As someone who uses a blocky and fancy-ish style myself, I believe this should be a huge concern for our avatars. Not only for obbies, shooting games etc, but for actual avatars. Using my style with R15 is horrible. It looks just like it doesn't match. R6 fits it. R6 has been with us for so long! We cannot just let it go! Lets hope we can stop this. Have a great day!

As a Roblox dev myself, I can confirm this WILL break a lot of games that use R6 if this is put into action. The reason why is that R6 has 1 part in the middle of the character called "Torso". So a lot of gun scripts for example use the Torso part to aim etc. For R15 it's " LowerTorso" and "UpperTorso". There is also a part called "HumanoidRootPart" which is in R6, R15 and RTHRO. However, most scripts that use R6 just use the Torso part instead of HumanoidRootPart. Why? They are basically copies of each other. HumanoidRootPart is an invisible torso with CanCollide off. The reason HumanoidRootPart exists is because some Roblox scripts themselves use HumanoidRootPart. So if all scripts that use the torso just change everything that says "Torso" to "HumanoidRootPart" nothing will change. (Not a Roblox admin obviously, I make games.) Am I getting subs from this comment? Damn.
I personally think R6 should be in the game. As you mentioned in the video a lot of popular games use R6 such as Tower Of Hell, Arsenal, most obbies and many more. The worst part about this, is that some people are obsessed with games that use R6, including me. If Roblox ever thinks of removing R6 or even R15, they should mostly consider asking for our, players' opinions. I really hope R6 doesnt get removed:)
This shouldn’t be touched. Never remove any avatar package, clothing or body type. It removes creativity. Don’t do the same thing you did with heads roblox
honestly i feel like roblox is assamed of its past and is trying to hide it and force us to use arthro. when will roblox just take a step back and see what the community wants and stop the investors telling them ways arthro can make them money via bundles
They better not. That could break tons of games which rely on R6 movement. A lot of people also use R6, which could cause Roblox to lose tons upon tons of money by removing R6. Some players could even quit.
Personally for my own project, with the previous update to the terms of service about 'no R6 or R15 avatars for comercial use', I started making my own avatar for this project. However this avatar is more for animation, and is meant to have eye movement, blinking (working on figuring that out) and complex hand movements (it has moveable fingers). This is NOT for any roblox games for several reasons, one of which being I don't know how in the world to make shirts and pants work without just using mesh IDs instead. Having worked on some games before and having dabbled in scripting, this will mess things up, especially in scripts as R6 has less parts than R15. Regardless, I need to consider moving everything to a different platform as roblox is slowly crashing and burning
Roblox won't remove R6 avatars, in a FAQ on the DevForum in an article they said that they always wanna keep R6 and R15 as they are part of their website, so that's a no.

Well, I’m mostly angry with Roblox, they’re taking the most classic and adored parts of Roblox, like the off which I know was for legal reasons but still, the R6 avatars, and I’ve seen some things that the Taller avatar thing is to make the avatars more humanoid, I think the fact that they are removing things like this, shows that Roblox isn’t thinking to much about the players, more of if it just fits into this generation. But soon it’s not even going to be Roblox. It’s just gonna be some old game that people tell you about and then end it with “And Roblox kinda ruined their own game by taking away things that are very important to the players, and adding things that nobody wants.” Personally I think that they should keep R6 avatars.
If Roblox does do this, I feel like it will make the platform a disaster. They don’t listen to the people who play but what they think is “modernizing” the game. If they do this the platform will go down hill as it has been slowly getting worse for months with rthro and the colabs they have but this would be a big chnage
Imo this will break obbies the most on the professional side. The R6 avatar is extremely important to most of the tricks such as wall hops ladder flicks wraparounds etc. because of the precise hitbox of the R6 avatar. The R6 avatar is precise meaning you can do the same jump without worrying about the hitbox. R15 avatars are clunky and changes hitboxes when the avatar cycle is playing. This update (if it does happen) will in no doubt, kill the obby genre and the people who specialize in it.
I also jtoh fan it would ruin so much hard boy progress on people’s accounts. The only result would be roblox stock going even lower as obbiests quits.

