    One of our great ideas was to go to a pub in our balcony. We put on restaurant playlist on spotify, we had a delivery from a good hamburger place, put some candles and twinkle lights on and opened some beer. We didn't have a good table so we made one from some piece of wood we had placed on a small chair. I put on make up, we wore nice clothes and just had a great time. Ate ice cream as desert because we eat desert only when we go out to eat somewhere. That was super fun and when we "came back home" we felt much better and as if we actually went out.

    I've realized my husband and I still love each other's company after 48 years. We've been together non stop for 2 months and we're still laughing, and making the best of this socially distant time. This has been a dark time for the world and going forward we will be most appreciative of the light that is in front of us. Be well, everyone. Thank you once again, Esther.

    Hi Esther as always your words enlighten us. Im 63 alone at home doing well. I face loneliness, Covid--19 took our agendas away , not working now. This is an impasse where I admit not knowing whats going to happen, Im trying not to anticipate the future. Basically nurturing spiritually, I chat with God & pray for the world. Im in control of few things nowdays, so it is. Trying to see & appreciate all the good things in my life, always good to be grateful. This shall pass & we will need new resources & new thoughts to get along & transform our lifes. Bless u all .

    Thanks, Esther Perel, for decades of hard work and progress. You have made a difference. You are making a difference still.

    Thank you very much for this. I live on my own and learning to do this on my own. I'm not any more lonely than before, but I do need to find ways to connect so that I don't get more lonely. There are two different types of loneliness - the one because of your choices, and the one because of someone else's choices. I think I find the loneliness because of my own choices easier to live with.

    Hi Esther, a question I hope you can answer on Wednesday: many out there live in very disfunctional 'couple' relationships and the lock down only accentuates the disfunction; there's no time out to come to the surface for air. How can one start transforming or opening the dialog with a spouse or partner who's unwilling ? Where should one begin? Love your podcasts, often my go-to source of solace.

Today and tomorrow, depending where in the world you live, is the full moon in Libra. Libra is the sign of relationships so manifesting hopes and wishes surrounding this topic is extremely crucial right now. Seeing those goals and wishes as though they have happened is powerful and taking active steps however big or small can put us on track, whether or not we can fully reach these with the current situation. At least we are positively making progress together. That is vibrant and powerful. I am sending love, light and healing vibrations to all. Namaste 🙏

    I am in Italy with kids so that means I have been on lockdown since March 5th. I feel pressure from so many different directions I feel like I'm drowning. I do my best to manage the kids and their schooling, help my elderly neighbors, and take care of myself all the while I am apart from my companion, my children's father is being an ass writing nasty messages and calling the kids with nasty things to say and local people have lost their mind- while power walking I was followed for 100m by a man in a car yelling at me to go home (although where I am sport is still legal, for now). The dates when the lockdown will be lifted keep sliding so I feel like I will never reach the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel overwhelmed and alone all the while pretending to be positive for my kids. Where do I begin!?!? Ciao from Italy. ❤

    • @camm8832
      @camm8832 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Laura Pazzaglia hello from S Florida USA. I’m sorry you’re going through this. As far as the children’s father saying or texting nasty things to you and the kids, , you can set the boundary. I have a high conflict abusive ex and when I realized I don’t have to give him the audience he seems to need and it was very freeing and healing. Remember if you don’t play the game it becomes solitaire. Since you can only control yourself and not him, nor the crazy outsiders who follow you while you’re getting excercise /sport, as long as you are safe you can ignore them and go onto another street. Maybe try yoga and jumping jacks at home with the kids - could be fun, and it’s ok to tell them Mommy needs quiet time. I find a daily routine is important for the kids so maybe you can set a quiet hour or half hour daily so everyone knows that’s self care time, for you and for them...take a hot bath or whatever you find soothing. All the best to you and your family!

    This is beautiful, thank you Esther. ❤️. Also how interesting it is that normaly if we bicker about things our partners do that we dislike- we learned not to make it about them as a grounds of their personality. Yet now with love and kindness thanking to have done the dishes and making it about how kind they are is a new rule. 🙏 Love this reverse way of thinking. Quite possibly I’m starting to belive that indeed we all will come out a better people, better partners after pandemic is over. ❤️

    Love this conversation. Would you be able to discuss relationships in which one partner (eg. one partner is a healthcare provider) who is much more anxious and fearful than the other?

    Esther, it was wonderful to hear your perspective and ideas. You talk about reaching out to the community and about setting boundaries. How do you handle scenarios where you reach out to people to check in with them or connect or ask for help only to be told they are.constantly busy or don't have time for you.

    How to deal with diverse needs? I mean, for instance, grandparents over putting expectations to see grandchildren and just ignoring the chaos young ones (us, parents) are leaving with babies.
    You are just expectacular, Esther!
