Rip and Garry Shandling were both intelligent and very deep thinkers. No wonder they had such good chemistry on the Larry Sanders show . RIP both.

I first watched The Larry Sanders Show as a 14 year old back in the 90's. I genuinely dreamed of growing up to be the character Artie.

Rip Torn was interviewed for the book Working. We had to read it my sophomore year in high school. I found him absolutely fascinating.

"Bountiful" from her Academy Award winning performance is just down the road from my house but I discovered the wonder of Geraldine Page long before the days of Bountiful. I fell in love with her as a boy in the late 1960s and early 70s. I humbly consider myself her greatest fan and I am in utter and continual disbelief that this astonishing talent isn't the subject of multiple productions and bidding wars for rights. She is the first thing I think of when I hear the word "actress". Her professional and personal life are ripe, rich and perfect for great storytelling. It is so sad to see the potential in her legacy lost to time...so very sad. Like so many others I will be content to sit in a darkened room and gaze upon that still silver screen and relish every nuance of her perfectly flawless performances and celebrate her work and her talent and the gift that she gave us all... So thanks Geraldine. Sincerely...thank you.

And what a tremendous accolade from the greatest stage actor of all time. Olivier.

peculiar actor: he almost always kept pieces of his ranch accent, kind of a
ranch dressing on every salad he ever served, very precise phrasing but
a definate drawl. And an extremely interesting actor: he and tommy lee jones
, did they ever do anything together??? that would be a match off.

With NO rival, the GREATEST comedy actor EVER on The Larry Sanders Show...EVER! There is no second place, third place...Kelsey Grammar might touch his talent...end of story! No debate. If you do not understand this, you simply do not understand.

Ummmm I agree he was fantastic in every way and truly made that show. But Carroll O'Connor as Archie Bunker was the greatest of all time. He was the lead character, which Rip Torn was not, for 9 seasons as America's number one show, and most important ever. If you're too young to have watched it, I forgive you.
If you're not, I still forgive you. But you're wrong. Do yourself a favor and watch All in the Family here for free on TH-cam .
As Archie would say. CASE CLOSED.