I’m not happy about this because I have a lot of friends who use the blocky r6 style, including myself. This also would break games that use r6 which would cost developers more of their time and effort on a game they already have completed/almost completed. If they were to delete it this would take a big part of Roblox’s past away and it would make great working games glitchy. I really hope they think about this more.
To be honest, I've been talking to other developers about this and we've always joked about it. ''Could you imagine if roblox removes R6 avatars?''. But seeing this is an actual possbility (Roblox has already made some very crazy updates over the past months) is quite scary. There are a few problems that immediately come to mind when I'm hearing this (From a developer perspective): - Any R6 game with Animations will break - R6 avatars are light (weight), and smooth and as you mentioned ''behave the same way'', making good or even professional obbies with R15 is very difficult. With obbies being a huge part of the roblox community, this could have a very drastic effect on the future of obby games and the community itself. - Developers will be ''forced'' to change their R6 games. R15 and R6 behave completely different. I can tell with 100% certainty that many animations, scripts, and tools could break, which forces developers to completely revamp them. Think of weapons with reload animations, NPCs that use R6 avatars, hitboxes, swords, etc. These are all problems that developers can run into. This is even a worse problem for developers that aren't actively updating their game. - There are many ''group'' games on roblox, such as Star Wars groups, Military groups, Cafe games, all of their scripted tools could completely break (guns, eating animations), and will completely kill a big part of the roblox community. - A huge portion of the roblox games are still in R6, I dare to say if not the majority. Many popular games have converted to R15, but many games that are ''sub-level'' popular with thousands of players work with R6. Changing avatars will create a huge wave of panic and broken games. - The community will have an outrage. This is a topic where developers can absolutely rage upon. As a matter of fact, it is already happening right now. As soon as this topic came up, developers started bombarding twitter with the negative outcomes of removing R6. Insisting their game can only work with R6, and other desperate comments on how this could potentially kill off a big part of roblox. (which to my believe, is partially correct) - This point is a little more opinionative, but creating games with R15 and Rthro seems more difficult, animating, tools, making games look ''good'' seems progressively more difficult. I've noticed it's only getting harder and harder to make a ''decent'' game on roblox since the standard of games are skyrocketing, which eventually makes it less attractive to make games yourself, which is partially what roblox is all about. I can not think of a good enough reason to remove R6 if you compare it to the many negative outcomes it will bring to the platform. Roblox is completely contradicting itself. Wow smh. Roblox is slowly picking apart the old Roblox. First, they remove oof, now they are (maybe) removing r6. if they do it will completely ruin my game because half the stages on my obby require r6 to be able to complete. I think with roblox moving towards being more of a "metaverse", and removing all the things that made it the game platform in their original scope, theyre gonna lose the players and creators that make it roblox. Which will then create no income, and loss of investors. I believe everything theyre doing is leading them towards death. As someone who has been playing since 2014, if this is real (hopefully not) a lot of nostalgic games that I used to play will now be broken as some of the devs either don’t play anymore or are not alive. I would be sad to see r6 go, it’s apart of me, it what makes Roblox, and it’s what made my childhood.
Honestly, they shouldn’t remove any types of bodies. They should just stop trying to push people to use rthro and instead let people be who they want to be and dress as they want to,unless a person wants to wear explicit clothing to online date. Anyways if this is true, then who knows what lengths ROBLOX will go to to push rthro avatars onto everyone’s avatar. As a dude who played as a guest then made an account in 2015, it actually hurts to see ROBLOX butchering themselves instead of adding more. I miss when ROBLOX evolved instead of devolving. TLDR: ROBLOX is losing to itself.
I agree, it seems that Roblox is really pushing "In with the new, and out with the old." It's sad to see all the nostalgia and things that people think of when Roblox is brought up be removed and never seen again. At this point it feels like Roblox has become a whole different game and it's really heartbreaking to see them throw away the old community.
I remember helping my sister build a sword fight game. It featured the Illumina and the Overseer Sword. They wouldn’t do a thing until I switched the avatars to R6 only. Not all classic tools have R15 compatibility, and not all modern recreations of such tools have R6 compatibility. If this update actually happens, around half (just an estimate) of the games on ROBLOX will become unplayable. Also ROBLOX, if you’re reading this, yes I said game.

