The retailers need to fully refund these people without any exceptions
The manufacturers need to be the ones taking the hit. If they had better designed packaging this wouldn't happen.
Gift cards should be kept behind the counter .

wow this probably the most unrealistic request.
1.) Do you guys know gift card are not hidden on the counter products?
2.) Have you considered if there is a space behind the counter? What about the money needed to buy the spaces you can put those gift cards?
3.) Do you guys consider the people who wants to buy the gift cards? And for everyone's good sake they would like that gift card be visible to the public and easily accessible?

I had the sticker scam with a 500.00 card, luckily, the grocery store reimbursed me
These scammers need to be prosecuted. They are obviously clever enough to come up with these scams which shows mal intent.

For customer security, owners are gong to have to return to when the gift cards first came out. Stores would keep the actual card in a secure location in the storage area. Only fake display 'cards' would be seen out on the display.
What can the police do.. lol that’s a hilarious question. They will just grab another donut and call end of investigation
Put either behind counter at customer service or behind registers
Use the card to try to buy something for a dollar before leaving the store.
it is a good strat the only prtoblem with this is if you are gifting the gift card or you don't have extra money.
The stores need to do like how they do with cigarettes so people can't steal them they need to do the same with the gift cards and stop having them by the door lock it and the cashier will have to go to the aisle with the key and hang you which gift card do you want it needs to be stopped cuz that my store they have gift cards all over the floor I told the manager I've called Kroger's and total corporate to him about it they didn't do nothing about it Google will not even answer the phone they will not respond to you I'm email they will not do nothing Google sucks don't ever buy a Google card get Google out of business don't buy I bought an Amazon card a $500 Amazon card someone stole the money off of the card I couldn't get my money on my cash back but Amazon put $500 back on on my account because I got it back somehow Google won't do s***Google needs to be sued
The self check out machine is the problem, the store wants to save labor cost by using the self check out, put the security check responsibility on the cunsumers, what about the other non_ gift card barcode? Can scammers do the same to us?
Could do like some gift cards, have the customer go online to the provider, and activate the card online to keep criminals away.
@@DavidHalverson getting a code on your register receipt that would be used for activation if there is a way to do that.. the stores having the cards placed to take advantage of impulse purchase is contributing to the problem.
Hopefully the Self Check outs will be removed due to so much theft.!

Sometimes the card's customer service are scammers too and will give you a lot of run around

Sticker barcode are o Apple gift cards probably all gift card have a sticker barcode that won’t work once you paid to activate it at Walmart or the store location where it was purchased
Most hated part is that the card won’t work after purchase and there’s no one responsible to care about refunding the customer back for their lost
I didn't buy gift card this year for Christmas. With these scam, I'm never going to buy a gift card my entire life. Many should follow. No more gift cards ever.

That's what happened to me I was scammed and lost $1,000 and now my boyfriend is in jail in Canada because I sent them the gift cards and I am trying to get him free. I told him him and I are inacent he has not eaten in 3 to 4 days he is sitting in jail. He is a four-star general
