"Originally recorded in 1992 as a demo tape which Romeo had sent out to various guitar publications, the album that would eventually become The Dark Chapter garnered the attention of a Japanese record label named Zero Corporation, who expressed an interest in further material.[2] Romeo then joined up with keyboardist Michael Pinnella to re-record the album for a CD release through Zero in 1994, after which both musicians went on to form Symphony X.[3] An entirely instrumental album, it bears many similarities to the progressive metal stylings of Symphony X, and could be considered a direct precursor to their self-titled debut album which was released later in 1994."
What an iconic album from my favorite guitarist ever! Here's a FUN FACT for y'all that is mostly unknown to people: - The title tracks "Sevil Alucard" and "Noit Al Ever" are backronyms or reversgrams, they spell different words backwards! Thus reading "Dracula Lives" and "Revelation" ! Awesome right ? Romeo is a nerd and a genius! That's why I love this dude, plus he's talented AF obviously! You're welcome ;)
Oh, wow; didn't realize this album was instrumentals - I guess I should have guessed as who'd he get for a vocalist at this point. Kind of reminds me of the first Tolkki solo album in that way.
one of the greatest shred albums
Wow! I had no idea he released a solo album in the 90s. Such a fantastic musician
This is absolutely masterpiece. True darkness .

When I first heard this album, the drum tones were so realistic and the drum programming was so well done, I didn't realize it was a drum machine.
yeah it's actually pretty amazing to know that he actually programmed and composed all the elements
