One of the most beautiful, charming, brave and amazing Serbs I've ever seen in my entire life but foremost: most inspiring❤ May God bless your soul sweetest darling, angel Šijan❤
Doing a combat rescue presentation and this footage really helps tie things in with the the articles I’d read about then Lt Lance Sijan during his hardest days. Immense respect.
Read the book, “Into the mouth of the cat.” It’s the Lance Sijan story in incredible detail, during his escape and evasion in the jungles during the Vietnam war. Then his capture, escape and recapture. It’s an amazing book and from what I remember, it was written partly by recollection and memory of fellow POW’s that were with Lance during those horrific times.
My cousin from Granma side. Unfortunately he fought for USA against barefoot Vietnamese people which is not something that Sijan family shouldn't be proud off. Dropping napalm and bombing civilians is not something glorious. On the end he lost the war. Other Sijans were Tito's partisan's and fought against Nazi Croats and Nazi Germans and they were real heroes.
It is humbling to think about wearing the same uniform as this hero
As a United States Airman,
Thank you for your service sir and rest in peace my fellow Wingman. You have done your country a GREAT SERVICE!
Drive past a park named for this truly Great American every day...and every day I am humbled by his sacrifice to our Country. God Bless 🙏
Before you ever start feeling bad for yourself- think of this man. RIP sir your name will live on forever
A hero among heroes. We owe our freedom to men like Capt Sijan. In deep gratitude Capt. Sijan.
Manly tears have been shed.
I read a book on this a long time ago, the strength and courage of this man is nothing short of amazing. True Airborne Spirit, R.I.P. Brave Hero
This man is a true patriot