As a player on roblox since 2017, I can probably speak for a lot of people, that customizing my avatar and putting work into it and making everything match nice is part of roblox. It makes the game unique, and really let’s you be proud of what you have created. But with what roblox is trying to do, it will take all the originality out of the game and only let us use rthro characters and not really feel that sense of uniqueness. And that is a big part of roblox to me, so I really hope they don’t take away r6. (My opinion btw but feel free to say your opinions in replies)

My main concern if they did remove R6, is the making of new games, especially with animating. If you didnt know, R6 avatars have only 6 different body parts that you can move, which makes it accessible for new developers (like me) to learn how to animate (and its just more fun imo). R15 avatars instead have those 6 body parts split up into a ton of different parts, which CAN lead towards waaay better animations, but you have to spend so much more time on making it look good, which makes it very difficult. If roblox does plan to remove R6, I just cant see how Roblox can get any worse. Roblox is a community run game. They honestly shouldnt be adding or subtracting any features that they have, minus maybe some bug fixes and additions to studio that makes making games easier. Every single thing that Roblox is doing these days is making the platform worse, and harder to use, and I just cant understand how Roblox thinks its a good idea. Ok thats it with my rant lol.
Removing R6 would really mess up my game as it heavily relies of R6, the gun system, morphs etc will be completely broken and I would need to re-rig almost everything. And many games still use R6.
Fun fact: Many Animators use R6 because the walking and jumping animation are easy to remake unlike R15 (R15's walking animation or jumping animation is hard to remake) so R6 may never be forgotten for a really really long time
To be honest, Roblox removing R6 is a bad idea. There is a lot of good thing's you can do with R6. I'm sure the reason they want to remove R6 is to force player's to use Rthro, when literally, most Roblox player's would rather instead use the Blocky avatar.
My thoughts are the exact same, some games that even use R6, currently the game I play, then you change the body parts position, of course, it forces the avatar to turn R6. I just hope it won't break anything in any other games that are R6, Hopefully some games are put in R15 or Player's Choice, I just hope they won't remove R6. Because in the fact right now, popular obbies, games like 3008 that uses R6 (Thankfully 3008 is now R15 I suppose due to the update). But I guess creators of some R6 games are offline right now, they wouldn't even be able to update it, because they might be focusing on some other stuff. Hope Roblox doesn't remove R6, the whole game would be in chaos right now. (Edit: I think oldschool animation will do-? I mean, the standing on oldschool looks like R6.)
Removing R6 will destroy the entire obbying and specially jtoh community, as with R6, there are so many things you can do (wallhop, ladder flicks, wraparound, headhitters) while with R15, its almost impossible to do them.
This would cause slap battles to pretty much be broken and tencell would have to write a script where it plays an animation when you walk that is very similar to R6
I feel like they should not touch as removing this is going to impact the community a lot. It’s going to break some R6 revolved games and for me, the R6 animation is iconic and reminds me of old Roblox. Well, this is pretty surprising news to be honest. I have a lot of friends who use R6 avatars. It will be so heartbreaking when they see this video (That is if they watch you) Hope this doesn’t happen to my friends because it will effect them alot
As a developer. Arsenal wouldn’t break if they push this update. The viewmodel arms are the only thing “r6”. The arsenal developers have some sort of “startercharacter” set up, therefore avatar changes will not be ported over to the skins. Anyways, the problem is that all my hard worked animations on my games are going to break because I mainly use r6. I’m not spending 100+ hours converting all my animations into r15! If this is a real update and gets pushed to the publuc, expect a huge crowd in front of the roblox hq.
As a game developer myself, this will have game breaking glitches in many r6 ONLY games. It will cause the main avatar and the animation itself to just glitch out. Some games, yes such as aresenal, counterblox, obbys, etc. With their devs no longer being around will cause their games to bug, and drop the player rate a ton. If some big developers have already seen this warning I would get prepared just incase they do follow through with this.

