They aren't insane. They're greedy criminals, and should be arrested for racketeering and fraud.

They don't see it now, and they don't see it after a country, region, or city are destroyed. They never do. One of consequences of altruism is that in following it, one must look to others as a standard of judgement and not to reality. The prominence of altruism has created a culture of social metaphysicians that view facts as malleable or irrelevant.

The strongest case for supernatural powers more and more seems to be Ayn Rand's ability to predict the future.

Those promises are not a claim on me or anybody else. The public employees are unquestionably responsible for not making sure they were operating in a sound fiscal manor. They absolutely should bear the full price of this malfeasance which happened under their stewardship. No bail out, no transfer of the results of other citizens productive means. Fail fail fail.

They obviously found a tiny speck of overlooked freedom under Detroit rubble and said, "Aha!"

They had "good" intentions, therefore they are blameless.

1 Million of the most productive producers have left Detroit. Why would anybody stay? Atlas has left Detroit.

They may have been motivated by job security but morally defended it w/altruism.

Dead right. Hopefully, lessons will be learned. If not, only bad things await us.
