A very good informatative vlog. Well done Brett and Mel, loved the honest information. We also stayed at Eneabba and loved it. If your now aware, a hint on the BEST filter that I found. I have had ours for over 4 years now and what I did was draw an arrow on the filter in the direction of flow and then I back flush on town water every 3 to 4 months for about 10 minutes. Also I have a twin filter system to use as well as the BEST for when we are outback Qld as the water can be a bit brackish.
Good vid, guys. There def ARE a few laws for caravanning - electric brakes and extended mirrors on the car, making sure you have the correct weights - overall and for each axle separately. Also be aware that diff states have diff speeds for towing e.g. WA general state limit is 110 but towing is restricted to 100... We love Caravan Overnight Farmstay, too.
Hi I've been watching your videos for a long time now and always enjoyed them . I was very interested in one a couple of weeks ago where Mel modelled her dresses . Ive been looking for dresses myself for a while . So was very excited to be in Cairns visiting family and found Boho Leni. I bought 2 dresses originally then went back 3 days later and got 3 more. Love them so much so thanks. They are definitely easy to keep in the van. Love how happy you both are all the time
Yeah, it's always dependent on the person and how they travel, $60K a year is good. Friends of ours right now are trading 2 hours work a day on a farm in exchange for accommodation. They are also receiving produce e.g. meat and eggs. As a family of 4 it's costing them $350 a week to live. So it would be
Very informative, as always. Well done Brett & Mel with the off the cuff answers. That was a clever intro Brett 🤣 Enjoy the week ahead, safe travels and see you next week, Lyn ❤️
Hey Mel and Brett, firstly, have to say we loved the start to the vlog, that was so original and entertaining but also gave us a real insight into full time travel manoeuvring in a caravan 👍 great concept using AI generated questions that were on the money and I must say well handled with some straight, unrehearsed, from the heart lived experience advice!! A lot of newbie’s will benefit from this vlog and your wisdom 👍 See you in the next vlog. Take care and stay safe Kind regards, Corrie
Worth the cash with all the experience and memories. In Melbourne i live in a unit and my neighbour is charging $340 a week in a 2 bedroom unit weekly. Most a paying 500 to 600 weekly mortgage. Totally worth it. Im hopeful i can do a year when im older. From then on i keep watching and learning all the places. Use could lay low eat cheapy and save.
You can certainly live in a van for cheap somewhere in Aus. My friends are currently spending $350 a week as a family of 4. With their accommodation and much of their food covered as they live and work on a farm. But that's living cheaply in a van, not travelling aus. Moving frequently costs money 💰 🤑
what is the location app that you use and update please? And what a great video for us to listen and educate ourselves before we take on such an adventure as you guys have
@bernicemaschgan4656 hiya, I'm not sure what you mean by location app. But maybe "wikki camps" we find points of interests and camps and from there you can click directions and it opens in Google maps. We used to have off-line maps with hema but we almost never needed it and found the unit was very average. We now just use Google maps and wikki camps for locations.
Just discovered you guys and am Loving your videos! I have a question… how do you cope with illness while travelling in such a confined space? (My hubby is a severe asthmatic and any respiratory illness ripping through the family makes him nervous)
Hi Rose. As you probably have guessed, you are in a confined space so if one person gets sick, its likely that everyone will get sick. We were just recently at an event and with all of the kids around of course one of ours got the cold, and then the whole family got the cold, its just going to happen. That being said, we hardly ever get sick, as we don't spend a lot of time in cities and shops and our kids aren't going to a physical school. We get sick maybe 1 or 2 times a year and its almost always when we visit a major city. thanks for watching.
Hi just want to ask are you happy with the izuzu. What's it like on fuel? Have you done a tune? I am looking to buy one to tow a 2.5 ton caravan. Do you think it will manage
@allanjosman2251 hey mate. Our vans 2750kg and the DMAX tows it beautifully, hardly notice we have a van back there. It's comfy to drive but some of the lane assist stuff is annoying at times. We have the 3.6 gvm upgrade and have about 100kg to spare on the rear axle though we do have the canopy and work stuff in there.
Hi Robert. We simply input every expense into a excel spreadsheet and track by categories e.g. fuel, food, accommodation etc. And do up a new one for each month. So sorry but yeah we do it manually.

Lol that intro. I was losing it laughing and hubby was saying "god that sounds familiar. Poor hubby".

@mickemery4486 yeah, the mornings are brilliant. If for nothing other than the peace and quiet haha.
Great vid fam ❤ we bring it in under 60K and do loads of paid activities but we use way less fuel travelling slower and stopping to work
Yeah, it's always dependent on the person and how they travel, $60K a year is good.

@@SvedosTrippin yeah agree and ours is more like 40k but had 2 x 20k+ blowouts on stupid vehicles blowing up motors 😆🤦♀️🤦♀️
@thecookievanaustralia yup, that's what I said on the vid. There is a disaster every year...
@@SvedosTrippin 100% roadlife definitely has its challenges, love seeing your faces xx

Enjoy the week ahead, safe travels and see you next week, Lyn ❤️
@lynbond5126 thanks Lyn. Just a heads up we might be off-line the next 2 weeks. We had to fly back to the GC for a funeral.
Thanks for the heads up. Hope you guys are ok . Funerals are always hard 🙏 Hopefully you get to catch up with family xx
Great vid. We’re also looking at getting new water filter so keen to hear what brand you’ve gone with
Maybe do a whole episode on your must see places, state by state.
❤ the intro guys, the old fake sleeping Mel 😂😂 Great informative vid as always 😊
I also have a drop toilet phobia Mel😂. Thanks for sharing your tips guys🙂
Great episode again Guys! I love using Chat GPT but have never thought to use it for an episode. Love it!!

@GoYourOwnWay49 thanks so much Corrie. Stoked to hear the positive feedback.
I agree South Australia is very underrated
Haha, Eneabba... EN-E-ABBA. cheers. Agree about Wiki Camps, its very annoying how slow it takes to load.
Yeah, what's with wikki these days... and we had a sneaking suspicion we were pronouncing it wrong.
Eee-knee-ABBA
A great video and some great insights, thanks for sharing. Any chance you could make your budget spreadsheet (with dummy figures) available?

70 a week what a ripper. Pizza in Melbourne cost $50 to feed 2 adults and 2 kids.
the town is pronounced Inny--abba😁😁
Yeah, had a sneaky suspension we were getting it wrong.
Thanks for letting us know about this site, we liven in Geraldton years back and never heard about this. Keep up the great content, love it.
May I ask where you are getting the Long Range tank installed in Perth... Great content Guy's
@MrFrostice55 we went to "peel 4WD" in Mandurah, it was cheaper than all the quotes we got done in Perth.
What app do you use to track your $$$?!
Cheers, r
