I have the same setup on the same car.... it's been really good and has a deeper tone that I expected. After having it on the car for a couple years now, I've noticed it's gotten a bit louder - assuming the packing is settling a bit but it's definitely got a much better sound than stock.
Hey dude, thanks for dropping by! Is your car still stock headers/section 2?? That’s really interesting, I’ve heard of mufflers needing to “break in” and as a result getting louder over time. I really like how this sounds as well, deep and not too buzzy. Having a tad bit more volume wouldn’t hurt so I guess I have that to look forward too. Cheers! 🙌🙏🤙
Sounds good, I like it. I have a mix match setup on mine. Active Autowerks Headers, had a section 1 X-Pipe from aFe, but went back to the stock piece with the resonator, Supersprint resonated section 2, and a Rogue Engineering Diablo muffler. It's an okay sound that in most situations I like better than stock. I think though that I'm going to go full Supersprint in the future when I feel like shelling out that kind of money for their catless headers and cated section 1. No emissions here in Florida, but I probably won't be here too much longer so cats will likely be needed (honestly it's driven as just a race car on a track currently...honest...). Plus there's power gains especially with a tune. I need to put up a video of how it sounds now. It was trash at first but I finally figured out that a lot of the "rasp" was just rattly heat shields lol.....I wonder just how important those things are......
When I had my quad setup it was CSL headers, gutted CSL section 1, and Becker/ebay sections 2 and 3. It sounded good but high pitched like you said. No rasp or tin sound though. Now I'm running ARH 6-1 headers and section 1 with Bimmerworld 3.5in sections 2 and 3 😂. Sounds amazing. Like no other m3 on the road. It's loud when you step on it but it sounds heavenly from low to high rpms. What made my quad setup sound better was the single section 2 x-pipe. I'd bet that paired with the Supremo will take it to the next level without ruining anything.
Sheesh man ! Anywhere I can peep some sound clips of your set up? I’ve heard good things about the Becker systems too! I’m curious what your old set up sounded like too, when done right the higher pitched sounds can sound very good and even exotic, it just takes a lot to get it right and in generally they tend to sound more buzzy. But heck yeah man thanks for dropping by, cheers! 💪🙌
Love the sound of your new setup. The Megan exhaust really compliments the CSL air box. I have the Rogue Engineering Diablo exhaust which I love but with stock air intake. I can really hear it with the windows rolled down and bleeping the throttle when down shifting in sport mode is assume.
Those systems are awesome, I bet it sounds epic in real life, those downshifts have to be great. I am also really surprised by the Mega set up, im glad I swooped on it. I also heard that Rogue is releasing a new muffler, an even louder one. Cant imagine! haha but thanks for dropping in my dude, hope you stick around!
Right?! I’m very impressed by the supremo set up. I think having stock mid section helps a ton since it’s still resonated. Cheers man, enjoy that car of yours! 💪🙌🤙
@@joshthebavarian don't have a sound clip right now and I'm actually putting bimmer world stepped headers on it just waiting for the stud kit to come in so she's ripped apart . But it did get rid of the rasp just make sure since they have 6 different exhausts whichever you choose do not get the diffuser exit it only works with their 1000$ dollar carbon fiber diffuser and you won't find one that will work outside of making your own like I had to or cutting your current up so make sure you purchase standard exit . I'll get you a video this weekend when it's done 👍
... well, sometimes I have to laugh when I see car youtuber, that have exactly the same cars in the garage that I have. I also have a red E30 and a silvergrey E46 M3 standing side by side in the garage. :D
haha no way! Thats awesome, I honestly feel its such a perfect combo of cars. The E30 is perfect for just cruising and simple drives around town, and then the E46 M3 feels like a rocket ship comparatively, and is great for long distances / touring type drives. Cheers dude!
do you recommend for a daily ? i work 2 miles away my class is 7 miles away and the gym is 1 mile away all from my home PLZ get back to me i need as much feedback as i can get before i pull the trigger
With the windows down does it scream from the catback? I’m curious because I just bought the same exhaust .. I’m trying to do ironically the same thing you are. CSL box, with a catback that makes a loud noise
It’s not as loud as some of the other exhaust but it definitely wakes up when your stepping on it! I like it because It’s not loud enough to completely drown out the CSL intake. You will love it dude I’m very happy with it so far! I think over the last two months the muffler has broken in completely and it is slightly louder. Cheers!
@@joshthebavarian Nice, good to hear some feedback on this because that’s literally my goal … I went with the Mid-Pipe that Megan also sells hoping I could get some more noise with that over the stock but we’ll see! I like how you did urs man nice & clean
Hey whats up my dude! And I know, the megan set up also surprised me with how well it sounded. Im definitely pleased with it. Also, Im running a square set up of 18x10" Apex's with et 25 offset. 255x40 Federal RSR tire set up all around, they fit great and definitely ride a lot smoother than the old 19's I use to have as well. Cheers!
@@Rhinop21 hey what’s up!! And no they fit the car great without any rolling or anything. I’m on H&R lowering springs and honestly could go bigger or more aggressive offset in the rear, the front is just about perfect!
@@joshthebavarian Thanks for the response broski! Looking at Apex wheels again lol and they are so conservative on the specs they recommend. Thanks man, Awesome M3!
Just out of curiosity, everything besides this section 3 and the air box is stock correct? I bought my own E46 a few weeks ago and I would love to get a sound similar to this.
Yes exactly! Everything is stock minus the airbox and section 3 (muffler). I would recommend to stay away from an unresonated section 2, my friend had one and it sounded terrible, he just went back to stock. Headers are also hit or miss for sound, so for now I haven’t messed with either of those. I’m really impressed with the sound I’ve got out of the car so far, as typically these cars are hard to get to sound good. I’ve got a really nice balance of something not being crazy loud, and keeping a nice throaty and raw tone When you’re stepping on it. Thanks for dropping by! 🤙🙌
Hey whats up man thanks for dropping by! haha dont worry I wish i uploaded more too, but I have some stuff planned for the future (a drift event actually in july) so I hope you stick around! Its comments like this that motivate me to keep pushing stuff out. Cheers!
Yeah but it sounds like an “exotic fart” at the least! Lol but tbh the Dinan is junk, weighs a ton and only flows out of the passenger side. Super wack. B&B makes good stuff but it still weights ~20lbs more and I’ve heard it’s pretty loud, which I didn’t want. I think for a 300$ muffler the Megan is a great deal, and I happen to think it sounds pretty good, it’s tame too and still dailyable. As you know these cars are hard to make sound “good”, and even some of the expensive options sound like ass. Also good tip on the AR20’s, I’ve heard they work well but I’ll be sticking with the stock mid section. Cheers! 🤘🙌
Definite upgrade. Loving the sound, keep uploading 🔥🙏
I think so as well! Appreciate the good vibes, thanks for dropping by! 🙏
Yeah, bro dropped new video!
