
6. Rinse repeat until he is done
1, 2, 3… Cheeeeese
I just did a much easier strategy!
1. run up and cast Terra Magicus
2. Drink physique flask
3. cast Comet Azur
It completely skipped his second phase and one shotted him.
I did the exact same thing
I beat him legit yesterday, just straight up had to git gud, this method would have saved me some heartache
NGL dodging all of his combos up close has a special kind of feeling of accomplishment
I beat him by letting the cooperators rush in and then flinging rocks at him, we killed each other at the same time but it still counted 💀👍