Lets say they just use the torso like arsenal, the torso will most likely disappear, and the gun and arms are attached to the torso for the camera to work, so you would see just the sky, you wouldnt be able to move your screen (maybe) and will cause you to freeze, breaking the animation
3RD EDIT: KREEK WHY UNHEART? 1:38 R6 is a truely crucial aspect for obby games, as an experienced obby player myself. Basic obby games like the one shown here are not as affected but the harder and more proffessional obbies require features only available with R6 avatars (wall hops, ladder flicks, corner clips, long jumps, and many more). This update may remove all of these abilites or make them significantly more difficult, but I still have some faith in developers, as I imagine that they could fix this by creating custom animations and bring some of the features back, maybe as a model for anyone’s use. Yes, in a game called Juke's Towers of Hell, a game where you have to beat obby based towers, I have beaten a tower called Tower of True Skill and I'm not even sure if some of the jumps are possible on R15.
Yes i love playing difficulty chart obby's etc but if Roblox removes r6 it would be impossible or just nearly unplayable because of the movement on rthro or r15 because the player parts would be touching the kill parts or ladder flick parts and yeah thats making Roblox lose atleast 20% of the players that are playing it currently

if you equip a bunch of free rthro parts in piggy, you can just walk instead of crouching in vents. even with small r15 avatars, actually. no wonder some games set rthro avatars to empty r6 avatars with only an rthro head.

Since those so called “leaked documents” came out, I’ve been completely doubting that Roblox would be removing R6 as it has been part of the platform since it’s early years. I still don’t really understand how some people cannot realise that it isn’t even 100% confirmed with some youtubers not even helping either as some instantly say that it’s gonna get removed making this information spread around even more.

R6 runs the heart and soul of my work in Roblox studio, so if they remove it I will have to code everything again and I would have tons of trouble making things work the way they should, every FPS game on Roblox (including mine in progress) needs R6 to run their weapon system. Roblox Dev here, Its true that by removing R6 off the platform it will break pretty much most good games. I myself use R6 alot. maybe for a roleplaying game R6 wont change it but most of the platform will break incase they do remove it. Pretty much all of my games are using R6 avatars because, 1. Theyre easier to animate and code, 2. Theyre hitboxes and other parts are the same and, 3. Using speech for a NPC is easier by using R6 since we have to just attach the dialog and dialog choice to the head (or any scripts for a custom chat system). Roblox is basically just trying to make money without the players and dev's interest at heart.
Roblox has never cared about not breaking old games with their updates, I don’t see them caring now. Just look at old gear people have bought from the catalog, a large amount of them don’t even function at all.
I personally think roblox should make a new avatar R22, which is a mesh, and animated by mesh deformation. As currently on roblox that is the newest way for developers to make better models and animations and stuff. It will still be the ‘classic’ R15 avatar look, but just animated differently and better.

