boletaria castle actually looks pretty different in the original demon's souls, being medieval instead of gothic edit: also, the royal mistress sang completely differently in the original
Marvelous comparisons! I'd have been so happy if DeS remake could've gotten that final Archstone (even as DLC), but it'd probably have been too similar to the Mountaintops in Elden Ring.
An orange battery comparison I noticed is the Renalla Phase 1 seems to have elements of the Fool's Idol. The majestic floating from the ceiling, having multiple worshippers, having to kill certain ones to even kill the boss, and I guess being very magic based if you wanna go that route
I felt that Grafted Scions were the Prisoner Horde callback. Somewhat similar attacks, with multilimbed flailing if you get close. Certainly Graven Mages share the "lots of things melded together" theme, so you're not necessarily off with your comparison. But do consider the Grafted Scions as well. Fun video. From likes returning to old ideas so there's lots of no doubt purposeful and accidental callbacks to be found.
The colorless fog thing is more of a general Fromsoft reference/writing trope then a Demons Souls reference. Deep colorless fogs go back to Kings Field on Playstation 1. They've used that tripe many many many MANY times and will continue to do so going forward. It's like a developer/author trope at this point.

Thank you for the documentation! I may have missed but in both games players have to destroy the “thorns” to get to the final boss. (This also applies to DS1 Bed of Chaos)
Great video, always noticed the huge overlap of both games, really disappointed that you chose to go with the remake visuals though. They completely lack respect for the originals vision and art direction. I really hope that you have played the original and not just the remake.
these two games can’t possibly be any more different. i mean, one game is about a traveller crossing a wall of fog into a kingdom that’s been crumbling for years and years, with the ultimate goal being to go into a giant tree to kill a corrupt monarch who has 2 different forms, all the while being assisted by a sight impaired maiden, and the other is… uh…
Downvoted. Don't use the Bluepoint remaster to make visual comparisons. Fromsoft had nothing to do with the revised (and inferior) aesthetic of the remaster.
Lol look I'm the biggest og Demon's Souls stan ever and even I'm like alright bro. I used og Demon's Souls when it's relevant, if not, it didn't matter to me and simply used DeSR for the 1080p footage

There's also the "Inseparable Sword" wielded by D which is a similar design to the 'Northern Regalia' of Demon's Souls.
Oh wow yeah I just got a closer look at it, it's subtle but it does have that merged sword design 🧐super neat, thanks for pointing it out!

Romanesque, instead of Gothic. Both romanesque and gothic architecture are from medieval.

I mean they do a snowy area in nearly every game, they tend to have different flavors, coulda worked out
The miners in various caves resemble the stone fang miners

ooooh thats a good one, definitely didn't think of that one haha

One of many 😅
did you not mention the golden epitaph being the rune sword or did I miss it
I think I missed that one unfortunately, but a good one 👍
Okay, I'm subbing and now about to buy this game just because of the Demon's Souls references. You have me sold.
🥹👉👈 I will say, its still a very different game from Demon's Souls, but yeah it does pay tribute to it a fair amount
That theme mashup there works so damn good

Boletaria wasn't crumbling for years, at most it's a couple months, everything is still working only the souls of the people have been corrupted
Patches is as unique as he could be wdym Kappa (also great video, those comparisons are cool)
The most unique :) and thxxx
Very well done Berto.
Tyty 😌
Using the remake for comparison ? Really ??
Most of these are really far-fetched... Sure patches is there but it's more a general souls game reference than a Demon's souls callback.

@@BertoPlease You say that, but I clicked off when you were using the remaster's Boletaria as a comparison to Stormveil.
Minor opinion. I think that it is more than fine.😊
