I've used your vid to do my own engine - I used a strong arm on the crankshaft end to turn the engine over tho (--: I'm now at 10,000 kms and running strong. Thanks.
@@treborif Have got a bit of a head scratcher here. Have noticed that when my pajero 2.8 gets up to operating temp, it develops what could be described as a rattle. Goes away as soon as revs are increased. No noise when engine is cold. I assumed it was the timing chain so replaced chain, tensioner and guides, seems to be no different, noise still returns when warm. This has really got me stumped. Hopefully someone has encountered this before? Did a bit more investigating and found that if I hold a bit of weight on the steering wheel at idle, the noise goes away completely. Replaced power steering pump also but no luck.
@@kanwarbirsingh3660 I had a rattle I couldnt find and it turned out to be the engine lifting hook - right at the back bolted to the left side of the block - had come loose and was rattling at idle and stopped when the engine had some revs - have a look at that.
Them mighty 4m40 engines look really strong and they have to be with a compression rate of 21/1! I'm running 26psi on my JDM edc 4m40 and I'm sure the head will lift? Does anyone know the max boost these engines can handle.
mark daly I'm running a Kinugawa TD04 with 15T compressor wheel with a snorkel and PiperX air filter with erg blanked off and inlet butterflies removed and a turbosmart dual stage boost controller.
on the Delica club forums ive read people run 18psi, but personally wouldn't go beyond 15psi and would run 12psi for peace of mind. However you exhaust gas temps might require monitoring and better flow rates. no guarantee
mark daly I have a EGT gauge and aftermarket engine temperature gauge and I have hit 720 degrees a couple of times when holding it flat up a large hill but so far no cracked head and mostly the EGT’s are under control and I’ve also wired up a switch to the intercooler fan so it can be manually turned on in slow traffic. My efi 4m40 has no release valve at rear of manifold and believe the computer will cut fuel at 44psi. I have just removed my 4m40 from my Challenger as it’s destroyed a second flex plate in two years and I’m over it so have just purchased a 2002 Pajero with a 4m41 engine and over the next few weeks will be transferring all the good stuff over to my new truck including the Kinugawa 15T TD04 and converting the old truck back to standard and selling it. The 4m40 is a mighty engine but the 4m41 is more mighty and with a compression ratio of 16-1 it should be able to handle lots of boost and I’m aiming for about 35psi with the right support.

On the standard turbo .the standard pressure release valve will open at 15psi iirc.
At 26 if nothing else is uprated its creating alot of heat