Continuing more than 8 years of playing Roblox, I myself says this is yet another damaging thing Roblox is doing to themselves. Removing R6 Means so many different things that could damage Roblox entirely. 1 being the obvious hitboxes/games being broken from all the avatars. R6 is a very fair Roblox animation, having the same hitbox in every aspect of it. Walking, jumping, ect. RRTHO has tons and tons of different creations in it like Kreek said, tall and small ones that go out of the boundaries of height, thickness, and jump height in them. Another damaging thing is the communities thoughts and the originality of the animation. The community is almost officially done with Roblox and what they have done to the game, and this one takes away noslogia, and original thought from it. People aren't happy. And lastly is a branch-off community, the obby community. There is 2 that I want to talk about First of all the Devs from it, they hate this idea because of the easy ways of overcoming the obstacles and cheating the obby, from what I listed and Kreek said, the tall and short avatars being the reason. They want a fair game of obbies all around, and Roblox takes away all of this which doesn't make any obby fair and enjoyable. Next is the more professional obby and more skilled obbist's (including me). First of all, this breaks any difficult jumps, glitches, wraps, etc of being performed correctly/how the dev created it at first. These avatars could overcome the obstacles and just win the obby easily without a purpose, ruining the enjoyment of the game. I am very disappointed of Roblox and what they have done to their game, and not listening to their community. As they want to keep it as "futuristic as possible" this is ruining everything they have, and every choice they make in these days upsets the community. Hoping to see a change.

My perspective- this document is definitely fake, roblox can be dumb sometimes but they won’t be so dumb to remove it because the whole discover tab is literally r6. In fact 99 percent of the developers forums avatars are R6, I think they would pick up on that. But if it was real and it’s coming then it’s the end of roblox lol
if roblox actually removes R6, then the obby community eill be most effected by it, because with R6 you can do all sorts of glitches (/e dance2 clip, /e cheer glitch, flat clip, etc.) so games like obby creator will literally just break

Hopefully this doesn’t happen and R6 will stay. There a lot of sources where Roblox specifically stated that R6 and R15 will stay forever. I also agree that a lot of old games like obbies will break if R6 gets removed. And a lot of people like having classic blocky avatars to look like old veteran players or they like having R6 for fun. So hopefully Roblox doesn’t remove R6 and it will stay no mayyer what.
As a High Command, I can certify that games switch you to r6 entirely, and for this to happen enrages our developers. Let’s say TNI:V. Any sword PVP or PVE games switch you to the R6 avatar, and removes animations as they give advantages over other players. For anyone to leak this makes the developers rage.
As someone that uses R6 for my avatar and games, this is disappointing from such a large and rich platform. This can lead to many consequences like games glitching, developers like me that are making games are forced to change the whole system if using R6, and much much more. If they do this, Roblox is gonna become hellfire.
Roblox despises old avatars and animations for them, but mostly every player that plays Roblox enjoys using them. This is a huge problem for Roblox. If they want to remove old avatars including animations, it’s going to affect Roblox’s player base. Instead of making it better, they’re making it worse.

Removing r6 would be the most dumbest act roblox can do. There are tons of games that use r6 and they even made toys out of some of the r6 games. Take shark bite 1 for example.

I personally think R6 should be in the game. As you mentioned in the video a lot of popular games use R6 such as Tower Of Hell, Arsenal, most obbies and many more. The worst part about this, is that some people are obsessed with games that use R6, including me. If Roblox ever thinks of removing R6 or even R15, they should mostly consider asking for our, players' opinions. I really hope R6 doesnt get removed:)

Personally for my own project, with the previous update to the terms of service about 'no R6 or R15 avatars for comercial use', I started making my own avatar for this project. However this avatar is more for animation, and is meant to have eye movement, blinking (working on figuring that out) and complex hand movements (it has moveable fingers). This is NOT for any roblox games for several reasons, one of which being I don't know how in the world to make shirts and pants work without just using mesh IDs instead.
Having worked on some games before and having dabbled in scripting, this will mess things up, especially in scripts as R6 has less parts than R15.
Regardless, I need to consider moving everything to a different platform as roblox is slowly crashing and burning

Imo this will break obbies the most on the professional side. The R6 avatar is extremely important to most of the tricks such as wall hops ladder flicks wraparounds etc. because of the precise hitbox of the R6 avatar. The R6 avatar is precise meaning you can do the same jump without worrying about the hitbox. R15 avatars are clunky and changes hitboxes when the avatar cycle is playing. This update (if it does happen) will in no doubt, kill the obby genre and the people who specialize in it.

