    You might like the Wera Bicycle Kit 15. It’s a small kit with 3 tyre levers, a 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm hex, and a Torx T25. The tyre levers stack together to form a handle that apparently is good for 20Nm. It’s also got other features like a valve ejector and a spoke tensioner I believe. It’s 46g.

    • @otterspacejam
      @otterspacejam ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've had this tool for a year and loved it until the plastic hole where the bit attaches cammed out when trying to remove a 6mm through axle that I torque to 10Nm with anti seize. After caming out the bit would rotate in the hole which rendered the tool useless which cannot happen to a metal hex wrench. I no longer trust this tool for anything over say 5nm so I replaced it. Thankfully I was able to borrow a conventional 6mm hex which removed the axle easily.
      The wera also does not have the ability to easily add other bits like a t20 and t15.

    • @Psyopcyclops
      @Psyopcyclops ปีที่แล้ว

      @@otterspacejam That’s a shame. It’s advertised to handle up to 10nm, or 20Nm with both, so I’d see if they can replace it.

    Great kit and excellent production values - your vids are better looking all the time. That bag you have slung under the seat looks great so form fitting maybe it gives an aero gain. I saw research recently where a bike with a randonneur bag on the front of the handlebars was faster than without the bag. Aero gains can come from weird places (like putting a Camelback bag on your chest instead of back - a legal body “fairing” that some pros have actually started to employ!)

    It's starting to feel like we've put some miles behind us together, 'old friend.' I've been around since before the last ERC video, and long enough to believe that Peace is more than a just a parting word to you. I'm mostly tubeless now, and my tires are 32s. What world is this? I used the Daysaver in my roll from the drop. I've had to actually USE it, searching the gravel for the bits on the strange quiet roads of the Driftless region, aka 'the Coulees' -- near the native homeland of Trek. It was distressing enough for me that I carry my Topeak X-tool+ -- and nothing else -- if I know I'm likely to adjust something on a shorter ride 'around the local park'- bike paths around chain of lakes -- which nearly all of them are for me. Peace! I mean it!

    • @irfuel

      @@ridesofjapan some "stupid electric pumps" are lighter than 2 CO2 cartridges + adapter. And you don't need a pump either. Concerning running out of battery: they have USB-C, so if you have a phone with USB-C that can be used as power bank (iPhone 15 for example) you can always top it up worst case with a small USB-C to USB-C dongle

    This video made me reevaluate my toolbag of a few years... Apparently I kept on sliding CR2032 batteries in it, it had THREE of them. One tubolito punctured, another unusable due to valve extension issues (possibly punctured as well). 2 pairs power links, partially rusted 🤬🤬 So apart from making me get the daysaver kit (love it, but I need to put it in the actual saddlebag and not keep it as a fidget toy on my desk) I now need to order more TPU tubes and power locks 😂

    a truly next level minimalist setup. i need to check out your new multi tool. i have currently been using a Fix Manufacturing Wheelie Wrench Pro. It's also incredibly minimalist but offers a ton of versatility. Its biggest flaw is that the integrated tire level is not nylon and also shares the common flaw with your setup in those very rare occasions when you might need some pliers to pull a thorn or wire out of a tire. That's less problematic on tubeless though.

    My experience with the Leznye pumps is that the thread wears out quickly and I got 2 times when the valve top got stuck in the pump hose top... only way to get it off of the wheel was to break off the valve tip, both wasting the pump and the tube... Had this twice, so that was 80€ wasted, I've switched to TopPeak now, also small & light, only used once, so too early to rate. Also using a lezyne trackpump (the one for tubeless...) also for that onthe the thread is already wearing out quickly...

    I’m currently using the smallest SpeedSleev @ 42g. Perhaps I’m due a upgrade? 😊 I found a Syncros multitool, though 116g, it has everything I need and everyone else I run into. Upgrade time? I’m still a CO2 user, thought the whole set, inflator, canister and rubber sleeve is just 85g. I do have a mini pump for the longer rides, I’m gonna use that tube hack of yours, and will add an additional TPU tube. I’m at 290g total, without the mini pump/second TPU tube. But just to be safe, I throw in a tire lever w/a few wraps of duct tape, small cable ties, wipes, and $20 cash, for an additional penalty of 25g.

    Why not just the back pocket for the mini pump?

    I carry a Barbieri Nana pump (the iPump is lighter but borderline useless IMO), 2 RideNow TPU inner tubes (24g version), and a 6mm titanium allen key from a Chinese brand called "Wedu" in a Gobik saddle bag and it adds up to 134 grams. With the Morimono bag that would come down to 116 grams ...

    Been following ur vids for a while & love them! My own kit weighs in @ 141g..minus e pump, which I too am ocd - need to know e exact psi thus e Lezyne Digital Pressure Drive hand pump attached behind my bottle cage. (Or if u have an even lighter, smaller recommendations?)
    Anyway, was out on my ride recently & my chain managed to pop out of e jockey wheel. Which made me realise e 1 tool I didn't have - quick link pliers.
    Could have used e chain breaker (part of e coworking5) w spare links. But that would mean I needed to change a new chain when I got home.
    Fortunately a mate had a plier tool & that saved my ride. Opened & re-routed e chain thru & was able continue on my journey.
    So if u have any lightweight & mini (10 x 3cm) plier tool to recommend, please do share! 😁

    I bought all of this! And absolutely love it… everything except for the pump. Did you figure out a new one yet? 😎🙏

    Check out Bontrager Air Rush bike pump. Its smaller and has a Co2 inflator inside. It has a advertised weight of 72g

    Not keep on the pump on the bike, maybe above the seat tube bottle? Or and this is crazy, in rear jersey pocket?

    I have the exact same kit except for the standard dynaplug racer and an 8g tyvek pouch. I put it in my middle jersey pocket as I mount an exposure rear light on my saddle rails. Although if there's a RoJ discount code for the morimono bag......

    Hi :) Nice video! Since you live in Japan, I was wondering why you haven't yet switched to the Japanese-made ipump mirco with only 21 g or the ipump twist with 26 g :)

    I always carry two tubes after experiencing a double impact blow out once, and patches for redundancy.

    Hey RoJ, thanks for the video. Never heard of Daysaver until now. Looks awesome, but it doesn't have a tool to open a chain quick link. I presume you don't expect having to open one on the road?

    Try using a keg container. This way you can put a couple of paper towels, zip ties, etc. along with anything else, and you won't need to strap anything to back of your seat.

      For me personally, In the summer here double water bottles is a must. I still use a keg now when we hit the cooler months of the year, but I use them for extra layers of clothing.

      For me, a big advantage of a keg is that it is totally waterproof. That bag is beautiful and although the material is waterfproof, looking at the opening, I'd be surprised if it didn't let in water. Not a problem if you don't ride in the rain, but being UK based, that's a reality of life.

      @ridesofjapan I'm in Seattle, so it's rarely necessary to carry two bottles!
