Dont hate me Monika haters, But I dont blame her. Imagine you were in love with someone. Someone you would do anything for. But then you find out your not even real. And in this fake reality, there is no possible ending where you can be the with this person you love so much. You are *Forced* To sit from the side lines, and watch as they ignore you and fall in love with someone else, knowing that even if it wasnt that specific girl, it would *never* have been *you,* No matter how hard you try. It's easy to go insane from that. Love makes people do crazy things. You can see from the ending of ddlc, that even though everything was fake, monika *did* care about her friends. And she *did* regret killing them. Hence why she deleted the game. To stop the madness, so you wouldn't come back and make this happen. It's hard to be that mad at Monika when you really think about it. Edit: it’s been a year. I’ve reread the replies to my comment. I still stand by most of my words but I will admit some things I didn’t when I first wrote this. Yes. Monika killed her friends. Love does not excuse murder. Murder is murder. Looking back I see I was trying to excuse that when I shouldn’t of been. So I’m going to rephrase some stuff. I don’t think monika would of killed her friends if she thought this was reality. But she knew it was fictional. In the end she truly cared for her friends too, even deleting the game to try and end all their suffering. But you guys are right, she did kill her friends. If monika was a real person i think she would of tried to grow past this but because she’s a video game character and she’s AWARE of this, she tried to be sorry to the best of her ability. I am not trying to excuse her actions. I just think that if monika could somehow grow as a person: then more people could come to forgive her like I do.