I’m not happy about this because I have a lot of friends who use the blocky r6 style, including myself. This also would break games that use r6 which would cost developers more of their time and effort on a game they already have completed/almost completed. If they were to delete it this would take a big part of Roblox’s past away and it would make great working games glitchy. I really hope they think about this more.
To be honest, I've been talking to other developers about this and we've always joked about it. ''Could you imagine if roblox removes R6 avatars?''. But seeing this is an actual possbility (Roblox has already made some very crazy updates over the past months) is quite scary.
There are a few problems that immediately come to mind when I'm hearing this (From a developer perspective):
- Any R6 game with Animations will break
- R6 avatars are light (weight), and smooth and as you mentioned ''behave the same way'', making good or even professional obbies with R15 is very difficult. With obbies being a huge part of the roblox community, this could have a very drastic effect on the future of obby games and the community itself.
- Developers will be ''forced'' to change their R6 games. R15 and R6 behave completely different. I can tell with 100% certainty that many animations, scripts, and tools could break, which forces developers to completely revamp them. Think of weapons with reload animations, NPCs that use R6 avatars, hitboxes, swords, etc. These are all problems that developers can run into. This is even a worse problem for developers that aren't actively updating their game.
- There are many ''group'' games on roblox, such as Star Wars groups, Military groups, Cafe games, all of their scripted tools could completely break (guns, eating animations), and will completely kill a big part of the roblox community.
- A huge portion of the roblox games are still in R6, I dare to say if not the majority. Many popular games have converted to R15, but many games that are ''sub-level'' popular with thousands of players work with R6. Changing avatars will create a huge wave of panic and broken games.
- The community will have an outrage. This is a topic where developers can absolutely rage upon. As a matter of fact, it is already happening right now. As soon as this topic came up, developers started bombarding twitter with the negative outcomes of removing R6. Insisting their game can only work with R6, and other desperate comments on how this could potentially kill off a big part of roblox. (which to my believe, is partially correct)
- This point is a little more opinionative, but creating games with R15 and Rthro seems more difficult, animating, tools, making games look ''good'' seems progressively more difficult. I've noticed it's only getting harder and harder to make a ''decent'' game on roblox since the standard of games are skyrocketing, which eventually makes it less attractive to make games yourself, which is partially what roblox is all about.
I can not think of a good enough reason to remove R6 if you compare it to the many negative outcomes it will bring to the platform.
Roblox is completely contradicting itself. I thought it was about powering imagination and self expression. And they're slowly cutting you off things that give you the ability to.

As someone who has been playing since 2014, if this is real (hopefully not) a lot of nostalgic games that I used to play will now be broken as some of the devs either don’t play anymore or are not alive. As a player on roblox since 2017, I can probably speak for a lot of people, that customizing my avatar and putting work into it and making everything match nice is part of roblox. It makes the game unique, and really let’s you be proud of what you have created. But with what roblox is trying to do, it will take all the originality out of the game and only let us use rthro characters and not really feel that sense of uniqueness. And that is a big part of roblox to me, so I really hope they don’t take away r6. (My opinion btw but feel free to say your opinions in replies)

My main concern if they did remove R6, is the making of new games, especially with animating. If you didnt know, R6 avatars have only 6 different body parts that you can move, which makes it accessible for new developers (like me) to learn how to animate (and its just more fun imo). R15 avatars instead have those 6 body parts split up into a ton of different parts, which CAN lead towards waaay better animations, but you have to spend so much more time on making it look good, which makes it very difficult. If roblox does plan to remove R6, I just cant see how Roblox can get any worse. Roblox is a community run game. They honestly shouldnt be adding or subtracting any features that they have, minus maybe some bug fixes and additions to studio that makes making games easier. Every single thing that Roblox is doing these days is making the platform worse, and harder to use, and I just cant understand how Roblox thinks its a good idea. Ok thats it with my rant lol.

