Thanks for this review! I walked by the Coach window recently and that black and honey 39 with brass hardware called out to me! I had no intention of buying a bag that day. I even left the store and looked everywhere on line for older models, better prices/sales; tried to talk myself out of it. I couldn't shake her. I went back three days later, LOL. I too, like a structured bag. I too, thought she'd be great as a carry-on; her top handles, wide bottom, and lower height drew me in. Alas, I cannot bring myself to trust any water bottle on that honey suede, or find M&M bits grinding into the seams! The side pockets are floppy and can't be trusted to hold my laptop snuggly. I'd love snaps on those huge side pockets to hold them more secure. I'm afraid of my bag contents escaping during the TSA extravaganza! She is just too gorgeous for that abuse (and actually quite heavy for traveling). The middle, zippered section, takes up prime real-estate and is difficult to access with one hand. This bag needs at least six feet or a rigid bottom. I like your plastic insert. I had this bag all packed up and ready to fly when I left her at home at the last minute. BUT, I LOVE the bag! I love the attention to detail, the superb craftsmanship, the supple gorgeous leather, the smell, the way she wears (not travels). So I guess she's going to be my around town bag. (I ran back to get my Tumi Voyageur for the trip: a perfect travel bag for me.) Keep up the good work; I'm going to check out your other content now!
Thanks for your support. My laptop fits well in the side compartment and my iPad fits in the interior. I never travel with my laptop so all I need will fit inside. Glad you like yours too. Now I need a 30.

The hardwear does say coach if you look at the push down button . All coach hardwear says coach somewhere.

So I was chasing the rogue 39 in black with honey lining, it was sold put in the US. I had a work trip to Toronto and found it. This bag is so versatile. It will Def be my most used bag.

It's one of the Rive Gauche totes. The center buttons aren't perfectly aligned. I am probably the only person that would notice that. The Balmain bag also has a super small alignment imperfection on the back of the bag. Again, my OCD ass is the only one who would notice, but I do. And thank you for the compliment.
This will work as a shoulder bag if you get a different thick shoulder straps. Look for Fendi straps or Mulberry.

I do not usually like large bags, but when I saw that one in the boutique, I really wanted it. Unfortunately for me, it would just be a once in a blue moon bag. Maybe when flying or travelling cross country. I can't justify the price for something I may only use 1ce per year.... Thank you for the review though!
Yeah, I get that. I do love it as a work bag. But if one doesn't need it for work then it is too big to be day-to-day.

@@totesgene Yes, I do. You should always go for what you want. Just be aware that although LV is "valued" at a higher price range, you are not getting more quality for your buck. And because there are so many fakes out there, it affects the prestige of the real thing.
@@socobbb thanks. It’s not the prestige for me. I just love the On The Go tote. That’s the only one I like from LV.
@@totesgene Plus, the LV isn't leather. I scored the black and honey Rogue 39 and I can't keep my hands off the leather! And that smell! I will not pay $500 more for coated canvas.

I was considering for myself (in a woman by the way!) the field tote 40 in the black multi green camo. What do you think? Not sure if I’m going thru a mid life crisis or not!!! But it seems cute & even somewhat neutral? Should I do it?

I have not. I use other bags as a travel bag because they can hold more.

I think yes absolutely it would be suitable for a guy. The 39 doesn't come with a crossbody strap, but it does have the two shoulder straps. Let me know if you get it. I love this bag.
@@totesgene Thank you for your response. There is the rouge brief but I don't like the contrasting white stitching and the silver hardware. I much prefer the gold brass colored hardware with black leather. So. So as far as having a shoulder strap does that mean tote bag shoulder strap or there's no cross body strap ? So I need to carry it like a totebag on my shoulder?
@@kissme4492 yes you carry it like a tote on your shoulder or the top handles. There is no strap long enough to do crossbody. I love carrying it like a tote. It’s so comfortable. I think you should get it.

@@totesgene Just purchased the 39 in Black/Brass. Coach sells a separate CROSS BODY strap in the same color scheme. Purchased both. If I get Covid at least I will look FAB at the ER :)
