I just moved here last year up the street from Crown Cinema. This is FASCINATING! I like it here. I wish the Springs Cotton Mill was still here 😢. They took the clock tower from Spingarn Cotton Mill and moved it to Founders on Hwy Bypass next to Walgreens.
After Wal-Mart left Lancer Center for the Supercenter where Badcock is at was Quality Farm
If my memory serves, the hospital was named Elliot White Springs Memorial hospital. I’m from Chester but spent some time in Lancaster.
It was
My paternal grandfather owned the first motel . The red rose motel on 200 South. And my maternal grandfather ran Hinson wholesale. Him and his brothers owned it. And hi brother was a state representative named Red Hinson.
And there once was a drive in there where the meat center is. It was an X rated one back in the day. The late 60s early 70s
At least in the 90s the place on the right before you get to Emmanuel Church was Patio a drive-in restaurant
Belk store used to be on main Street.
Old sears next to crown
The fair grounds and the VFW not the Armory, Armory is on Nichols Rd across from the Glenwood Heights Baptist Church
Nate, are you from Lancaster?
Were you in Lancaster back in 2000?
You look and sound so familiar.
Belks use to be uptown and the Chinese restaurant was a paint store.
The park is were Belk’s use to be before moving the the Lancaster square and BC Moores moved in there later before it was tore down and made into a park
24 mins in... had no idea it was a Food Lion at one point. It's been a shoe place now (various ones) for years. Most stores there don't last 1 year. Weird.
It used to be Food Town first, then Food Lion. But yes, that's where it was when Rose's was where Food Lion is now.
I lived with my Grandfather when I was 16 out off highway 9 when going into town for d typically cross highway 9 from holiday road to the left over to the next little side road then take that road till it dead ended take a left and eventually come out at the intersection where bilow and kfc were .
Shopped often at bilow, worked for a while at that kfc .
Done a good job on Lancaster. You cover a lot of area. Well done. 😊😊😊
Beside McDonalds it was a Holly farms chicken fast food and then it was Shrimp Boat after that

OReillys used to be Family Dollar.
Both me and my mom were watching this thinking that doesn’t belong.
Sherman's boys tried to burn it down at the end of the War. I was helping my parents clean up after Dolly in South Texas, when I heard what they did.
I love Lancaster, I spent my first cognizant days on earth there! One of my favorite memories of Downtown Lancaster as a child, was smelling the Chili Dogs. That's why we were there mostly!
The old Harris teeter building is no longer. They tore it down in September
I used to stop in at Harris teeter on my way to first and adult ed GED class then latter when working at the Lancaster plant springs.
How many drive-in theaters did lancaster need?
The video has mentioned like 3
There were 1 was a porn drive in
My mom told me about the porn drive in theater. I found it funny such a place would be allowed in Lancaster.
The X rated on was on the by-pass where auto zone and meat center are now
Sky City before tractor supply
Before Tractor Supply was Sweet Union Furniture home of the Big Chair.
I live through Desegregation in Charlotte, if you are interested I will share with you! How can I share my email with you?