Removing R6 would really mess up my game as it heavily relies of R6, the gun system, morphs etc will be completely broken and I would need to re-rig almost everything. And many games still use R6.
Fun fact: Many Animators use R6 because the walking and jumping animation are easy to remake unlike R15 (R15's walking animation or jumping animation is hard to remake) so R6 may never be forgotten for a really really long time

My thoughts are the exact same, some games that even use R6, currently the game I play, then you change the body parts position, of course, it forces the avatar to turn R6. I just hope it won't break anything in any other games that are R6, Hopefully some games are put in R15 or Player's Choice, I just hope they won't remove R6. Because in the fact right now, popular obbies, games like 3008 that uses R6 (Thankfully 3008 is now R15 I suppose due to the update). But I guess creators of some R6 games are offline right now, they wouldn't even be able to update it, because they might be focusing on some other stuff. Hope Roblox doesn't remove R6, the whole game would be in chaos right now.

As a developer. Arsenal wouldn’t break if they push this update. The viewmodel arms are the only thing “r6”. The arsenal developers have some sort of “startercharacter” set up, therefore avatar changes will not be ported over to the skins.
Anyways, the problem is that all my hard worked animations on my games are going to break because I mainly use r6. I’m not spending 100+ hours converting all my animations into r15! If this is a real update and gets pushed to the publuc, expect a huge crowd in front of the roblox hq.
As a game developer myself, this will have game breaking glitches in many r6 ONLY games. It will cause the main avatar and the animation itself to just glitch out. Some games, yes such as aresenal, counterblox, obbys, etc. With their devs no longer being around will cause their games to bug, and drop the player rate a ton. If some big developers have already seen this warning I would get prepared just incase they do follow through with this.

Lets say they just use the torso like arsenal, the torso will most likely disappear, and the gun and arms are attached to the torso for the camera to work, so you would see just the sky, you wouldnt be able to move your screen (maybe) and will cause you to freeze, breaking the animation

1:38 R6 is a truely crucial aspect for obby games, as an experienced obby player myself. Basic obby games like the one shown here are not as affected but the harder and more proffessional obbies require features only available with R6 avatars (wall hops, ladder flicks, corner clips, long jumps, and many more). This update may remove all of these abilites or make them significantly more difficult, but I still have some faith in developers, as I imagine that they could fix this by creating custom animations and bring some of the features back, maybe as a model for anyone’s use. Ultimately, this update just brings more inconvenience to the platform.

Yes, in a game called Juke's Towers of Hell, a game where you have to beat obby based towers, I have beaten a tower called Tower of True Skill and I'm not even sure if some of the jumps are possible on R15.

R6 runs the heart and soul of my work in Roblox studio, so if they remove it I will have to code everything again and I would have tons of trouble making things work the way they should, every FPS game on Roblox (including mine in progress) needs R6 to run their weapon system. Roblox Dev here, Its true that by removing R6 off the platform it will break pretty much most good games. I myself use R6 alot. maybe for a roleplaying game R6 wont change it but most of the platform will break incase they do remove it. Pretty much all of my games are using R6 avatars because, 1. Theyre easier to animate and code, 2. Theyre hitboxes and other parts are the same and, 3. Using speech for a NPC is easier by using R6 since we have to just attach the dialog and dialog choice to the head (or any scripts for a custom chat system). Roblox is basically just trying to make money without the players and dev's interest at heart.

Roblox has never cared about not breaking old games with their updates, I don’t see them caring now. Just look at old gear people have bought from the catalog, a large amount of them don’t even function at all.
I personally think roblox should make a new avatar R22, which is a mesh, and animated by mesh deformation. As currently on roblox that is the newest way for developers to make better models and animations and stuff. It will still be the ‘classic’ R15 avatar look, but just animated differently and better.

