    You have one of the only videos that actually explains the FEEL of the different plate materials rather than just the sound. Thank you very much for this! In my opinion, far too many videos these days are focused on the sounds of the boards more than the feel, which should be equally important.

    Funny that I’m up to 7 keyboards now and not one of them has an Alu plate. I wonder if PC is more standard at this point. At least for customs.

    • @Callsign-Dingo-7
      @Callsign-Dingo-7 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      PC became a more popular plate over the course of the pandemic. It was also popularized because of several beginner-oriented boards like the GMK67 and the chasing of the deep low-pitch sound that most folks call 'thocc'
      But things change, and now the high-pitch sound that folks call 'clack' is in with switch manufacturers like HMX coming into the fold, just goes to show that there's always a little something for everyone.

    Hey man , Im new to this hobby. I just bought Keychron V1 (tray) then I just learned about the gasket mount on Q1.
    Im thinking of buying PC plate to use on my V1 but I don't know if I will get the typing experience as the gasket on Q1?
    I have never tried a gasket mounted keyboard and I don't really know how it feels.
    Do you have any opinion on Tray mounted keyboard with PC plate vs gasket mounted keyboard with metal plate?

    Hey man, do you think it's worth to change plate for weight reduction? Thinking about using CF plate for that.

    • @Blacksimon
      @Blacksimon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assuming you've already reduced as much as possible with a lighter case, and thinner caps. Sure I guess?
      Kinda goes against the spirit of plate changes, since those are done for sound and feel before all else.
      PP/POM and other plastic plates are very light as well, as is FR4, so I suggest you explore those before commiting to a more complicated plate to work with

      I am still incredibly happy with MX Blacks (60g L springs, L&F) on alu. I love the slight chalky sound with overall such a poppy, bright and positive sound signature. I would say, for a lack of a better word, that this board sounds "happy".
