Manning's first 3 years in Denver was easily the best 3-year stretch of his career and arguably the best ever by a QB (at least from a statistical standpoint). 38-10 QB record, 67.7% completion percentage, 14,863 passing yards, 131 passing TDs, and 36 interceptions (that's an average of 4,954 yards, 44 TDs and 12 INTs per season). Other than his last year, he was truly special.

    • @tomshumate3940

I'd say his 04-06 run might have it beat. He would've won 7/8 mvps if it was only QBs from 03-09.

But going 2-3 in the playoffs those 3 seasons made it all kind of worthless, no?

I remember in the car on my way to school when I was listening to the sports radio in Denver when the news broke that we signed Peyton and my dad and I sat there for an hour in rejoicing that he came. It was like when Brady joins Tampa it was perfect. We had the defense, the weapons we just needed the guy and that guy doesn't get much better than Peyton fucking Manning. So when this game rolled around I was SO HYPE to see what we would get and form that day forth what I would get to watch every Sunday was a masterclass on how to play quarterback and someone who had mastered the position to the highest degree, winning over 12 games every year making the Superbowl 2 times in 4 years, one of if not the best offenses of all time in 2013 as well, so yea thank you NFL Throwback for allowing me to relive this day where my brain said "Oh shit, this is about to be one helluva 4 year stretch".

Peyton Manning from From Week 4 of 2012 to Week 13 of 2014, Peyton Manning averaged 3 TD Passes per Game for the Broncos.
    (41 starts - 123 TD Passes)
    34 Wins
    7 Losses*
    (82.9% winning percentage)
What his averages over those 41 starts would look like over a full 16 game season:
    442/644
    (68.6% completion rate)
    5,259 yards (8.2 YPA)
    49-50 TD Passes
    10 Interceptions
    111.7 Passer Rating
Peyton was just different those 1st 3 seasons.
Even when he lost his physical tools in 2015, he was still clutch when it mattered (109.1 Passer Rating in One Possession Games in the 4th Qtr) & that was enough along w/ a historic defense to win it all.

With all due respect to GOAT Tom Brady, but Peyton Manning at his peak was simply the smartest, most skilled, and innovative quarterback I’ve ever watched play the game. Didn’t have TB12’s ice cold veins in Super Bowls, but nobody since Johnny Unitas did more to evolve the Quarterback position than #18. If only his neck held out a little longer, we could’ve seen him and Mahomes go head to head.

In this video I have watched both PAYTON,and Eli,in past NFL clips, and both are in THE HALL OF FAME,in Kanton, but it's sad to see that there father ARCHIE,is not there, but who cares, both of his son's are thete, that's all that counts and both were from the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, as I follow the NFL DRAFT, and for the last 2 years, many NFL teams have picked up their 1st picks for the QB position, 1st round as well, usually from Southern Universities.
