    We have several Skallywag blades and can attest to the incredible quality and cutting power!
    My Guardian Dagger rides in my plate carrier and it works amazingly well in that regard. The thin profile allows it flow nicely with the plate carrier and the large fiber ring makes locating and drawing the knife much easier and more secure than any previous knife I have used.
    For me, the blade is too large for EDC use, but that is okay since Skallywag has plenty of other options!
    My wife carries the Aluminum Dagger while I typically carry an FDE Karambit on my strong side. I have borrowed my wife's Aluminum Dagger a few times and the light weight abd slim makes it easy to carry while wearing anything, including gym shorts. I'm definitely going to get one of those, too!
    Hopefully we can attend a course with Skallywag in the future so we can really learn how to deploy these amazing cutting tools!

    A also Am impressed with the damage to the flesh with something hanging on a string and not getting that weight feedback you’d get from a person you’re defending against. They won’t fall back like that so the blade will do far more damage. I think that’s obvious but wanted to comment.

    Why the serrations on a defensive blade? The rule of thumb is they just snag on the dudes clothing and can cause the blade to get yanked around.

    • @Skallywagtactical
      @Skallywagtactical  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Its more of a offensive blade in reality.. It also depends on what type of serrations, some will catch in clothing some will cut through it like butter.. The purpose of the serrations on this blade is to aid in the cutting out process after the blade has been inserted, turned then the process of cutting out a different direction is done.. The serrations (again depending on type of serration) help in this process.. This blade was designed as a offensive blade ..

    • @Skallywagtactical
      @Skallywagtactical  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No reason for it to be, all it would do is thin out the tip and make it weak. The 40 degree angle is a following edge to the tip..

      @@Sherif132 Watch the TH-cam video about the D2 Dagger we address cutting with the tip but in reality you are asking the blade to do something it was not designed for.. This blade was designed to be inserted, turned and removed in a different direction. the tip is designed to penetrate though thick clothing, light body armor etc..

      @@jay-by1se No, its route, it means you are putting the blade right where you want it rooting around is what a pig does randomly, to route around you are purposely looking for certain things and going around other things.. Its always possible we spell things wrong, say things wrong and overall really screw up grammar this one we got right, its used a lot in training.. Here is what the spelling gods say about it.. ___ route around
      route (someone or something) around (something or some place)
      To cause or direct someone or something to travel along a particular path around something or some place, as to bypass or avoid it.
      There is a sensor in the new grid that can detect problems in the network and route power around them to avoid large-scale outages.
      Drivers are being routed around the most central part of the city while work is being done to repair the roads.

      Skallywag 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂In that moment I know you’ve never been in a real knife fight. I lost my first knife fight when I was 14 as a homeless kid. still carry the scars today. I can promise you one thing, you’re not routing around peoples arteries in a knife fight. If you get a chance to twist a blade that would be a freaking miracle. that shit happens so fast, and the adrenaline is so high that there is almost no thought. You just keep repeating whatever subconscious program your brain runs desperately, mind completely blank, totally immune to pain. The other person moving with a violence and desperation so intense that just something like touching somebody’s face Will leave horrifying purple lines of exploded capillaries down their face because the sheer amount of pressure that is applied in that situation. having the horrible experience of losing a knife fight I can assure you the only way you survive a fight is by trapping the other persons weapon as fast as you can. Everything else comes after. You won’t have to worry about some surgical precise stab, In the adrenalized moment of total and complete focus you will be able to stab 30 times before you even registered that you’re doing it. you won’t feel the knife sticking out of you, you won’t feel anything. The only cut I’ve ever seen truly be effective was to the upper face because the blood blinded him. The secret to winning is keep it simple and train thousands of times in the same capturing techniques Until they are true reflex. then test them at full speed with live knives. if you’re not training at full speed with at least relatively sharp knives against people who are free train stab you in anyway they want: you know you’re not ready. Still a really cool knife. The avantage of the loophole grip is that your hand doesn’t slide over the blade. One of the most common injuries treated in hospitals is severe lacerations to the hand holding the knife. i’m not interested in some Internet dick measuring contest, i’m just a guy who had a very hard life and got stabbed a few times. in the army at the chance to train with the Russians and the Israelis. I would abandon everything and go train with the Russians in "the system". all real knives, all Sharp once you get good. Best of luck and great knife design.

      @Skallywagtactical  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, Mike has extensive knife training.. so there is that. its actually not silly at all.. This blade was originally designed to deal with a direct problem in the early days of the war.. Barrel grabs on room entry's was chewing guys up.. Mike is only discussing a few aspects of the blade in this video.. Not the whole story.. Oh and what is a Chambered grip, not heard of that one..
