- This week we finally received a long awaited PvM update... combat achievements. Today I want to have a look at how big an impact did this have on the osrs economy. Its a very broad combat update, so in theory many different items could be affected.
I want to look at how impactful the new combat achievements were. However, I am also going to be looking at other interesting events in the osrs economy this month. A few other topics I'm going to be covering are league rewards, bonds, and some resource markets.

Looking at the fish prices, I'm sure it has a lot to do with the release of Tempoross. The rewards are more eye-catching to farmers than sharks or regular fishing and since it's instanced it's probably easier to avoid getting banned.

If they don’t want to add new tier 90 gear or something, they need to make the current BIS gear or all tiers of weapons and armour have tiers themselves, so add another NPC that say you have a BCP but you want your BCP +1 almost like imbuing, and it requires say another BCP to be combined and some GP and you get an added strength bonus or something, and have a +3 cap but it degrades back to normal BCP over time after certain amount of hits, for weapons you could have added accuracy or less cost for spec attack, the list goes on and it could be an easy item sink
@@haydenteague5445 basically the invention skill in rs3 kinda. Tbh I’m all for it why not have a skill that basically imbues items and is also a money/item sink. Sure it adds rng to what boost you get but that makes it even better imo

I believe that the effect of combat achievements was small upon release because those that plan on completing them will likely start by completing the easier achievements. It will take a significant amount of time for players to get to the hardest ones, so those niche items that required probably won't have high demand until later. Even then, the demand will be spread over time since players will take varied amount of time to finish.

Thank you for addressing how Jagex botched twisted league rewards. inflating the amount of points we received without also inflating twisted rewards was a joke during league 2. Could get like iron cup and buy every reward from previous league.

Jagex needs to make some gear consumable in ways like whip. Or make it easier to permanently lose gear in general (Maybe for all but ironmen). Not a cure all but these help/helped in the past.
Harmonized orb went up the way it did mainly from Phosani’s nightmare, not necessarily combat achievements
The clock for the next PvM item crash is a lot shorter than people think. With everyone camping bosses there will be another massive influx of items as combat achievements get completed. They need to come up with another sink because we gonna go right back to square one before you know it.

Iirc the 2021 post crash economy was in a better state than the 2020 rs economy, so is a rebound in item prices actually progress or is it just taking us backwards?
When adding new bosses some of the rewards should be combinable with current best in slots which when combined they become the new best in slot and after “X” amount of hits/uses the nee combinable item has a 50% chance to break and the old best it slot has 100% to break. That makes an item sink.

Do you think SirPugger has anything to do with the price of bonds? I can’t imagine that 10-20b worth of bonds being dumped into the game is insignificant

I think it would be cool if league rewards price doubled when the new leagues start so that they are still maintaining a value and encouraging more players to get involved when they are happening
Items will always tank in osrs as people farm them. The amount of people who horde or keep items when they quit is not that significant. The only true way to hold the value is adding a way to get the items out of the game like tentacle items that consume the item not the tentacle. So the tentacle is a low price but items slows down. Only scales and other consumables will retain value.

I just watch my bank stay at the same value as I earn more gold, yet my good items deflate. Yet to buy everything I need will be 4144m (not including what I currently have)
How on earth do you need 4 bil and still have any "good items" that are deflating lol? 4 bil is enough to buy practically every high end PvM item in the game. What's your current bank value? 200m?
@@StpMakinMeChangMyNam 2b, but items like harmonized orb, inquisitors, elysian, scythe, spectral, add up. Yes you can make the case those are luxury, but some of our goals is to get the gear for late game all at the same time

in all reality the reason the economy is going down was because everyone started playing alot and starting to bring more items into the game... once this pandemic is fully over will help alot hopefully before the game is fucked for life

Well jagex might as well add a tbow micro transaction so it’s super attainable. Hell let’s let anyone buy any item, for a small amount of real world cash! This way new players don’t feel locked away from end-game content. Let’s remove any grind and just let people pay for xp! If u want to play the game u can, but that’s boring! Why not pay 100$ for a maxed account? Skip the grind! Make everything easy and cheap. Who would possibly want to be rewarded for all the hard work and time that they’ve put into a game? Not me!

Such a dumb mindset. Tbow is supposed to be one of the rarest items in the game. You don’t need a tbow to do anything in game, if you don’t have the time to grind hard enough to buy a tbow then you shouldn’t have one. And you def don’t need to play 5 hours per day to earn a bow. 2-3 hours per day of actually efficient play over a year or two will easily net you 1b, but the people complaining that they can’t make 1b because they don’t have time are probably the same people skilling and killing mole with all their play time
They stopped botting sharks/crabs etc bc it wasn't worth it anymore. So thus its going up in price simple supply and demand.

I think the reason combat achievements haven't made much of an impact on gear prices is because people buy gear, do the achievement, and then sell the gear again. So no one is keeping the gear longterm.

Osrs' economy won't be boosted by rehashing old content. The combat achievements just encourage people to go out and play the exact content that is bringing in the items that are crashing. It needs a new boss or raid so that people gear up and divert their attention from the bosses that are currently being over farmed.

I mean 90% of all players will never be able to afford twisted bow, so it getting cheaper isn't a bad thing I don't think. Let people have fun with new items instead of the rich getting richer
So play the game to be able to afford things in it, the game shouldnt cater to PUG's it should be for everyone. If the economy crashes everyone is effected, the tbow is LITERALLY the best in slot range weapon, period. Its supposed to be worth 1.2b even more so because of the drop rate.
Let people actually enjoy the game instead of getting upset that you dont have the dedication to set aside 2 hours a day and save up gp.
For real bro 2hours a day I've played for 2 years have quest Cap and 70s on all skill and 80+ on all combat stats and my entire bank isn't worth 500 mil

Seeing some of the challenges for elite, master, and grandmaster made me lose all interest in doing them almost immediately. So many of the challenges are based completely on rng, even with max gear. Or they are absolute grind fests. No thanks. Horrible execution by Jagex on this one, IMO
There are players that can consistently clear the so called rng based challenges. So I don't think there is as much rng involved as u are proclaiming. U probably just don't have the skills to complete them 😂
