As long as you live in a society that values women based on youth and beauty that is always going to fade and the men are always going to chase youth and beauty. Gu Jia didn't even try to tame her husband once, all she attempted was to stop her husband continuing the fire work project, but which he didn't and it turned out disastrous coz of the mistress only. He lied about it but why?? That's the reason.
The man took the vow, but the mistress joined hands with him to be in that secret relationship, knowing he's married. How is she innocent?? It wasn't like she was forced to or made to sign a contract. It was at her own will. And why do we need to support that. @@dr.dee_iris1846 okay we can agree to disagree. In the movie they made the young girl I believe early on she was the one who pursued the man correct? I didn't see the early movies. However, in real life I have a lot of experience as I am nearly 50 years old. In my early twenties and my mid twenties I had many best friends who were involved with married men. Each one of them were told the same lie that the man was divorcing their wife and the men heavily pursued my friends. Two of the men left the wife to marry the girl, two stayed with the wife. These men were all much older than the girl and complained about their wives are old or fat or lazy. I don't care but I do see too much the young girl is to blame when young girls know nothing about life and the men do all the manipulating and pursuing of the young girl in real life most of the time and tell her lies promising her a future. One thing is for sure the wife is never ever to blame but only I can blame her if she stays with a cheater I think she is really stupid it will happen again.

I have seen this scene numerous times and it shows how a woman that only knows the best side of a man thinks she know him. He only knows him clean , with money but don’t realice behind that man there is a wife perfect or not a woman that accompanied him to grow to get better . And the man think because the wife don’t let him eat foods or late at night or play football is a bad woman . The man had fights with young boys when he played fútbol and she had to take him out police station. Really some woman don’t see further than the nose .that man was like a child from start to end .

I would want this friends in my life. The mitress really thought, he own the man, that she win over the wife. Gu Jia doesn't even want him back anymore. Cheating is the biggest form of betrayal. You'll loss yourself, it's a form of insult and degrading. If it's only a mistake it's forgivable but it's not a one time affair, lust or game, he developed feelings for her.
