Thanks for the vid, I was curious if a CRV with no roof rack already had the studs under the black molding to accept the roof rack mounting hardware, so thanks for confirming it does.
Nice bro. I have a 99 thats lifted. I went to the junkyard and found it for $50. This video def helped me.Very hard to find too. Im turning it into a urbanlander. Lots of work but ill be happy when its done.
Great video bro! I got a 97 and I recently found my rack at the junkyard for $40! They are going for $300 on eBay now! Anyway, I'm pimpin mine out. Slammed on gold 18's, turquoise wrap, TV, 4 12's etc lol
Anybody watching this, if you join the Facebook rd1 group there OEM instruction on how to install these and it provides what length to cut the trim pieces.
Is it true that the weight limit on the rack is only 75 lbs? I wonder then if it's even worth it to go to the trouble to find one of these OEM and install it on mine.
Good, good stuff! Thanks bro! (perhaps wiping off the roof prior to putting in those seating brackets would be a good idea, otherwise the dust will grind into the finish on the roof, amIright?)
@@juanslifestyle8210 Okeyy!! I’m about to do a swap. I was just asking to see if it was possible! Looking foward to re watching your vid tmm when I’m actually doing it lol
I'm a bit picky but I'm tired of everyone mislabeling parts. This should have been called something like Installing Roof RAILS. Not Roof RACK. There are 3 parts, rails, cross bars, and baskets or racks.
Took forever to find a vid that shows complete installation of rails Thanks!
I am going to attempt to do this. Thank you for your video. It explains very well the whole process. Thanks bro!
Thanks for the video! I was able to grab two these at the local yard for $20 each today

No problem glad my video helped you out

Bro, i really want to know if you can share with us where can we buy the hardware for the mounting brackets for the roof.
didn’t think I had the tools. but it was super easy
When I bought mine I also brought the molding pieces so I didn’t have to cut the one I have , I guess i did good
So, bro, so thanks for the vid, so I hope I find one at my local junk yard , so thank you.
Great job nice ride through some side step floorboards you really won’t stop looking at it. You won’t be Able to sleep after that

Only if all the crv come with this option. Now gotta cut the one without oem from factory up for the oem rack right now.
thanks for the roof rack video tips
Is that oem rack strong enough to support a yakima storage box? What are the other options for crv roof racks out there?
yeah it should be strong since i seen some crvs with storage box on top. as in the roof rails?
I saw it somewhere they are only rated at 75lbs
Wow thanks for a good video!!! Yea that's a find!!!
Nice! That was awesome
Good, good stuff! Thanks bro! (perhaps wiping off the roof prior to putting in those seating brackets would be a good idea, otherwise the dust will grind into the finish on the roof, amIright?)
yeah i should have washed the car prior to putting them on but I was to much in a hurry and excited to install the roof rack
Can’t you install the cross bars after? Like do they disconnect and you can reconnect it after?
yes you can install the cross bars after it just makes it difficult trying to screw them on
Can i still install the roof rack with out the protectors because im missing 1
yes you can
Nice video bro.. i had a question.. what is the size or name of that drill bit?
the bit to remove the screws on the roof rack brackets?
Juanslifestyle yes
I'll have to look at it when I get home but i will let you know
Couldn’t you use the roof moldings that the junk yard CRV had instead of cutting yours ?
yeah I could have but those moldings were cracked so i didnt take them

see if your local junkyard has any crvs with a roof rack and get the brackets from there or contact the seller
I measured the middle rails and its same length. I dont see any difference
What pain you used?
black bumper/trim paint
lol ooh yes..I saw that in ebay for $299 . lol it's been on there for sometime now
🐐
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
you look like Takashi69
Finding the screws and the barrel nut is a nighmare.

Why is everything so filthy….
