In this video I will explain the details on how to decarbonize your outboard boat engine. Carbon build up can damage your engine and should be removed periodically for a longer lifetime on the outboard. This can be done an many outboards, however this particular video was for the Yamaha series.

Going to be doing this on a 23 year old Yamaha f50 I got from an uncle with zero knowledge of it's history and what sort of maintenance it's had (uncle past away so I can't ask him!) ...anyway I am hoping it'll improve the compression readings because right now it's pretty low across all cylinders...within acceptable, but still pretty low

Will this work on a Chevy 2.4 GDI I4 engine? I've got a lot of blow by and this engine has problems with rings seizing.

Yamaha stuff is pretty much the best. I use it on EVERYTHING: Chainsaws, lawnmowers, motorcycles, cars, blowers, etc. (fuel stabilizer) You can use the Ring Free on anything. It's like SeaFoam, but Yamaha's stuff is better.

This product is even suggested to use by Mercury and othe outboard manufacturers. Use it from day one and you will not regret it. And no, I am not paid or have anything to do with Yamaha Pro Staff. I wish! LOL

Hey how's it going captain quick question can we use that same set up on two stroke Yamaha ox66??? Somebody told me you can and it keeps your O2 sensor from getting jacked up and when you do do this do you run the whole 6 gallons??? Till empty??

I'm confused. At 1:22 in your video you state..add 2 oz per gallon. At 2:32 you say add 2 oz per 6 gallons. Help me here...which is correct??? I plan to run this exact procedure on my Yamaha F115 Very soon.

No, to carbon blast it, it is 2oz per gallon. I meant to say 12oz for 6 gallons at 2:32. So if you buy the 12oz size of the Yamaha Ring Free add that whole thing to six gallons of gas. Sorry about that and good catch.

You can do that. Most people it is hard to see the 10 gallon mark exactly.

So...what the results of your video demonstrates..at least to ME....is that your 1oz. per 10 gallon treatment isn't very effective at all. If it were, I would expect you to have very LITTLE dark oil to exhibit after your "shock" treatment.. Just my opinion.

+Jim Dixon What it shows me is that you did not understand the video. This is a video on how to "blast" your engine free of carbon deposits and you do this BEFORE and old change. You and 2 oz per gallon. That is why the oil is black. The 1 oz per gallon is a general treatment for every day use, not a blasting effect.

+Jim Dixon So Jim the oil supposed to be dark, that shows that the shock treatment worked. Big difference between using the ring free as a daily additive and then using it before an oil change as a "shock" treatment. Watch the video again.
