You need that special for the heal stun set. You cannot replace it with another item

I have a doubt, will the set still works if we miss the timing? Like change it only after the stun, and not right before you got stunned?

You can change the set DURING stun, being hit and ACTIVATE the heal stun. This is particularly common since most of the stuns are given as AREA EFFECTS that trigger once the HP of the boss is lowered to a certain point.
So, no need no activate before the stun. You can activate anytime always and when u get hit to heal the stun.