Continuing more than 8 years of playing Roblox, I myself says this is yet another damaging thing Roblox is doing to themselves.
Removing R6 Means so many different things that could damage Roblox entirely.
1 being the obvious hitboxes/games being broken from all the avatars.
R6 is a very fair Roblox animation, having the same hitbox in every aspect of it. Walking, jumping, ect. RRTHO has tons and tons of different creations in it like Kreek said, tall and small ones that go out of the boundaries of height, thickness, and jump height in them.
Another damaging thing is the communities thoughts and the originality of the animation. The community is almost officially done with Roblox and what they have done to the game, and this one takes away noslogia, and original thought from it. People aren't happy.
And lastly is a branch-off community, the obby community. There is 2 that I want to talk about
First of all the Devs from it, they hate this idea because of the easy ways of overcoming the obstacles and cheating the obby, from what I listed and Kreek said, the tall and short avatars being the reason. They want a fair game of obbies all around, and Roblox takes away all of this which doesn't make any obby fair and enjoyable.
Next is the more professional obby and more skilled obbist's (including me). First of all, this breaks any difficult jumps, glitches, wraps, etc of being performed correctly/how the dev created it at first. These avatars could overcome the obstacles and just win the obby easily without a purpose, ruining the enjoyment of the game.
I am very disappointed of Roblox and what they have done to their game, and not listening to their community. As they want to keep it as "futuristic as possible" this is ruining everything they have, and every choice they make in these days upsets the community.

As a developer I can confirm this will break all the R6 games due to the humanoid model being made differently with different numbers of parts.
My perspective- this document is definitely fake, roblox can be dumb sometimes but they won’t be so dumb to remove it because the whole discover tab is literally r6. In fact 99 percent of the developers forums avatars are R6, I think they would pick up on that. But if it was real and it’s coming then it’s the end of roblox lol

if roblox actually removes R6, then the obby community eill be most effected by it, because with R6 you can do all sorts of glitches (/e dance2 clip, /e cheer glitch, flat clip, etc.) so games like obby creator will literally just break
If ROBLOX is removing r6, then they’re doing it for absolutely no reason.
Just because someone doesn’t use r6 that often, doesn’t mean that ROBLOX should remove it.

Hi actually they removed guests by guests actually hacking through his account and into some games which quickly Roblox responded and deleted the guest option

Hopefully this doesn’t happen and R6 will stay. There a lot of sources where Roblox specifically stated that R6 and R15 will stay forever. I also agree that a lot of old games like obbies will break if R6 gets removed. And a lot of people like having classic blocky avatars to look like old veteran players or they like having R6 for fun. So hopefully Roblox doesn’t remove R6 and it will stay no mayyer what.
As a High Command, I can certify that games switch you to r6 entirely, and for this to happen enrages our developers. Let’s say TNI:V. Any sword PVP or PVE games switch you to the R6 avatar, and removes animations as they give advantages over other players. For anyone to leak this makes the developers rage.
As someone that uses R6 for my avatar and games, this is disappointing from such a large and rich platform. This can lead to many consequences like games glitching, developers like me that are making games are forced to change the whole system if using R6, and much much more. If they do this, Roblox is gonna become hellfire.
also for animators using R6 is way easier than R15 its less parts to animate

Roblox despises old avatars and animations for them, but mostly every player that plays Roblox enjoys using them. This is a huge problem for Roblox. If they want to remove old avatars including animations, it’s going to affect Roblox’s player base. Instead of making it better, they’re making it worse.

I’m pretty upset, considering R6 has been here for years and been used in a lot of games. For roblox to not think about all those games and just go straight into removing R6. But like he said we don’t know if it’s true or fake, so I’m not gonna put to much hate because I don’t know.

Removing r6 would be the most dumbest act roblox can do. There are tons of games that use r6 and they even made toys out of some of the r6 games. Take shark bite 1 for example.

As a tier 13 obbyist, i can confirm that removing r6 would completely kill the obby community on roblox. Now i am not talking about the general games like “ESCAPE THERAPIST OBBY OBBY OBBY OBBY OBBY”, instead im talking tiered obbies and games like JToH (Juke’s Towers Of Hell)
I prefer R6, i have a R6 avatar painted with the classic "noob" colours, and the only cosmetic item are a pair of sunglasses
