Thats actually really dope! Pitchmap is really expensive, this is a great way of doing basically the same sound with ableton stock stuff! Great video! :)
thank you for having some midi in there, every video i swear is someone acting like they are gods gift when the daw in just a well timed splice playlist
This is hands down the best virtual riot tutorial out there, not to mention the fact that you just gave me a wayyy easier method to make colour bass. Very impressive!!! :)
I think you are doin a great job of making your tutorials straight to the point, but not too fast and you aren’t getting off track👏 keep up the good work!
man i love that you're just strait forward with advice, editing in the video is on point too! i had to subscribe after this video 10/10 excited to watch your other content
This is beautiful! I think the movement born out of US dubstep is so underrated and needs a revival. Dubstep will never die! I love watching you work and hearing the finished project! And no, it's not cheating or "plagiarism" to use sample packs! Better than goat farming and all... Your project is also beautiful to look at. Virtual Riot has an amazing mind, and he's inspiring to many;)
What a video man! This has been the most comprehensive tutorial that actually clicked with me. You have a great ear and can produce like a MONSTER! Lets link up sometime!
Ash, you're awesoem. I've learned so much ina short amount of time. I even picked up a new workflow. I hope you continue to inspire small-time producers like me.
Hiii! I’m making the switch from fl to ableton and you’re tutorials are incredible! Happy I started following you back in my production journey! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with ableton!!
You know I really needed to hear that bit about using splice I’m very new and definitely get discouraged that I can’t make crazy basses on my own but I’m gonna change the focus to completely stuff instead of scraping it when I can’t make a drop that sounds like shit fantastic video!
splice also has actual serum presets so u can get those and learn from them if u wanna go down that Also my project files have serum presets included w them
sorry i'm still pretty new to this, at 1:52 it looks like the first envelope going to something too maybe? i tried to recreate it but it's only the pluck portion working and has no sustain like i'm hearing in the video? or is that just another instrument at the same time i don't really understand, it doesn't ring out for me after the initial hit 😓
I'm a newbie at bass music and I don't understand why your color bass sound so CLEAN and fully at 10:36 and with a sub bass too I've tried to do the same things in FL with vocodex and it sounds flat or muddy so I've tried to do the same things in ableton with the same settings u had but it sounds worse than yours... I don't know why, maybe you got some on a master channel?
Post processing after the vocoder is really important too. Not the master, I don't really have anything on there other than limiter or OTT for loudness

WHAT THE FUCKKKKK external vocoding is CRAZY thank you SOOOOO MUCH
great video! the vocoder/resonator trick is next level. did you release the rack?
you can get it by downloading the project file on my patreon
Sick man! Thanks as always!

dude you're SICK!
insanely well done!

if you want it to ring out increase the sustain. since the notes are played one after another it sounds like its sustained but its not
@@ashFB2B thanks for the quick reply, i'll give it a shot!
firee!!
man this slaps!! defintelty need a slower more in depth video of making a track like this.
In depth project file videos on my patreon :)
@@ashFB2B yeah i checked it out and watched some viedoes. would love a start to finish video to watch your whole process.

Trying to do this with Vocodex from FL Studio :(
Not going well
keep turning the knobs till it sounds good

@@ashFB2B so what do you usually put after vocoding? like some otts and saturation and thats it?
Just found this. Instant sub
Great as usual
thank you full mana !
Well executed my guy 👌

This is great, but i think you should add some crash cuz it feels pretty empty in the intro and build-up
youre probs right

The distro kid sponsor always gets me off guard 😂

@@ashFB2B obvi 💁🏼♀ but yeah seriously love the color bass u just created that shit SHMACKS
Love this
love u
7:11 is the best part xD
That synth in the second drop. Got the preset for that in serum ?
its literally just init patch with portamento, ott and reverb xD
@@ashFB2Bi was scrolling the comments for this. damn i sleep on that init patch, but it goes so hard. thank you for clarifying!
I wonder if the voice coder trick can be done in fl studio. That sounds so fire
Ive been able to do it in FL but since it's not my main DAW idk how to make it sound as good as ableton but I'm sure there's someone out there who can
you can use patcher, it has a resonator feature (which is just a vocoder)
or in logic. the vocoder is really confusing for me so
sooooo good!
soooo guy
