- It's been almost two weeks since fighting erupted outside the presidential compound in Juba. That triggered a wave of violence in which almost three hundred people were killed. Now, the President Salva Kiir has given CCTV a tour of his battle-scarred residence. And he's been recounting what happened on that day.

South Sudan fought to breakaway from Sudan. Why are you still fighting? Why African politicians love themselves more than their people? Let stop the fighting and start developing.
The problem has always been resources, it can't be a coincidence that it's only in Africa and some Asian countries where the president and their accomplices are super rich.
South Sudan will not go forward if the people keep fighting against each other. The problem is, these tribes don’t see themselves as south Sudanese people, they see them as Dinka, Nuer, Mundari etc. The tribes need to stop fighting and realize they are all South Sudanese at the end of the day. Once they see that and stop fighting, they’ll move foreward

Going on TV and airing these allegations could reignite South Sudan's civil war. Why would he do that? Is he calculating that an all out war would make it easier to eliminate Riek Machar so he doesn't have to abide by the West's power-sharing conditions?
