Thank you very much, Micheal, for shearing this because hopefully it will be useful to many people.
On the other side, I regret that you have diabetes in this stage. I suppose that all I can say and wish is that your health improve quickly.
    Best regards.

Many thanks, Raoul, my friend. At least I have it under control - hopefully!

Greedy people absolutely do see the existence of love and moral values as an opportunity to prey on, exploit, and enslave others to produce money for themselves. Since many of us merely want to survive to contribute to the lives of our loved ones, they can get us over the barrel there too. God bless you.

I’ve had injections for five years. In the last few months my right eye is back to normal, so no more injections for the right eye. My left eye is still getting better but at a much slower rate. Now I get injections every 8 weeks on the left eye and new scans on both eyes every 16 weeks. The doctor thinks by the end of the year I’ll just need injections every 10 - 12 weeks.

That's wonderful news, and congratulations. It's my left is worst, too, I think. I just hope that the injections are going to improve things, but after the first five, of course, I'll have to wait for a full scan and test before I can tell. At least the blood sugars are way down (off to get a three monthly HbA1c this afternoon), so I am pretty sure that any decline in function will not be due to glucose spikes. The good thing is, the new versions of drug coming through, which appear to have stunning results and should help a lot of people like us.

Thank you, Michael. I have a few family members who have been told they have diabetes, and I'm not at all sure they are fully helping themselves as they fail to monitor their diets and so forth. I think too many people think of it as just one of those things, but, as you say, it can be devastating to the eyes and extremities. I think people underestimate it. I do sympathise with you that it does open a door into the unknown, it's going to lead to worry, but what can we do but just hope for the best, and of course you are keeping an eye on it unlike a lot of people who either don't know they have it or who can't be bothered to keep a close eye on it after diagnosis.

I do think the main thing is, to keep a close watch on exercise, diet and stop eating sugars and starchy foods! Otherwise victims will lose limbs, will go blind, and cause other issues with internal organs. It's a horrible disease, but the daft thing is, it's controllable!

I started injections of avastin which didn't do much, then eylea which was such a huge improvement and a few months ago switched to vabysmo which has held now 4 months and my blind spot in my right eye has gotten smaller. Very happy with vabysmo. I go for my follow up images in 2 weeks so it should be interesting to see the actual progess or degradation. Keep at it.

Best of luck - I'm still on Eyelea, which appears to be helping, so I've been pushed down to an injection every six weeks rather than four. Just hoping it all keeps working! Thanks for the comment.

I have had floaters but have since disappeared, thankfully. Recently an examination has revealed a few cones and rods have stopped working. The opthalmologist said that this is not uncommon with people with diabetes. Colors will start to fade or change in shade. Hopefully your procedures will be successful.
My feet have lost feeling but the tips have grown cold. My feeling (pun unintended) is it is a circulation matter, not neuropathy. I do check every morning.

Cheers, Paul. That's interesting - I have the same chilly toes now, and I assume the same cause. I may have to do some more research into that. On the floaters, I'm glad they've gone. I'm nervous about any further deterioration in my eyes, since as a painter and writer, the damn things are pretty key, but there's little to be done other than the monthly injections for now.
Best of luck. Like you, I check my feet every morning just in case!
