Since she is talking about it directly, I thought you would appreciate it a little bit more versus the automated voice. There was also a show called Crown Princess Project that was hosted by a group of respectful gagman hosts, and it also featured other kpop idols. (There's a part towards the end of the segment where she touches base on her past and how poverty had affected her.) I want to say that both of these videos were during her You and I promotions, so that are a bit outdated as far as video quality goes. I couldn't find any YT links to share but they are available on other content platforms.

I think she only resume her activity in 2015 because a lot of her staff was about to leave cause they don't have pay if she doesn't have activities like her stylist, makeup artist, dancer so she ask her company that she will renew her contract in exchange for her staff to have a secure pay that regardless if she is working or not they will still receive a salary.

Not gonna lie, this video shows you exactly that Koreans will try to cancel anything and everything. Almost every year another controversy about nothing. I absolutely hate that idols have to apologize for things they shouldn't have to apologize for.
my take :
1. mia failed miserably --> this is not particularly true, bcs at least Mia could plant to the public the image of "there is a rookie debuted with good singing/ musical skill". She already sang with guitar in Mia era as well.
Many her peers recognized her for singing skills since Mia ... Also from then she changed her style/approach to be more cutesy/ idol-like, but even at 2009 ppl already said "I like her style in Mia more..."
2.Good Day is not a one night success. I repeat: Good Day is not one night success. She (and her agency/ management) built slowly from 2009 - 2010, and Good Day(while yes, its very influential) just a trigger. In fact, she got Top 10 Bonsang in 2010 Golden Disk Award bcs of Nagging (feat Seulong from 2AM). Nagging is her #1 national hit.
3.Its true, "pink shoes" in Korean. This has a deep explanation, bcs Red Shoes/ Pink Shoes (and Modern Times) touch a deeper (hidden) concept like abt "idealism" vs "commercialism" and "idols/ artist choice in career". Actually, in MV and lyrics, its also "pink" if you watch/ read very carefully
4.that "missing child" campaign, if you notice it comes from her debut song , Mia (missing child)... so yeah it has a deeper meaning, sort of "comeback to debut mentality/ mindset" ....
